  1. Yes, thank you very much! I have seen the MOC forum - but at this time I have already posted this! For the next time I will know now where to post my MOCs! Thanks!

    MICRO Sea Cow

Hey, thank you very much for your positive feedback!
  5. Until last year I was 95% a collector. But since december last year I started trying some vignettes, and this was the beginning! Now I am 60% MOC'ing and 40% collecting - most of the sets I own will be used for my MOCs!
  6. Yes a MOC contest would show TLG that there are many enthusiasts out there who really wish to continue this theme! I think the problem with the petition is that you have to sign up at this website! And many of us do not want to become a member there! Does anyone have more information about this website change.org?! Honestly I just signed up without reading anything about the website just to help this competition! But for sure there are many out there who doesn't want to sign up for just helping one small petition!
  7. After thinking about this topic a few days, I think you are definitely right! Why should I give an advice if everything is possible to build out of lego! To say it with your words: Yes of course! I made this experience too! Take a simple part - and you can use it in many different ways! Thats the great thing to learn with Lego. So there is no need to tell others which types of bricks they should use in their MOCs - that's true. I just wanted to help newcomers to get started! And yes, as you said before, looking at flickr is the best way to get inspired. Or buy some of the amazing LEGO books like "Beautiful Lego" or similar, you get inspired too! But which ones are good ones to start with? There is a huge range of different big sets! From my point of view, you should buy those sets where you get most inspired, or where you love the colors... and then get started. I hardly can tell you if I won't use the part 60808 - I never built a castle! But that is what I wanted to discuss here - to share the experiences of other fans to the newcomers - maybe to get inspired! Yes it is up to everyone of us - which color he/ she uses! That is the great thing - there are so many different ways to build great creations! Thank you all for your interest in this topic and your opinion!

    MICRO Sea Cow

175D Hi there, I hope I post this in the right forum! But I just seen the Review of Metal Beards Sea Cow. So I thought why not presenting my version of the Sea Cow in MICRO Scale! I built it for a competition in June. I tried to put as many details in this build as possible! Hope you enjoy! Micro Sea Cow by LF_kofi, on Flickr
  10. Maybe this guy is the same you are looking for?! It seems so, because both have the same LEGO Rivendel build in their photo gallerys! Lego Ideas_User: Anduin1710
  11. So I hope this is not an entry that anybody else took before I do now! If so please don't blame me too much, but I couldn't find any entry in this forum concerning this topic! So what I wanna do here is the following: As a beginner it is very hard to start a collection! Many questions have to be answered! This topic should help anyone who is interested in building his own creation out of LEGO and needs some advice which bricks and wich colors of bricks he should own before getting started. From my point of view it is important to have a wide range of different bricks in different colors before starting to build his/ her MOC. Because otherwise you won't be able to be as creative as possible. After reading the last sentence, everyone should shout out: You are silly! That's a lot of money to spend before I can get started! Exactly that's what this entry tries to figure out: Which parts do I need to get started as soon as possible! And here I need your help! Please post in this thread which parts you think someone at least needs to get started building a castle for example. Or if you are interested in the space theme and/ or already built something - then you have the experience others do not have, and here is the place where you can share! What is needed: First you should post what can be built out of the bricks you post. e.g.: Architecture, Castle, Forest, ... Second, give a short overview which colors you needed to build your creation. e.g.: for a castle you need dark bluish gray, light bluish gray, black, reddish brown, ... Third, are there any kinds of bricks that been needed especially to build a great MOC. e.g.: for a castle you surely need these bricks: 98283.jpg and/ or 60808.jpg From my point of view the quantity of parts is not needed - everyone should make his own decision how many of a kind he/ she want to own. Finally I will sum up all your posts in this post, so everyone has a quick overview what the community came up with! I give you an example: To build a realistic Forest you need the following: Colors: Plenty of dark green, bright green, green, olive green, black, reddish brown, dark reddish brown Kinds of bricks: These parts you should not miss in your collection: 2417.jpg, 2423.jpg, 30093.gif, 55236.gif If there are any other colors or bricks you use when creating a realistic forest please post it and I will add them in my post. So I am looking forward to read your suggestions and of course if this topic make sense! I will accept any feedback from you! If you say, no we do not need this stuff or you know where I can find something similar in the www please post it!
  12. As I supposed! Thanks for the answer! Really great MOC! Well done!
  13. Thank you! My next The Hobbit MOC is in work! Hope to finish it after receiving the next bricklink orders!
  14. I love the many different kinds of soldiers! This makes your army more realistic, especially if an army is of that size!!! Wow.... stunning about 450/ 600 soldiers!
  15. Great moc! I love it! Especially the fragile work at the fence! How did you get fixed the roof?!
  16. @blufiji, @Simon_S, @ jdw88311171982, @TheLazyChicken, @Jason7189: Thanks for your great feedback! There are still some ideas for the next creations, brick link orders are set, so let's see what future will let me build! Thanks again for all who follow my creations on flickr!!
  17. So finally I can tell you latest news of bricklinking my market street! Before I ordered the missing bricks on bricklink and of course lego.com I had a closer look at my own collection - and found about 950 parts out of the 1250! Happy me! There were some expensive parts like the doors in my collection so the grand total of my orders was not that expensive. Over all I spent 160 Euros for the missing parts. Now I am waiting for the parts to start building my own market street!!!
  18. At least there are some "strangers" out there! ;) Nice to read that someone else read the books more than once!
  19. Hi, I was reading this topic for a few weeks, now it is time to get started into this topic too! Hope it is fine for you guys! 3 years ago I started to collect the parts from bricklink for the cafe corner! I tried to get new parts from as less stores as possible. And after a few weeks a couple of hundreds of Euros later I got all the parts. Just a month ago I bought the original instructions in near mint condition. So what I wanna tell you is, that it is a very expensive way to get to your dreams! After collecting the parts you will definitely find a seller on bricklink or somewhere else where you could get the entire set with instructions for less money! (that is what happened to me! ;( ) BUT, it is as much fun finding all the parts of your interest as building the set! By the way, these are my experiences for the next project: the market street: First: try to find as many parts as possible in your own collection Second: Do not concentrate on new parts! The used one are most of the times similar to new bricks, and they are definitely cheaper!! Third: Do not act hastily. Be patient, get your bricks one by one. And if you have to collect for three years - who cares! It will be three years of fun and you will get sometimes a rush of adrenaline getting some cheap parts!
  20. I want to thank all of you that watched my pictures on flickr! Thank you for the great feedback!
  21. Great build! I especially like the door entry and the roofs! Nice work at the rocks!
  22. Great work at the tree! Thumbs up!
  23. Great entries! Amazing what can be built with only 200 parts! Here is my voting: 13 : 9 21 : 4 42 : 4 46 : 3
  24. Wow! Great idea! Amazing performance in the video! I love this creation! Does there exist a building instructions or a LDD file?
