  1. I also was not aware of this car, but this looks like an excellent replica. My only (minor) nitpick would be the wheel arches that are a bit more open than the rest of the bodywork, but they follow the car lines very well and I doubt I could do anything remotely as good. The custom stickers are a nice touch, too.
  2. Hahaha Ted looks terrified! More on topic: this is a set that just keeps on giving C models. Your boat is a very solid addition to the collection. Good job!
  3. Buy the remote? http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8675-1
  4. Beautiful shape, especially the back. The drive train looks very interesting, I can't wait to build it.
  5. I would contact Lego Mindstorms support. They are excellent at dealing with these types of problems. It sounds like an issue with a specific batch of sensors, but I may be mistaken. Let us know how this turns out.
  6. Nice to see this float. It reminds me of Doc's Rollingon. If I remember correctly his comments about the tires echoed yours - they are fine for a short time, but eventually get filled with water. Are you making a body?
  7. Nice work, I really like the shape of the cab/front end. Welcome back to Lego.
  8. I will have limited Internet access for the next week, so I'll look for more models next weekend. Thanks for sorting them, Josephiah.
  9. This is coming along nicely, I like all the functions you included. How is the steering controlled?
  10. I like this, it's refreshing to see no 5x7 frames. The looks are a bit unconventional but work really well. By the way the suspension is independent, not Tatra-style.
  11. Excellent functions - it's great that you included the option to add PF like in the original set. Thanks for making a video and posting the additional pictures.

Feel free to check them again. So far I've checked sets 42010 to 42036, with the exception of 42035 since a few of the C-Models were already posted in this thread.
  13. I was really looking forward to this set and I'm glad you made a replica. Will you be posting any more pictures of your version?

  15. Yes, Sariel's tutorial is an excellent starting point. I played with the colour curves and a tiny bit with the contrast to get the second picture. Your will most likely develop your own photo editing style/procedure based on the type of picture you usually take.
  16. I'm not sure if you need a table. Just a list like the one I made will do - it's easy to search and read, and the information about the project is in the link. I'll look for more C-models.
  17. I went back and you are right, the photos are pretty good. The lighting is consistent, there aren't any reflections on the plastic, and the colours are more saturated than I remembered. I still think the pictures could be lighter to show the details better: Maybe it's just a matter of taste, but I prefer the lighter background as the model stands out more and the grey and tan pieces are more visible.

  19. Much like you, I think a little introspection is necessary after each contest. I like to examine what worked, what didn't, and how to improve for next time. I already went through this exercise with my entry and won't hijack your topic to talk about it. For your entry, I think your photos could show more details. They are a bit underlit and the colours aren't too saturated. Try over exposing them next time - use your camera's manual settings to do that. It will reveal more details in the dark areas of your model and make the picture brighter. On a more general note, this contest was won by models that featured very prominent mechanical play features. Models that had hidden features didn't fare as well - just look at Zblj's entry: a technical marvel that "only" placed fourth. I don't know if adding visible play features is the key to winning a contest every time, but it sure doesn't hurt.
  20. It took a few different search terms after you wrote about your PVC foil, but I finally found a whole slew of them here: http://m.aliexpress.com/search.htm?keywords=pvc+photography+background I haven't ordered any yet, so I can't vouch for them.
  21. This is an excellent idea. I know 42038 has a few C models, including my crane. It would be great if you could provide a link to the discussion thread or blog post for models that don't have instructions.
  22. Don't worry nerds, your picture will find its way to safety manuals for metal workers. I didn't mean to derail the discussion by the way, you made a very good model and we should focus on that.
  23. Beautiful creation - the attention to the small details is wild: the cab, ladders, flood lights, and even the angled plate to transfer the bucket contents to the conveyor. Excellent work, I'm in awe.
  24. The performance is fantastic and it looks great, too. Are you going to keep it or take it apart? By the way, the metal cutting picture made me laugh - barefoot and the angle grinder next to some very sensitive parts...
  25. You don't need a whiter light, you need to adjust the white balance on your camera. If you used a white sheet of paper with a correctly set white balance, it should show up as grey in your picture. Right now the background and all the other colours are not what they are in real life.
