  1. The Hulk set looks like a great way to get Hulk and Thor. Too bad it will probably have the same ridiculous markup as the previous Hulk set (which was $50 in the US but $100 in Australia)
  2. My biggest regret is all the sets I had the opportunity to buy but didn't. Like the time I had the opportunity to buy an as-good-as-complete Futuron monorail but stupidly didn't buy it (maybe I was broke at the time, I forget). Or the options I had to pick up a 6973 Deep Freeze Defender or a 6983 Ice Station Odyssey but didn't (I have since ended up with both sets thanks to Bricklink)
  3. Cheapest option is MYER with the current 20% off sale, assuming there is a MYER you can get to that has stock. David Jones will work too if you can convince the staff to price-match MYER.
  4. I have an assembled MOC that sits on a 48x48 baseplate and is quite tall (its a 3 story house) and I have to move it a long distance in the back of a moving truck. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to move this MOC to A.Avoid it being smashed to bits and more to the point B.Avoid loss of any parts?
  5. 20% off sign spotted at MYER Perth earlier today, good opportunity if you want the Horizon Express, Opera House or Mini Modulars and missed the last 100 MYER sales :)
  6. There is a 20% off sale at David Jones comming up but unlike their last sales, it specifically excludes "creator" (i.e. all the modulars, Opera House etc)\
  7. Don't forget the Ferrari drivers, they are real-world people in minifig form too. And at least one soccer player got a minifig (starts with a z if I remember correctly)
  8. Loving the cop (helmet, smartphone, torso, sunglasses) although the drawn-on alternate face printing might be an issue if using the cop with the wrong headgear. Also loving the Hawaiian shirt guy, I need that shirt for generic civilian figs. Only figs I dont like at all are Calamity Drone, Wyldstyle, the dynamite guy, the panda suit and the mermaid. Now that I see these figs in all their glory, I will want 1 x president business, 1 x Emmet, 1 x Lincoln, 1 x cat lady, multiple cops (at least 2, possibly more), 1 x Shakespeare, 1 x female construction worker, at least 1 Larry, possibly multiples, 1 x Velma Staplebot (since the torso appears to be usable for non-robot figs if you swap the hands), 1 x sombrero guy and at least 2 of the Hawaiian shirt guys, that torso is amazing. (more variety in generic civilian torsos is one thing LEGO is missing, all the City sets keep comming with the same boring torsos that I have 10 of already :( )
  9. Target Carousel has both new NinjaGo and new Hobbit in stock if anyone is looking for em.
  10. This set has to be the most detailed truck TLG ever made. Wish LEGO would go back to sets this good (I am sure a highly detailed big-rig truck as a "Creator Expert" set would sell like hotcakes)
  11. I am also in the process of moving my LEGO collection (only interstate though, not international although it is a 4000+km journey) I have some stuff stored in the multi-compartment plastic storage containers, other stuff stored in various sizes of plastic storage drawer and then a few of the larger plastic tubs (like in the pics below) storing loose parts and currently-assembled MOCs. I also have 2 or so of the same plastic storage tubs worth of instructions. A couple of photos taken a while back showing some of my collection and stuff: http://www.cncmods.net/files/20120128_002.jpg http://www.cncmods.net/files/20111019_002.jpg http://www.cncmods.net/files/20120128_004.jpg http://www.cncmods.net/files/20120128_005.jpg Anyone got any useful advice please let me know as its the first time I have moved house using a moving company (rather than just having the stuff moved with the help of the family)

    Monde Cinema

To me this screams "art deco". I LOVE it.
  13. I do like this machine gun, it looks like the sort of thing one would find on the back of a HUMMVEE (or a beat-up pickup truck in some third world country)
  14. I dont mind stickers as long as they: 1.Aren't used on really tiny parts (1 x 1 tiles for example) where they are hard to apply 2.Aren't used where they cross multiple pieces and 3.Aren't used on odd-shaped parts where its hard to properly align the stickers.
  15. There was one in a City set a few years back (a tower construction crane).
  16. Still wish I could get the Tan cricket bat without paying a fortune for other stuff I dont need or want :(
  17. Someone on another forum reported this http://brickingaround.com/2013/11/23/ninjago-2014-sets-spotted-at-australian-target-store/ 2014 NinjaGo sets already on the shelf at a Target store. Lets hope this is a good omen and that 2014 product appears as early as 2013 product did (I first spotted 2013 product just after xmas at a few MYER stores in QLD and ended up with a couple S9 CMFs)
  18. I just love all the details of this. What I cant work out is what part is being used to attach the trans-purple Alien Conquest container thing to the white rod.
  19. +1 to having light and sound again. Plenty of sets in recent years have had sound bricks (Alien Conquest UFO had a "alien noise" brick, one of the Creator houses had a "doorbell + dog bark" brick, the Grand Carousel had a brick and there was a Creator set with a motorcycle engine sound brick, among others) and light bricks so producing something the right size for city vehicles that contained a battery, some LEDs, a tiny flasher circuit and a tiny siren noise generator should be possible and would make the larger city sets even more desirable to LEGO fans of all ages (its clear that any such new electric part would appear only in the larger sets in the line)
  20. Nice job on these designs, I like the way you did the tuba.
  21. MYER (as of earlier today) are doing their buy-one-toy-get-one-50%-off-deal (so 25% off if you buy 2 items at the same price). Perth CBD has the Opera House, Horizon Express, Sopwith, Mini Modular, Star Destroyer, UCS X-Wing, Kingdoms Joust, Friends Advent Calendar, Star Wars Advent Calendar and plenty of Architecture (including the UN building). Oh and they had the Winter Village Cottage. David Jones still has plenty of modular stock (FB, GE, TH, PS, PC). They also have copies of the new minifig book (the one with 3 figures on the cover) and a couple Star Wars Brickmaster books. Plenty of Opera Houses too. And UCS X-Wings. And also VWs. Perfect if you can convince a DJs staffer to match MYER on the 50% off deal (2x modulars for example) Target has no R2s left but they still have at least one Arkham on the shelf (it wouldn't surprise me if the Arkham ends up being like the HP Diagon Alley set in that it keeps appearing even after people think its gone) Toyworld in Subiaco has a bunch of stuff including the Unimog, the rock crawler (not the dark blue one, the original model the dark blue one is based off of), the Toyworld exclusive doors/roof tiles/wheels packs, passenger and cargo trains, switch track, straight+flex track, UCS X-Wing, Mindstorms EV3 and a couple modulars. Oh and I am 99% sure I saw the winter post office too if anyone wants that.
  22. +1 on this, I own the 8466 and its cool. If I had the time (and the parts) I have an idea to build a super-car scaled UTE (Pickup Truck for those who aren't Australian) using the metallic green panels from this set (there was a cool color a while back on a certain General Motors car here in Australia called Hothouse Green and the metallic panels from the 8466 are somewhat similar in color)
  23. Mostly, I hope we get Hulk in a set that doesn't cost $100 in Australia (we had a ridiculous 2x markup on the Hulk Hellicarrier set when it was sold here and it never seemed to go on sale either :( ) Also I wish the red bomb things in the Junior Batman set weren't miss-matched (red top, dark red bottom), it just looks stupid.
  24. I think those aren't broken but molded wrong (that or they were melted at some point)
  25. I have a couple of 2 x 2 round tiles in trans-clear. They have never appeared in any set (although they are not exactly all that rare on BrickLink) but they are probably one of the rarest parts I own (its the only one I can think of that I own that isn't in any set)
