  1. Haha, this is great! How much does it weigh?
  2. The colour scheme works very well and the shape is nice - the rear fenders are rather original and they blend well with the rear bumper/skirt. Where are the half beams used?
  3. Good progress, I was wondering where you disappeared. I like the lava lamp and all the other decorations.
  4. Thanks for the hard work. I find the descriptions very entertaining - please keep going.
  5. Looks like fun, I should make a couple of bots for my kids. Video was fine, too.
  6. You need a pole reverser switch to change the direction of one of the motors - http://shop.lego.com/en-US/LEGO-Power-Functions-Control-Switch-8869 You can also run the motors on two separate channels, but then you have to add a second IR receiver for the steering. The third option is to place the motors on opposite sides of the differential.
  7. For some reason I expected a lot more SNOT in this model. It looks like you're getting used to snapping together regular bricks, these builds seem rather quick.
  8. It looks great and performs much better than the pneumatics on the 42043. I love how clean the crane arm looks, even with a couple of wires running along it.
  9. I believe I just developed it.
  10. Hah, those bumpers are very nicely done. Your WIP pictures always show something I haven't seen before. Keep it going.
  11. Keep in mind that the reduction gearbox attached to the L or M motor will most likely make the total volume larger than the Servo motor. Unless you are building something thin and narrow like a drag racer, there are plenty of options for fitting the Servo motor. Even the drag racer could use it and simply have an extension axle going to the front of the car.
  12. Any chance of a video for this model? I'm very curious about the performance.
  13. Nice job completing this model. I'm surprised to hear that the instructions were so poor, but glad that you managed to solve it. As far as your next build is concerned, the only input I have is about the more recent sets. 9398 is a bit repetitive to build but fun to play with, the Astros will probably be the biggest challenge (the pneumatic hoses are very dense) and the Crawler Crane was the set that I enjoyed the most - great design, well executed functions and fun to play with.
  14. I don't see the chassis flex as a bad thing in a model of this size. Attempting to make it very rigid would add too much weight and it performs very well with the flex. I would compare it to wood vs steel frame rollercoasters - the wood ones are designed to have a bit of give and not be 100 percent rigid. What are you planning to build next?
  15. Good solution to the lip on the steps. I think you may be reaching the limits of the motors - they seem to be getting close to stalling when climbing the first step. A speed reduction would help if you are planning to add any more weight. Are you going to make the chassis more rigid?
  16. I'm surprised at how well the colour scheme works. Beautiful.
  17. No worries, I'll use the string solution in a different MOC.
  18. Once you're done the next project should be to pimp it out with giant chrome rims, a slammed suspension, a subwoofer in the trunk and a massive coffee can as the exhaust tip. To impress the grand kids!
  19. Lego has combined two Technic pullback sets into a B model for two or three years. They're small sets, so it makes sense. I wasn't sure about the third party string because it's an item that can be found in most households and is not expensive (as opposed to third party items like RC tires, or the SBrick). In any case, I've abandoned the idea of using a string as it doesn't come with the set.
  20. I think you summed it up very well. I'll be skipping the string.
  21. I don't want to ignite a purist vs non-purist debate, but I would like to get some opinions on using a third party string in a C-model for a set that doesn't have a string. Would you still consider it a real C-model? What if it was a non-Lego rubber band? I'm still trying to come up with a mechanical solution to replace the string, but I'm curious what you guys think.
  22. Good improvements and it looks really nice in blue. The engine is probably my favorite mod. (And your English is fine.)
  23. Wow. It's breathtaking. The shapes are like a great sculpture. Congratulations on such a fantastic build.
  24. Yes, that's the slots I was talking about. I was wondering if you (like many of us) had developed slight OCD while building, I think we now know the answer.
