I'm really curious about the Lost Temple, maybe it will be Ninjago but I have a foolish hope it could be a Mayan, Incan, or even Greco Roman ruins.

Ok not too get too OT here, and I actually don't disagree with your general point, but GoT is nowhere close to the most popular show in terms of ratings. In fact, it is not in the top 50 (although being on HBO its not really fair to compare directly). The Big Bang theory is #1 with 23 million viewers average, GoT averages somewhere around 7 million. A highly discussed show though, to be sure.

I wouldn't say never but personally I can't remember seeing technic elements so its rare at best.

They had mid January release dates.

I think given that all the Chima and Star Wars battle packs are boxed sets with a small build (like Forest Ambush) I think its most likely we will see that model going forward instead of the plastic over cardboard action figure style. I think its better to have sets like that which appear in normal retailers and go on discount than the exclusive battle packs.

MOC: Tavern and Armory On the Canal
Vorkosigan replied to Vorkosigan's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks but I should mention the furniture in the upstairs of the tavern is only slightly modified from versions in official sets. The bed is from MMV, the bookshelf is from Kingdoms Joust, the mirror is from Harry Potter (one the versions of Hogwarts). -
MOC: Tavern and Armory On the Canal

Thanks everyone! Frostyfeet: to get enough of one kind of piece to do things like till floors you should use pick a brick (in store or online) or bricklink. Plus sets of course. -
It'd be nice for customers but a loss for LEGO. A cup full of 1x1 plates or tiles costs LEGO more than a PAB cup sells for. The fact that you have to go to a physical store with limited stock prevents people from abusing this too much. Also its balanced by the many many kids filling cups with mostly large bricks and not even clicking them together to optimize space. The PAB cup is also a way to get people in to the store so they make other purchases.

I picked up Creator Mountain Hut 31025 today and I think it will be a great parts pack for historic/castle builds. It is mostly brown and grays with other good natural colors thrown in. For $30 or less most places, its 550 pieces and a good weight to the package. I mention it because I know several people have bemoaned the lack of a basic brick box with a lot of grays / browns / tan.

I would try using a 1x8 or longer centered on the brick. This should give you good gripping surface. Push down and to the side at a diagonal, so that you are keeping firm pressure on one side while lifting up the other. And then put a minifig crowbar, small screwdriver etc under the opening to lever off the rest of the way (if necessary). If you get desperate and don't mind destroying the brick, get some needle nose vice grips.

These sound awesome. Interested to see how the dragons look. I'm getting the feeling there won't be any dragons in the new Castle-like "big bang" theme. The Starlight Inn and Secret Market are also intriguing. Secret Market makes me think of Diagon Alley, but I'm sure it won't be that big.

The US shop@home site has a bunch of new clearance today. Mostly Chima, also some older Ultra Agents, TNMT, city coast guard 4x4, and battle for Ninjago city.

MOC - Schloss Neudeck - Pałac w Świerklańcu

Awesome scale, very classical design. I like the statue of the figures holding the globe. -
Love the sense of action, especially the chandelier. The use of the whips on the windows is clever, and this reminds me I really want to make some nice stained glass. Great job!

Great build, love all the details on both exterior and interior. Covered wagon design is clever. I like how you captured all the different heights of the children. -

Awesome bus and nice decal work. -
Steampunk is classified as sci-fi, on eurobricks at least. See also the "space knights" rumor on the sci-fi forum that is believed to be related to this theme.

Big theme with TV tie-in, castle but with sci-fi (maybe steampunk) elements. Release in January or spring 2016.

September 2015 LEGO Store Calendar!
Vorkosigan replied to MaxGoof's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I figure they don't promote stuff when it first comes out, because the really serious fans will be there anyway to buy stuff up. Promoting it the 2nd month after that rush has passed probably leads to less complaints about sets being sold out. -
Thanks for the review! I've seen other comments about the retro fuse box as well. I'm glad they included it because I have stared at that thing on the show several times because it does look odd on the wall. I wondered if it was meant to be a decoration or actually a vestige of the buildings past. I think there is another similar object on the wall in either Leonard or Sheldon's room as well. Overall I like the look of the set even though its not something I'm likely to buy.

Congrats that is really cool.

I agree, and a lot of recent exclusives were debuted with no leaked pictures ahead of time. But since retailers need to get info ahead of time for full themes unlike an exclusive, we should get at least a theme name and set list soon. A lot of info came out in August last year.

There have been rumors about a January release for quite a while, which is also when Chima and Ninjago released. I don't see spring as likely.
