  1. Nexo Knights New Part Roundup. These are just parts that are clearly visible in the official set images. Please excuse me if any of them aren't actually new, but do let me know. 1. What was first mentioned as a new door turns out to be a new angled wall panel, a space looking equivalent to the classic castle wall panels. Appears in dark blue and black. 2. Shield facades appear in many patterns, but its nice to see at least two blank versions that could be used to make custom shields by adding a handle to the back. 3. Shield / hoverboard base for the shield facades. 4. New sharply pointed wedge piece. 5. Awesome new books, a two part assembly plus a 1x2 tile for the paper. Hopefully more appear in the exclusive Merlok's library. 6. Rubber stud pieces, or possibly half pins. Interesting possibilities. 7. 1x1x2/3 pyramids in at least three colors. Lots of potential for studded doors etc. 8. Spike piece, not positive if this is new or not. (Old) 9. Staff topper for Jestro has a lot of potential uses. (Old) 10. Chestplate for the giant lava ogre looks pretty specialized but could support other big-fig builds. 11. Demonic helmet piece, also used on mini-fig 12. New larger armored arms. 13. Horned visor, may work for fantasy use. 14. New space marine helmet that supports visors. 15. Big fig shoulder piece. 16. Big fig armor. This, the shoulders and arms may all be semi-permanently attached. 17. Lava gollum new body/head combo. 18. New small arms. 19. Shoulder piece for small brick built figures. 20, 21, 28. New visors, all appear to have a sci-fi flavor with the ear antenna pieces. 22. Armor pieces for the minifigs, back has 2 studs. 23. New form of mini bolt launcher. 24. Mini bolts. 25. Futuristic swords in at least two colors. 26. Demon helmet, appears different from 11, may have a separate body armor piece underneath. (Armor is Old) 27. New serrated orc/barbarian sword. 29. Not sure if these long curved spikes are new or bionicle related. (Old) Thanks for the corrections
  2. IGN has high resolution images of the two sets: http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2015/10/70317_The-Fortrex.jpg http://oyster.ignimgs.com/wordpress/stg.ign.com/2015/10/70316_Jestros-Evil-Mobile.jpg
  3. LEGO used to have more reusable boxes. How many sales are they losing because they changed it? Less than the cost of the packaging difference I'm sure. Its not about whether people put the sets on the shelves or not, its about whether people disassemble them and put them back in the original boxes to be reassembled later. A very small percentage of the user group is interested in this. Most either leave them assembled forever, or disassemble and then sort by type/color or mix all together depending on the person.
  4. LEGO isn't meant to be put back in the box and taken out again later like a game. I wouldn't mind a bunch of ziplocks but its not really necessary and they wouldn't be free. Also I never rip a box, use a knife.
  5. That helmet doesn't support a visor, and the picture does not show the cylinder sticking out from the chin.
  6. The bamboo is the interesting part to me, always want to see more vegetation on the wall.
  7. Series 6 Roman, I love that shield and ancient warriors in general. This one is the most iconic. I don't actually own any though, I have a some Series 10 Romans because they are much more affordable, also a very nice figure. I'd give an honorable mention to The S13 Battle Goddess (Athena). Every element is well designed, I only wish there was some way to have hair and helmet separable. I should've bought more of these, the shield is so great and the gold lipstick is a nice touch.
  8. Great job. It kind of sad how goofy the original looks, with the guy's head also completely above the windshield. C'mon LEGO.
  9. I guess if you're looking for complex build techniques Castle sets are probably not the best place. Of course many Castle MOCs use complex techniques to get organic shapes and detailed textures. I mainly judge sets by their piece selection as building from instructions is only a small part of the fun, and I'd say Kingdom's Joust is quite good if a little pricey given the size of the pieces.
  10. Thanks everyone for the many kind comments! You uncovered my secret! According to this wiki (with citations) heated oil was used with murder holes although perhaps not as often as cheaper weapons (it is supposed to be oil pouring down in the MOC). https://en.wikipedia...thermal_weapons "Oil of various kinds could be heated to high temperatures and poured over an enemy,[70] although, since it was extremely expensive, its use was limited, both in frequency and quantity.[21][40] Moreover, it could be dangerous and volatile. Since the smoke point of oil is lower than its boiling point, the oil was only heated and not boiled."
  11. Given the condition you have to factor in the massive labor in washing, sorting, and inventorying the sets. That is much more difficult then adding up the value of sets and then taking a guess at what percentage is completable. The price has to be much, much lower than what all the sets would be worth if complete and good condition. Even sorted I can't see pricing the bulk at more than $5-8 / lb, knowing it must be washed and the huge quantity. The sets maybe 25% of what you'd expect to sell them for if they were complete an good shape? Ultimately I think it must be asked whether you are helping sell, or buying.
  12. I'm not concerned about which forum, I'm concerned about getting getting a more historical CASTLE theme in a year or two. But yes, we can agree to disagree. I do expect to enjoy some aspects of this theme. But my greater hope is that maybe they'll go in a slightly different direction for historical while Nexo Knights is out, perhaps a Rome or Mythology theme?
  13. Well to this point and the cleanroom joke, factors in your house really do make a big difference. In particular I think floor coverings (and their age / condition), type of heating system, and presence of a pet all make a big difference. From my previous house to my current place I saw a big drop in dust, probably at least 5x less. I think the new carpet is a big factor as I've read that traps dust and keeps it out of the air. The vacuum cleaner you use and how often you use it is probably another important one. More to the original question, I have a brush, a duster, canned air, or just a cloth. All depends on the specifics of what you're cleaning. They're also loud, and most importantly they release oil into the air that they pressurize (unless you have an even more expensive one that is rated to produce breathable air). I don't want that on my LEGO.
  14. Where? Saying it has knights and a kingdoms doesn't prove anything about LEGO's classification of theme. I don't even believe that LEGO considers things "castle themes" or not, I think there is CASTLE ™ and that's it. Of course they consider coverage of different subject matter when creating new themes, but its a lot more complex than labeling things under the Castle umbrella. Fans decide to lump Kingdoms and KK into a "Castle" group but that's a totally different thing.
  15. It is similar in style but smaller, more on par with the recent toy shop in size. First floor looks like reddish brown not dark red to me. Regarding the lakeside house, I think the animal is a moose. It has headlight bricks with 1x1 round plates to give a log like look on the corners. But very similar to the mountain hut without the mountain portion.
  16. People have mentioned the site on the last page, you just have to use your search skills since its against policy to post links.
  17. Looking at the actual set leaks now, one of the visors doesn't look usable but there are a couple others that still look good. Also the bad guy's helmet with horns is nice. Overall I think I'm likely to pick up the bad guy's sets more than the good guy's. They are black and brown with orange and red highlights, and look more medieval. The good guys have way too much blue, even some blue helmets and armor, and are generally more high tech looking.
  18. So there is at least one prelim image out there now that I've seen. It is an official illustration, so there may be some artistic liberties. But it looks like there will be new visors (3 different ones that I can see) and they will be in a gray or metallic and could work in a historic setting. Helmets themselves are mostly colorful. Weapons, shields, and armor look pretty sci-fi, but may fit in some fantasy builds. The one thing I was most intrigued by is a figure that looks like he has armored arms, like big gauntlets. Its clearly visible, so I hope this is an actual new piece and not just artistic flair in the illustration. It looked like it could work in a historic setting, but it may not have hand pivoting.
  19. Sounds better than Nexo Knights. I will pick up a few more of the current Elves sets soon I think.
  20. The previously reported sets are on the site I linked as well. Hopefully it's all one wave, but there is no way to tell so far. One set is a retailer exclusive.
  21. There are other LEGO "lama" on the site, my guess is some sort of store display. Perhaps a member who speaks German has some insight?
  22. http://www.dein-wohnstil.de/Nexo-Merlocks-Buecherei-20-Exklusiv-Ve If you search for Nexo you can see the other listings. A wizard library probably but at least its not "mobile" or "robo."
  23. So I've been doing some searching and found some interesting tidbits on a german site. No pictures yet, but some set listings that appear to be new. Nexo-Merlocks Bücherei 2.0 Exklusiv Ve - Google Translate: Nexo Merlocks Library 2.0 Exclusive Ve Its encouraging to see mention of a building finally, especially something civilian like a library. Nexo-Fortrex - Die rollende Festung - Google Translate: Nexo Fortrex - The rolling fortress I know we've seen the "mobile fortress" mentioned before, but I don't think it was in the amazon listings so here is another confirmation. Nexo-Der Mech des Königs - Google Translate: Nexo The Mech king Nexo sweepstakes package Monster, Jan 20 With description: Nexo Knights sweepstakes package Monster hunting Content: 1x Poster 50x70cm 4x wobler lettered 1x Dispenser for participation brochures 100x participation brochures A5 postcards with 100x Power Shield DIN A6
