  1. They most likely mean how you assemble the Lego version. Considering the elements come in their own box, much like the 8448, I expect a modular build. So you build a chassis, then the front suspension, followed by the rear suspension, gearbox, engine and then put a body on it. The order will be determined by how Porsche does it for the real model. Yeah, which is a pity imo.
  2. This is what I am wondering too, maybe they will provide some info in the coming weeks, when it's closer to the 1st of june. I can already see a teaser trailer of Sariel incoming with a hamster behind the wheel
  3. Don't have to wonder anymore, it's already in the brickset article
  4. Good point, didn't think of that.
  5. I see a 11L used in front above the grill. And maybe on top of the wheelarches?
  6. This topic is turning out quite fun with some of the later models like the micro tank, tractors, animals and grave digger. Keep them coming :)
  7. Well that turned out allirght, kind of a pity the colour isn't more like the real Porsche and Lego defaulted to normal bright orange, but oh well. Kudos for the smooth paddle shift gearbox (even if it needed a new red gearbox piece) and double clutch. I do find it a pity there are no working brakes when you got rims that provide space for them and Sheepo has been building them into his models for years now. 4 speed transmission is also a pity, as is the flat 6 instead of true boxer, but those are minor things. Box looks to be the size of the Helicarrier and Ghostbusters HQ, so 58x48x18cm, basically 2 Technic flagship boxes on top of each other.
  8. Yup, there is a round tile there. Can see it in this video (click fullscreen to see it well and it's visible 10 seconds into the video)
  9. The arches of the real model have no logo's, so I doubt the Lego version will. As for the rims, if anything it will be a tile and it wouldn't be a Porsche logo, because the real model has "RS" on them. Which germans slap on everything meant for "Rennsport", or in English: racing.
  10. Because parts from the 8880 became available in later sets as well? Oh wait... they didn't. Not saying the Porsche will follow the same principle, but I don't expect to see the rims and wheelarch panels on another model any time soon. Not until the next supercar at least. And I agree with AlphaX, what other printed parts should this car have compared to the real life model? The badge on the hood and the steering wheel? That's about it, the rest is either orange or black on the real model.
  11. "Coming in 911 hours..." 911 hours=38 days=1st of june.
  12. Great looking bus. I like how you hid alot of the mechanics out of view. I personally like the BB in the bus, just out of view below the window, but perhaps use the smaller one (from the trains), so the walkway in the middle of the bus is free?
  13. Except for the parts shown at the end, it's an actual real life Porsche 911 GT3 RS in the video. So what it will feature in terms of lights is anybody's guess.
  14. Praise the lord and a little over a month away too before we can buy it.
  15. Enjoyment is fine and banning is a whole different beast, but there is something like pushing a joke too far and overusing it. Like posting 5 topics in one day (not from one poster), about some "MOCs" that consist of nothing more than 5 pieces put together, which follow a couple of posts with the exact same jokes as the other topics. But hey, if you find that kind of stuff funny, especially 5+ times in a row, be my quest. I don't. Did I vent my opinion in said topics? Nah, I actually did ignore it, but since this topic is about the issue, I vent my opinion. I am sure Jim would have already fused the micro builds into one topic, but he's probably very busy, hence why I think there should be a second topic moderator to share the load. And no, this is not me applying for the job. The micro MOC topics aren't much different than beating a dead horse in the Porsche topic with 40 pages of people who nag about the price. Like the joke in the micro build topics the opinion about the price has been noted, does it really need to be said 80 more times then? I don't think so, it clutters up a topic that had decent information in it with people reverse engineering half the model and other tid bits of actual information. Which results in people not reading said good information, because they don't want to read through 50 pages of a topic while 40 pages of that are useless. So ya, from a moderating perspective, it's a problem imo.
  16. This is exactly the problem. 'If you don't like them, don't look at them' doesn't really work when they have flooded the whole first page of topics. I already didn't like the lack of moderation in the Porsche topic or should I say 'nag about the price of a Lego set' for 40 pages , to which the solution seems to be from moderators 'I'll just make a new topic when more news is made public.' Yet before that happens it's still the only topic where I can read new stuff about the set. No offence to Jim, he's a busy man and does a pretty good job, but I think the Technic section could use a second moderator of topics. I might speak only for myself here, but this forum has hardly been any fun to visit the past couple of weeks.
  17. That's your opinion. What can be seen and is known (3k parts among which loads of panels and new rims), warrants the price imo. Whatever information is added to that in the coming months will only be for the better.
  18. If you compare prices of sets at least compare them equally. If you mention 150 euro for an Arocs (50 euro below Lego's suggested retail price) you better do the same for the Porsche. 'But that means 250 euro Appie, which is still alot for a car with 70+ panels, new rims and 2900+ other parts'. Fine that's your opinion. I don't agree. Edit: And no, I am not a Porsche fan, far from it, I find the 911 the most boring ever and would have hoped for an Aston Martin, but I am still getting this set. Plenty of MOC potential.
  19. Of course not exactly 3000, but that's an easier number to use than saying 30xx parts. Much like saying the 42009 has 2600 parts or Arocs having 2800 parts while it's actually a little higher (42009 2606) or a little lower (Arocs 2793).
  20. Since nobody reads any of the previous pages apparently, I'll say it again: Yes, we do, 3000 parts. So ya, well worth the price, especially considering the cost of new panels, rims and Porsche license.
  21. Title says Supercars and topic so far only has 1 supercar in it... The Porsche is build much more in the new style yes, but if it rivals people's MOCs in terms of functions remains to be seen in August. The (pseudo) flappy-panel gearbox on the Porsche is a good step in that direction at least, but there are more systems I think that can be "Lego-fied" and I am not sure the Porsche has them.
  22. "I don't want to break the model apart to fix it, so I am going to saw it off..." Lost some cool points there Mr. Savage. If that was my work ethic I wouldn't have a single legit axle/pin in any of my models.
  23. Is this part snap feature only in LDcad? I tried looking for this feature in MLcad, but couldn't find it.
