[Poll] Which one is the better bluecoat officer?
Kolonialbeamter replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in LEGO Pirates
Hehe, all I expressed was an 'avoid spamming' thought, so in case of making a poll, please include at least the new admiral that also lacks proper rain protection. I have no clue, however, what the poll options should be, but please more than just two. -
Apocalyptic nightmare, truely! I'm still shaking. Hope they sell Megabl*x pitchforks in this hellhouse...
-
You would have to ask a Moderator or a high ranking member (Count?) to start a poll. If you go ahead with this, consider making it a general 'Hair vs. Hat' poll to avoid spamming, including also the Admiral figure from BB and whoever else has no proper rain protection...

Guys, I'm having a 'serious' problem at hand... I partially think of this forum here as a support group. Our poison being ouchy-when-stepped-on plastic... A local toyshop is going out of business or moves to a different location or whoknowswhat. Anyways, they are offering a 20% discount on everything. And they have a quite well equiped Lego compartment... Aaaand they have all the new Pirate sets! What to do, what to do, what to do... Every answer to this post should include at least one of the following phrase suggestions: No!; Hell no!; OMG; Be reasonable!; You are stupid; I said don't!; WTF, dude?! But now for real, do you think it would be a at least good idea to buy some of the larger sets (ship, bluecoat base) and wait till this wave has passed, then sell when prices rise? Like many did with the 2010 Imperial Flagship? Anyone experienced in this?

What's the purpose? Your personal SigFig? -> The one with hair, hat can change if needed. Any other officer? -> Guy with tricorne

Brethren of the Brick Seas?
Kolonialbeamter replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks for the pics, Phred It seems finding outfits for the greens is lifting peoples creativity to unprecedented heights. Keep 'em coming! Might also be worth trying to use differently colored arms and hands (greens, brown, greys, gold) along with rather neutraly shaded torsos. Oh, that last 'Greeny' is my fav also. -
Ätsch bätsch The lousy-jokes-battle is on!

MOC/MOD Imperial Bluecoat Fort, Trading Post, Coastal Battery
Kolonialbeamter replied to Dunedain's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yeah, finally that ship's flying the right colors! Nice combo you got there, I like the 'official-style-yet-actually-useful' concept. And especially the amount of detail you put into your minifigs! 'Female soldier torso' plus judge's wig work well for higher ranking bluecoat personal. Did the same myself. And the idea might catch on LOVE the treasure!! Must have spent a fortune on these gold ingots. Gotta continue watching now. Keep it up!- 14 replies

DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, ATTEMPT TO RESCUE THAT THING! Nice one, but wouldn't it be more of a warning to let JJ alive on that buoy and make every captured pirate his 'buoy-mate'? Could have called that vig 'Oh, buoy!' Or maybe that's what happened... and the pirate hung himself... JJ then tried to do... I don't know, something stupid as usual, probably tried eating that blinking light... and some divine being just got so annoyed with him, he/her/it ended JJ's existence for the universe's sake. Love these, keep 'em coming! Best regards

Hey, could not just not reply to this You know what, I think you spent too much time in BoBS already... see, all the factions are here: The 'Qureen' - clearly originating from a very rich region. 'Darth Davy' - wears red and black, and looks like an excellent navigator. The guy literally bringing a sword to the gun blaster fight - too much blue not to be from Oleon. And last but not least the authority despising, certainly-not-paying-attention-to-the-photographer kind of space dude, who's more intrigued by what's going on on the right - and therefore clearly a pirate. Are these designs any hint to your BoBS' SigFig approach? Keep them coming! The best -
In Germany it's gonna be April (according to the catalogue).

Stunning! They're both instantly recognizable Which scene would you have done? The rope bridge from the beginning, where Guybrush gets 'relieved' of his riches? Great work! And most importantly: More pitchforks! Love it! Best regards

Is this the real-life Imperial Soldiers' colony?
Kolonialbeamter replied to Lord James's topic in LEGO Pirates
... and it ROCKS! @Kurigan: Thanks for the impressions! Hope you two had a great time there -
Welcome, Economist. Well, judging by your name I think you should know a plausible answer already... budget cuts. Either at 'The Royal Bluecoat Fabric FactoriesTM', or at TLG. Another one might be 'identification', especially among the target audience, boys age whatdoiknow... hair might be better suited for 'heroes' than anonymous shakos and such.

Brethren of the Brick Seas?
Kolonialbeamter replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I think that torso would better work for a less well equiped militia trooper. Or a battle hardened veteran with an attitude... but for this he just seems a tad too nice. Interesting. For myself I had ruled this one out, 'cause of the 'star' belt, but I'm looking forward to what you come up with! And thanks for the link! You aren't playing the race card, are you?! Feel free to use whatever you want! Oh, and don't get too fixed on 'just greens'. If this is going to be anything like GoH, I doubt Eslandolia will be 'Greencoatia'. There's a lot of useful torsos out there, consider as well a touch of, say, dark red, brown, gold, dark bley and such. -
Krass! Awesome MOC! And in the spirit of the Pirate Forum, let me tell you, my first instict was to picture the open mouth as a cave... and the perfect place to search for treasure. Yo Ho! Best regards

Now, after 14 days the fight is over. I got beaten by tiny round plates... shame. But I shall have my revenge! Later... much later.

I consider it the full truth until proven wrong. Now, let's have a Pirate Forum conference there! Great find -
[LDD MOC] Vagabond - 16 gun merchant barque
Kolonialbeamter replied to Dunkleosteus's topic in Pirate MOCs
A seriously famous, rather perfectionistic ship enthusiastic - who unfortunatelly no longer sails these waters - quoted Voltaire, and I think it suits your question quite well: 'The better is the enemy of the good.' So the answer is... the next one. One more thing to whom it may concern: Quick, give this man a medal! Satisfy him now or he will rule us all eventually! All ahead full! KB -
Wow, just wow! This is quite an impressive way to make a review Love everything about it, animations are stunning and cute at the same time, sound effects are splendid, setting is classic, really a high quality 'product'. The only question... is the 'pirate' really a pirate, I always considered him a sailor... Anyway, have to watch more now Thank you very much for this!

Exactly! Like a 'two-times-a-day-precise' broken clock... it's gotta count for something, right?!

Brethren of the Brick Seas?
Kolonialbeamter replied to Admiral Croissant's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Beautiful work! Thank you for making this excellent banner If you incorporated Captain Nemo's suggestions (Lego pieces) and gave it another shot, that'd be splendid! And in that same style maybe even for the other factions? It might convince someone... Best regards, KB -
Hi there, wow, this is looking real good already. Nice rockwork, the texture of the walls is well executed, nice beach formation, great details at this stage. I think the water still lacks the same level of excellence. And the doors (and windows) look a tad too modern, imo. I'd swap them for latticed windows and custom wooden doors. Looking forward to see more of this Best regards, KB

'Change the Banner, or Ban the Changer!' Sorry, 't was too inviting not to do... I'm sure it'll be done soon... and if not, winter will be back at some point... just realizing, I'm having that same issue with my winter tires 'Keep calm and brick on!'
