  1. I had no idea this theme existed until now... that's how little LEGO's castle themes excite me these days. The sets are pretty weird but those figs are indeed awesome! Looks like a CMF series just for Nocty!
  2. The Sunburned Half-Orcs? Troll People of the Hot Tamales? The Cherry-Poppers? (Those were horrible, I know ) Seriously though, that is an awesome looking character. I don't think we've seen anything like him in Nocturnus recently, so why don't you make your own race! I'd love to see a whole tribe of these guys kicking butt!
  3. I like the mix of classic and modern styles here, especially the touches of vegetation. Nice build!
  4. Man, the crazy things that go on inside your head to conjure up such ideas! Seriously though, this is insane! For a giant, self-propelled, bellow-powered flammenwerfer, this thing looks very functional and realistic! The landscaping is boss, so is the posing (those rats working the bellows...) and all the other great little touches. Too cool, great work buddy! Like SK said, those rats are not to be messed with!
  5. 0Ah, you should try shooting in the shade next time. I think you'll really enjoy the difference it makes when photographing MOCs, if you don't have a lighting setup.
  6. Awesome, I hope this will give me the time to cobble together an entry.
  7. Love the old rugged look of the wall and the landscaping, nice techniques all around. Nocturnus is looking awesome!
  8. Nice scene and cool way to start your character's story. Many builders want to start their sigfig as a lord or commander (one wanted to enter GoH as a "omnipotent demi-god who shoots fire out of his bum"), so I like that you chose such a humble beginning for your character. Perhaps this Peter the Pig Farmer will one day be Lord of Avalonia? In any case, welcome to GoH and glad you joined (especially if you're the Asad I know from MocPages)!
  9. Woah, that tree is insane! My brain hurts trying to figure out exactly what techniques you used. Very gorgeous build, the water, cliffside, tree and vegetation all combine into something quite pretty. As usual, your builds present a lot of style and uniqueness. The story is fun to read too! I would echo Garmadon on the photo angles. I'd like to see an overall shot with the water corner facing the camera (like in the fourth photo, but with the whole MOC visible). This seems to be the main angle of the build. Perhaps use less direct light too, it seems to wash out some of the fantastic colors of this build. In any case, a very nice build, story and presentation!
  10. Very cool, there's a lot to love in this build! The color scheme is great as is the unique design of the building. This is so different, I can't help but love it. I think my favorite part is that little covered walkway and the unique shape of that roof. Great work!
  11. Great work here, the house design and the interior are really nice. That well is a particularly cool detail. I'd echo the others and suggest a bit more detail to the terrain. I think breaking up the long straight lines would help a lot. Anyways, nice build!
  12. Good story and great hut, perfect for Nocturnus!
  13. This is superb, all the details to make the building look old and worn are amazing. I love the diverse citizenry of Skavenport, really highlights what makes Nocturus so awesome. This is just too cool, I would like to see a photo of the whole MOC. I expect Osric is a frequent guest between his military campaigns! I thought the pretzel was hanging from the ceiling, figuring it was perhaps a German tradition to suspend pretzels from the roof. Then I realized she was tossing the dough... I'm getting less perceptive in my old age haha
  14. Stunning build and exemplary photography as always!
  15. Sweet battle scene, welcome to GoH! Those aren't bad photos for a phone... much better than my can do! Honestly though investing in a decent camera is really helpful. And a tripod. Shoot outside on a cloudy day/in shade if you don't have access to a lighting setup. A couple of white poster boards will give you a nice, non-distracting background. Anyways, build on dathil!
  16. Great abbey, I don't think we see many around here! Lots of cool details: the fountain, graveyard, those great monks and the abbey itself. The first photo is perfect, especially for such a big scene. Good work!
  17. Jaw dropping, an instant favorite. You have obviously perfected the technique to build those walls and it just shines here. I had to stare at this one to really appreciate what you've done here. The water is great and I like how it is the only feature of the foreground - anything more would have taken away from that delicious castle. Supreme work!
  18. Cool idea! This seems like a great way to highlight recent events, especially for those who have some catching up to do!
  19. Spring is a beautiful season in many parts of Historica. After the bleakness of winter, the lands are again inundated in color and life. Below, Avalonian villagers tend to their budding gardens under the shade of an old oak tree. Spring Tribute A few other shots: Spring back Spring2 Spring3 But spring is not just the herald of flowers and vitality - the changing of the season also marks the traditional start of military campaigns. Below, a swift rider travels through the village gardens on his way to other lands. His haste, as well as the Nocturnian military banner he bore, indicate the importance of his mission. Spring does not bring tidings of peace in all the lands of Historica... rider ----------------------------------------- Hey guys! I whipped up this Spring build just for the occasion (expect for those of you in the southern hemisphere ). It's been a long, bleak winter and the warmer weather has got me building again. Excuse my foray into Avalonia, but I've been in need of greener environments. The reason for that will hopefully soon become clear!
  20. Sweet interior, the archer's windows and snot floor are well done. I like the inclusion of supporting beams. The chairs look comfy too!
  21. Sweet build, those stockades are great. As always, your skill for landscaping is much appreciated. Nice work packing that horse too!
  22. Hot tubs, eh? Those Mitgards know how to make the best of a horrible situation! I love this build. A lot to appreciate here, superb landscaping and detailing on that tower. The stone and wood trim work very well together here. That hot spring takes the cake however. It really looks like its bubbling and the steam is a great detail. The piping looks sufficiently crude but effective. Excellent build all around!
  23. Awesome build and perfect execution in the photography. Very skillful!
  24. Something very evil, something very much lurking in the shadows! What's up Nocty, long time, no see! I got lost in the desert on my way back from Kaliphlin. Fortunately, sunburn is no worry when you have no skin! Anyways, glad to be back in the land of the dead. Much seems to have happened since my disappearance...
  25. Such dark and ominous tidings... Nocturnus is losing its heroes while the strength of the Black Spire only seems to grow. Fortunately, the cunning Osric always seems to be a step ahead. It will be interesting to see how his dealings with the Bank of Nocturnus goes. It knows no loyalty beyond who carries the most coin. OoC: Exquisite build Jacob, such a finely built interior scene. There are some really great techniques to appreciate here, particularly that fireplace and the area around and above door. Quite realistic detailing. Obviously, can't wait to see where this goes!
