  1. Quite the imposing keep and cliff face here! Definitely my new favorite from you Garm, there are so many details to appreciate here. Reminds me much of a Mitgardian version of The Streets of Barqa. You found some really interesting angles and shots in this build. And the depictions of life are wonderful (love all those little details, especially the spiral stairs and the sword holder!). I have to agree with SK about a little more elevation and terrain features in front of the cliff would add to the realism. Also, the area where the waterfall hits the river should be pretty chaotic, lots of whitewater and such. The transition there is a little too sudden, know what I mean? Some more clear trans pieces around the base of the waterfall could give a nice whitewater effect. Also, the cliff face is very impressive but could have benefited from a little more variation. Maybe parts where the rocks jutted out from the cliff face, and placing the slope bricks more perpendicular to one another, would add to the cliff. Overall, however, this is a fantastic build and it's obvious you put a lot of work and attention to detail into it. Very fine work my friend. Haha, also, you are like me - once a build is finished and photographed, it's off to the scrap heap!
  2. Congrats to the winners of Nocturnus Minichallenge I & II! Only one problem: two of the winners were from guilds other than Nocturnus! Make sure you're getting your builds ready for Minichallenge III so we can show 'em why Nocturnus is boss!
  3. And the winners are: Captain Flint in the Black Spire category! LordDan in the Nocturnian Resistance category! Congrats to these two guys and their awesome entries, and thanks to everyone who participated! Nocturnus is great, isn't it?
  4. Alright everyone, the moment you've been waiting for: the winners of this challenge! Jacob Nion is the winner in the Black Spire category! Henjin_Quilones is the winner in the Nocturnian Resistance category! Congrats to these two, and a big thanks to all who have participated! Nocturnus has never looked so awesome!
  5. Haha, typical Jacob awesomeness and grandeur right here! Man, that giant is just too cool - the pants (from a pirate ship set?), feet and head are particularly great. The cow is a perfect touch, gives you a sense of how huge this giant is. Like a walking mountain! And the landscaping, as always, is so ingenious and realistic. Man, with this guy on Raavage's side, the Resistance has got a serious fight ahead of them! Hope they remember to bring their climbing gear or a really big sword!
  6. Very good build and use of the limited footprint. That little hut is wicked and packed full of detail. Loving those swamp denizens too! And excellent photography. Sweet entry, glad to see you back around LordDan!
  7. A top notch build for sure! That beast is awesomely creepy, love how it appears to be bursting out of the ground. Those orcs had a tough time of it for sure!

  11. Wow, this is something else FP! Probably the best microbuild I've ever seen. Such attention to detail, color and composition... truly inspiring. I can't help but look at that forest and imagine myself strolling through it and finding all kinds of secrets. Tremendous build, and congrats on TBB!
  12. Sorry folks, real life distractions have kept me from what's really important - these minichallenges! Of course, the deadline is up, so thank you to all who participated! We'll be announcing the winners very soon! And if you haven't done it already, make sure you post a link to your entry in this thread!

  14. Another very enjoyable segment to this festival! As others have noted, your minifig posing and action setups are exquisite. Extremely imaginative and perfectly executed! The story is very entertaining too. Excellent work Exetrius!
  15. Wicked entry! Nice work on that river and rockwork. I really like the smooth and varied look of the mountain. That's also a great looking troop there, I'm sure they will fit in well. The flag bearer is a sweet touch too. Also, everyone seems to have such nice hair! Awesome entry all around. I'm having a ton of fun seeing all these Nocty builds!
  16. What a marvelous build and tree. I must say, I've seen some folks try this technique with trees, but you have really brought it to perfection. This is one of the best I've seen. Beautiful landscaping too. Your builds are always enjoyable! Wonderful storytelling too!
  17. Love the room and the forced perspective, very clever work here! The warped floor boards and the story illustrations are particularly good details. Keep it up man!
  18. That wall and landscaping looks great!
  19. Now here's a build to remind new and old members of just how beautiful the Darklands are. The old stone walls, blood pools, eerie plant life - Nocturnus really is a pretty place, isn't it? Great build and entry all around. Welcome back Captain Flint!
  20. Whoa, now this is a perfect fit for Nocturnus! Nice snot technique and statue. Very cool entry Kahir! To the naysayers, just remember, everything is bigger in Nocturnus!
  21. That updated version looks fantastic! Nice detailing and landscaping!
  22. Very nice work on the rocks and path here!
  23. Already seeing some awesome entries into the minichallenge, keep it up everyone! Just a reminder, if you haven't, please note at the top of your MOC thread whether you are building for the Nocturnian Resistance or the Black Spire. This applies to Minichallnege II as well. If not, Raavage will end up stealing all the prizes! Also, make sure you post a picture and link to your MOC in this thread as well!
  24. Whoa Ecc, what a beaut! Actually, if I may say so, his punctuation was flawless. Unless you're one of those Oxford comma people. I write for a living and I couldn't find any issue with his sentence. Then again, I may just be a very bad writer... On a side observation, with a sentence like that, I'm pretty sure Garm could have a sweet rap career in his future! "My name is Garm and I'm here to say, rapping long sentences be the only way!"
