  1. You always seem to find some odd design to build. I must warn you that the technic pin with hole part on the 4-2-4 is a friction pin, which would most likely affect the resistance, unless you're just using the loco as a stationary model.
  2. Really really like this little creation! So much detail in such a small model!
  3. What a marvel! Seems like it could tackle any type of terrain. How durable was the brick built chassis; say in a complete rollover (without the rollcage)? I saw a few technic beams on the inside that looked like they were bracing the bricks, but I could have been sure. Also, too bad about the adjustable suspension, but nonetheless a fantastic model!
  4. This is basically what I wished the new Volvo EW160E would be like. Great work!
  5. Brilliant train! I'd highly encourage you to build some wagons to go with the train.
  6. I really like what you've done with a limited selection of parts. To make the 2 1x4 technic half beams on the sides of the grille look smother, you could use the two 1x4 tiles from each license plate if you wanted. Just an idea. I know most purists will hate me now, but when I used the 5.5L axle with the stop for the same purpose as you are (for the axles) I used wire cutters to snap off the ends.
  7. Edit by Hinckley: Your images are too large. I've converted them to URLs. Please reference the Site Guidelines for picture size limits. Thank you. Update: I've finally finished the AC3. http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg I've also completed one of the three cargo wagons. http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg Well that's the last of the good stuff... I have problem with the cargowagon- you may have already spotted it in the picture above... Here is a closeup http://bricksafe.com...g/1280x1707.jpg Yes the gap. Some of you might point out that I probably didnt apply the 5:2 ratio correctly. No I did, really,- If you don't believe me check the LXF of the cargowagon (Link for download)- please check out the lxf or my other pictures. I honestly haven't the faintest clue what to do now... My only theory is that the small gaps between the lego plates could add up to the larger gap at the end. If anyone has any idea of what's going on, I would very much appreciate some feedback or tips or whatever.
  8. Edit by Hinckley: Your images are too large. I've converted them to URLs. Please reference the Site Guidelines for picture size limits. Thank you. Today I have completed the locomotive except for the pantographs. Oddly enough I forgot to add the plows to each bogie. The magnet assemblies attach to the PF train motors. I forgot to order the wheels and axles for the cargowagons, which has delayed my progress. http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg The IR receiver can be seen in the gap between the pantographs. http://bricksafe.com...pg/1280x960.jpg More photos in my bricksafe: http://bricksafe.com...raxx-ac3-lm/wip flatwagon: http://bricksafe.com...in_mocs/sbb-rns AC3: http://bricksafe.com...ol-traxx-ac3-lm note: I forgot to add the PF pole reverser in the lxf. I have changed a few bricks around, but nothing major. Some parts for this color scheme were very rare and pricy, but should give you an idea of the general shape
  9. Very visually pleasing yet still very functional! Could we have some more shots of the underbody and front axle? I assume it would be to decrease the weight of what otherwise may slow down the model or make it more top heavy.
  10. This is what I think is a picturesque lego train station. Fantastic work! *As a side note, do you know who built the PKP pendolino train?
  11. Very neat! I love the use 8L steering linkage to allow the rack to be above the suspension arms.
  12. Edit by Hinckley: Your images are too large. I've converted them to URLs. Please reference the Site Guidelines for picture size limits. Thank you. The pieces have arrived and I have finally begun the building process! I'm about 70% done with the AC3 and have the three cargo wagons left. Here are some crappy WIP photos! http://bricksafe.com/files/Beck/train_mocs/railpool-traxx-ac3-lm/wip/IMG_2441.JPG/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com/files/Beck/train_mocs/railpool-traxx-ac3-lm/wip/IMG_2442.JPG/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com/files/Beck/train_mocs/railpool-traxx-ac3-lm/wip/IMG_2443.JPG/1280x960.jpg http://bricksafe.com/files/Beck/train_mocs/railpool-traxx-ac3-lm/wip/IMG_2444.JPG/1280x960.jpg I tested it out and was surprised to find that it can negotiate LEGO's R40 curves!
  13. Sooo much better than the actual kit! Well done!
  14. It's very nice to see something different! I really like its bulky fuselage. It reminds me of the AD-2 Skyraider
  15. What an excellent model! For the gun barrel, could you have used 3mm tubing to give increase the rigidity and or flexibility?
  16. I can't tell for sure, but is this in dark azure? If so, I can't wait because there will now be more curved slopes in dark azure!
  17. Love the dog! Let us not forget the occasional bricklink order!
  18. Thank you all very much for the compliments! I cannot wait to see the locomotive myself! I also am ordering ME models R104 curves since my cargowagons are so long. I also hope to build a few of these wagons in the future, where I might be able to include the sliding doors. Yes, it has always perplexed me as to the lack of electric railways in the US in general. As a resident of the Pacific Northwest, I have always thought that a high speed rail line between CA, OR, WA, and Vancouver BC would make sense. As the California High speed rail project comes closer to becoming reality, it will be interesting to see if other states will follow suit and expand the rail railway northward.
  19. Hello Everyone! I have finally finished my AC3 Traxx locomotive in LDD. I will be bricklinking the parts right now and I hope to finish the MOC IRL in about a month. The Traxx uses the regular PF AA battery box and two PF train motors for propulsion. The pantographs will be constructed using 3mm tubing, pneumatic tubing and this part (all of which aren't in LDD or are impractical to assemble in LDD). Sadly, due to the ribbing on the side of the locomotive, I was unable to do the "Railpool" lettering in brick. I also built a sliding wall cargowagon in SBB livery. The handbrake wheel on the cargowagon (not placed yet) will use the steering wheel from part 73081. And yes you can pull off the steering wheel from the mounting. The tiles and vents attach to the droid arms using this technique by bricktrix. The handbrake wheel on the cargowagon (not placed yet) will use the steering wheel from part 73081. And yes you can pull off the steering wheel from the mounting. The cargowagons use the new 1x1 round tile in black from new Technic Porsche on the bogies. I also built a flatwagon in SBB livery, but don't plan on building it IRL More photos in My bricksafe Reference Photos: http://www.railcolor.net/index.php?nav=1411257〈=1&file=bomb_34936_120&action=image&position= http://www.rjftrains.com/sales/neu08/images/48055.jpg Thanks for reading!
  20. This is one of the best technic MOCs in quite some time. I cannot wait to see this finished! You're going to need some weight over the rear axles for (some type of trailer) for your leafsprings to work.
  21. I think you have a good start on this locomotive, but some parts of seem like they could be improved. I think the you could add one brick between each of the drive wheels on the bogies (elongating it by 2 studs in total). I think mounting the L motors vertically makes the locomotive too tall, so I would opt for the m motor (or XL motor), even though it has less torque. Another option would be to mount the L motor horizontally, but this would leave very little space for a battery box. For the bogies, I would also use the 4x4 turntable part with the 4x4 circular plate if possible. If the bogie is too long for curves you could use part 48496 for a sliding middle axle. In terms of aesthetics, I think you've done quite a nice job, although the front nose does look one stud too long. Overall, I think this has the potential to be a great moc! For scaling:
  22. What a stunning passenger carriage! I love how you haven't neglected the interior of the carriage. Though I feel the bogies could use a bit more detailing since it's in 8-wide.
  23. I like this one sooooo much more than the A or B models. It's quite visually pleasing. Great work with the given parts!
  24. Great looking tractor and use of the inverted windscreen, but I'm not quite sold on the rear wheels.
  25. You've definitely got a masterpiece in terms of function and aesthetics. I just feel that some of your trains don't fit the style of the station. I'd be very cool if you could build some custom trains that match the station in terms of style/lego era. But don't get me wrong, this creation is superb!
