  1. Beautiful build, the medium dark flesh and chequered floor are an excellent combo. A very colorful and well detailed build! Great continuation of the story as well. Unfortunately I'm only now catching up on the entirety of Osric's tale but it is quite entertaining. I love the work you're putting into the story and these clever builds, keep it up!
  2. Don't think I've ever seen this much activity in the Nocty thread... Kaliphlin and its 103-page discussion thread better watch out! The trashtalk is entertaining but don't forget to build! Those Mitgards are whooping our butt with the Algus Saga! Welcome Lykoi Sicarius, a devilish fiend such as yourself will be right at home here! Beware those who cross the wolf of shadows! Concerning tasks at the moment, as pointed out there's nothing official going on right now so this would be a good time to introduce more of your character's story in freebuilds. Perhaps show where he lives or some Kelra banditry, the Crimson Brotherhood in action, etc. Nocturnus will host the next chapter and you may like to have some character story out there by then. Where else could I release my dark, tormented inner feelings in LEGO form? Actually, we join Nocturnus to build character. It is the struggle of Nocturnus which gives it its beauty!
  3. A stunning and superb build, Leopard. Excellent land/snowscaping, and brilliant work on that pine, even if it is a copy. I can't stop staring at that keep either, it's just way too cool. I love how you added a simple interior as well, and all those sharp, pointy bits around the building. Very clever use of those white antenna as frozen plants. Such a lovely build, a lot to appreciate here!
  4. Wow, I absolutely love that first photo! Such excellent composition and details... The footprints in the sand, the forced perspective, the cacti, mountains in the background - it all adds up into such a brilliant and atmospheric scene. Wonderful stuff!
  5. Superb work, one of the finest dragons I've ever seen in LEGO form. Beautifully rendered too. Exquisite! Hope you find time to pop in here more often!
  6. Wonderful builds and story MKJ, so glad you were able to get a Cat. B together! Very interesting character and story here, and the accompanying scenes are great. I love the boat and the scene where Charlemagne frees the Leanders. Sweet work on those wyverns too. All around excellent entry!
  7. Awesome build CB! Sweet wall design, I also like the covered battlements. The snowscaping is also very well done. Love that ferocious pack of Algus warriors. Again, really glad to see these snow monsters getting what's coming to them! Excellent addition to this great storyline.
  8. Fantastic builds and story Kai, definitely my favorite for Cat. B! All these builds look phenomenal together like this. Love the new and old builds here, especially the training scene on the rocks and the use of the mirror in the first build. I always enjoy your supremely creative builds. Hate to admit I did not notice Liddel present in so many of your Cat. C builds but it was a lot of fun to pick him out in each one. Really great touch there, was that something you had in mind the entire time? I also really enjoyed the story and how it wrapped around the overall events of Cat. C. Glad to see the brothers were reunited in the end!
  9. Beautiful builds! I absolutely love the mist effect! Is that analog or digital mist? I love the use of 1x1 clear rounds in the first photo to give the effect of breaking water, very well done. The brick-built skiff itself is excellent, as is the landscaping and those superb trees. I'm really enjoying the story too! You've been an awesome addition to GoH, Full Plate, keep it up!
  10. Thanks everyone for the awesome comments! Thank you Gideon, you have been an awesome source of inspiration in this challenge, so thank you again! Haha, thanks Garm! I had a feeling your interest would be piqued by the sedition build - that was actually supposed to be a counter to your tax collector GA (but, because of Flickr and my troubles there, I couldn't get it turned in on time). Beware the man in purple! Haha, thanks mrcp6d! Don't think I've ever actually wrote the word 'defenestrate' before! Thanks, CD, as always for your exquisite comments and feedback! Thanks LJ! Glad to see you're not completely lost in space!
  11. Sweet tomb! Nice design and SNoT technique! Interesting story as well. I would echo the feedback on adding some texture to the floor. You should get yourself another piece of white poster board to place behind the build, that way you'll end up with a nice solid white background in all your pics. Look forward to more from you!
  12. Excellent work jaapxaap! Unfortunately we don't see you around here too often, but when you do pop in, you always have a great build to share. The buildings feature some very clever architectural designs and the roofs are just magnificent - the "wizard's hat" roof in particular! Really nice choice in colors as well. I can't help but feel though more landscaping would have kicked this build up another notch. Nevertheless, this is a very fine MOC. Congrats on TBB blog too!
  13. Really cool interior scene, I love how this looks like it was built inside a cave. The stairs and floor pattern is really neat, and the story is enjoyable too!
  14. Oh, this is some fantastic perspective here. The microscale city is excellent, as are the various details on the big gate. Really cool idea for this challenge, and nicely executed. I would suggest for the future trying to get as much of the background out of your main story photo as possible. In the first pic above, I think cropping the picture around the edges of the gate and then filling in the remaining white background with tan plates would have given the photo a much more cinematic vibe. In any case, nice work!
  15. Superb entry for Cat. B, definitely one of the finest for Ch. IV! Am I right to assume that the vast majority of these builds are shared for the first time in this thread? I know the Petraea, Arkbri and parade scenes have been posted already, but these others are new to me. In any case, this is a fantastic collection of builds. I love the Barqa scenes and how you faithfully stuck to Gideon's design. The first, interior build is quite elegant, and each following build really helps to build a story (in fact, they told the story for you!). The rockwork and action posing on the "Attacking the Desert King" MOC is very nice as well. In any case, glad to see you found some time for Challenge B, your entry was well worth the effort!
  16. Lovely woodwork SK! Really loving that gate and the differing sized palisades to the right. The corner posts made from 1x1 round bricks and barrels is a nice touch and helps add some diversity to the gate structure. I also like how the gate is set into the build at an off-angle. The shields set into the roof eaves is also great. I agree with Dee that the doors look good but the gap is just a tad too wide. In any case, excellent work and another solid entry into this very interesting saga!
  17. Very lovely scene, so much life and color in this build! Superb architecture and parade entries. As much as it saddens me to see brave DK troops paraded as cattle, it is also a little funny. Like others have mentioned, the double archway is particularly impressive. Great work dG!
  18. Wonderful! Both the story and build are excellent, among my top favorites from you. The first picture in particular really sets the scene. Superb work on the damage and debris here, the loose bricks as rubble is a nice touch. The inn itself has many great features, like the roof, texturing and colors, and I like how the upper portion hangs over the foundation below.
  19. Welcome Cyrana and Nagol to Nocturnus, the Darklands, the Blackest Black, Land of Shadows, the Reaper's Realm and, as I will always know it, Home Sweet Home. You arrival in Nocturnus is well-timed. Please, feel free to carve out your realm in this fantastic land and make a name for yourself here. You are free to do as you please, but know that dark armies are marching, and that much is happening just below the surface. The time will soon come when you will be called to serve Nocturnus!
  20. Lovely building and scene, Garm! Great architecture and landscaping. Melancholy, but very accurate as to the true spoils of war! As much as I have fought the Ulandians, I still hope this young soldier will return to see his family.
  21. Wonderful build, I'm really enjoying the Katoren style you have pioneered. Simple but elegant. I think this is a touching and fitting choice for a Cat. A entry, as it is important to show that there are rarely winners in any war. I love the color combos of the building and surrounding grounds. The roof and low, light bley wall are great touches. Lovely interior scenes as well, I wonder where you got the inspiration for that! Glad to see you're not totally lost in space LJ!
  22. Excellent build Bregir, those are some formidable river defenses for sure! The water lock design is awesome too, as is that little boat! Great stuff.
  23. Aha, so the Algus are not invincible! Mitgardian's newest foes will be conquered with the help of their oldest friend, fire. My spirits are lifted by this halting of those icy bastards! Wonderful story, I absolutely love the twist. I was preparing myself to watch Ulf become just another ice sculpture, but then he figures out the key to the Algus' defeat. Fantastic! I hope he will have a part to play in the continuing developments. The build itself is genius. The juxtaposition of the normal landscaping and encroaching ice is nothing short of stunning. The frozen waterfall, icy landscape, burning house and wolf-bound Algus soldier give this build such a dark vibe. It looks really great compared to the normal, green, Mitgard landscape. So cool, definitely my favorite entry into this storyline thus far!
  24. Great scene, so lively and vibrant! Cool to see some glimpses of figures from this epic challenge! Concerning how you wish this entry was larger, I think the motto of Chapter IV will end up being "If we only had more time!"
  25. Gunman, my man... Just when I thought real life events had grabbed you away from us, you produce this stunning piece of art... Easily the most beautiful, detailed MOC I have ever seen. Very comparable to the epic Streets of Barqa by Gideon. I am tempted to by a ticket to Greece right now just to catch a real glimpse of this amazing work. I am glad you included so many photos as I stared at each one long and hard to catch every detail. I apologize for being behind with my comment, but it took several days of viewing this MOC to truly appreciate the amount of work you put into it. Each and every detail is finely crafted and composed. I wish I could list them all but I would be typing here for days! There are a few I have to mention, however. The overall composition of this build is just stunning, with the little village up front, the river, high defensive wall and the massive archery fortress behind. The colors and architecture are just brilliant, and each little detail has that personal, "Gunman" touch (though I don't see as many barrels as I have come to expect! ). As far as little details go, the flags are such a wonderful touch. It is the micro model of your entire scene, however, that caused a tear to form in my eye. Like any piece of fine art, this really touched my heart. It is not often you see a build with such stunning detail on both the macro and micro levels. You are a MOC Expert no doubt, a true genius with the bricks! Your photography is also unsurpassed. Your photos are perfectly lit and composed and really make this wonderful MOC shine. I would love to go on and on, but I think I will go back to viewing the photos above and appreciating this fine piece of art and craftsmanship. I hope you have plans to take this to as many shows as possible, because this is certainly rocking the LEGO castle MOCing world! Hats off to you my friend! Thank you for saying so many of the great things I was too tongue-tied to say myself!
