Pillage the Village Contest: Out for Blood Edition
Kolonialbeamter replied to Capn Frank's topic in LEGO Pirates
Master, concerning the digital division, so far I don't see any building limitations other than the general ones, like size and theme. That means all kinds of none existing part-color-combinations would be allowed, as well as floating bricks, and other digital particularities. Are there any additional limitations you would like to implement, like physical feasibility, structural integrity? Or is it voters' choice only?- 144 replies

The History of Skull Rock Part 3 - Napoleonic Defence
Kolonialbeamter replied to greg3's topic in Pirate MOCs
I love this story arch concept, and the MOC(s) are nicely done, too. Very charming! Kudos and best regards, KB -
Hi again, this one is for Captain Braunsfeld. The other day he mentioned he lacks water for his ship-MOCs, so he would be glad to receive some donations... challenge accepted, the army of Colonial Minions provides. (klick for HR) Well, what can I say... seems, they'll get it done. I really have no idea what's in their mugs, but for their own sakes I hope it's just rum... This was a lot of fun to build. I would have loved to depict The One MugTM in yellow, but white was the only available combination. Anyway, CB, if they don't mess this up, some of that water is likely to arrive at your shipyards soon. Enjoy, C&C welcome!

[LDD Scene] Keelhauled! Warning: Contains floating bricks!
Kolonialbeamter replied to Kolonialbeamter's topic in Pirate MOCs
Muhaha, I wonder when they'll realise we are actually one and the same person in real life... multi-personality-awesomeness! Thanks, Capt'n. Yeah, atm I find it especially fun to play with light settings. Haha, just the long overdue answer to 'ridiculous threats'. But don't worry, only the best for the Phredinator, the barnacles are in fact sponges to pleasantly massage your back, a lot of rum is waiting for you on the other side... of the ship, and there's a lot more mermaids where that one came from Haha, thanks, that's what we're here for. Oh, and Captain Dee needs a sigfig! -
Guys, yes, it's nice to see a good creation again, but it doesn't have to be on the first page, especially if there's nothing new to be contributed. Read these guidelines... they're really more like rules, arhhh! I'm sure you can do better than to bump a MOC, idk, get inspired and build an even higher tower, or convince Mathias to do it for you (prepare for spam, mate!), just no old-topic-bumpidibumpbump!

[MOD] One More Brick Bounty MOD
Kolonialbeamter replied to Captain Braunsfeld's topic in Pirate MOCs
Captain, my Captain! One tough summer, even the ocean is running out of water... Name it 'TBBB': 'The Better Brick Bounty', of course not to be confused with the 'BBB': 'Black Seas Barracuda'... and 'TBBT': 'The Big Bang Theory'. Now, suggestion, get the 'TBBT' LEGO minifigs as crew and rename it 'TBBTBB': 'The Big Bang Theory Brick Bounty', then improve it and re-rename it 'TBBBTBB': 'The Better Big Bang Theory Brick Bounty'... OK, this is getting out of hand now... I, too, would suggest one more 'B', no, hull element, but 'TBBB' might 'B'come (what's wrong with me?!) too long. With a bit of fiddling around you might instead just place the third whatstheterm-mast on top of the captain's cabin, shorten it and increase the spacing between the fore- and main mast. But then you'd have to redo the rigging on the mizzen mast (that's the term!), and this might change the original style a bit too much, so it might not be worth it. For this is a very nice ship already! 'TBBB' for the win! Best regards, KB- 25 replies

PtV, PtV, PtV! Creations like this made me fall in love with this forum in the first place. Marvelous! Great and fun idea, very well executed, and so full of detail and slapstick. Loving it! Did it win you something at that competition? Best regards, KB

Agree to all that's been said before. Lovely, indeed! But you need a defensive perimeter, at least one cannon. After all, it's not that the huge flag pole screams 'low profile' ;) TLG would probably add a swivel based gun on the roof, but I think your creation deserves better, just chop down one of the palm trees and place it there... there's too many monkeys anyway! Yes, I said it! *grabspopcorn* Best regards, KB

You're off to a great start here, EKnight, modularity is key! May I suggest to keep the fort building - if you can spare the parts - and maybe redesignate it a prison. Some wall details/imperfections would be great for the office building, to avoid the 'white-wall-syndrom'. And you could add some vegetation, not to let it look like a chess board. I really like where this is going. Btw, where is this going, I mean how large do you plan to build this port in the end? Best regards, KB

The Red Dragon, 62 gun pirate ship of the line
Kolonialbeamter replied to De Sandman's topic in Pirate MOCs
Hi there, well, better late than never, very impressive creation, rigging well done, nice presentation. In short, one of my favorite pirate ships in these waters, and finally a match for DPW's HMS Persephone! Keep it up! Best regards, KB- 32 replies

Hi folks, after some not so great time, intense dead-end building, lack of ideas, and countless days of rendering nonsense images, here's a little by-product scene that I thought was worth posting. It's not much - sorry - but I desperately wanted to post something again. So here goes, just for fun, no pun(ishment) intended :D (Klick for HR) What does it show? Well, not much, just and underwater scene with this guy getting keelhauled. Why? No idea, maybe just 'cause it had to be done? Do we know more? Not really, it's all merely speculation, maybe the poor soul just had it coming... Anyway, seems he's still having an interesting time, after all, when do you get to see a mermaid just that easily? Or is she simply a trick of his mind due to a lack of oxygen? Sorry for this not being a real MOC, but I'm experimenting a bit with single image sceneries at the moment. Sorry 2 for the water surface not being transparent. I did render one image with transparent pieces - it took three and a half days to finish - only to realise the lighting was wrong and I forgot some things Just realising, two of these small round plates are not placed correctly... just consider them as more 'floating' bricks. Hope you enjoy this a little, anyway. Best regards, KB

Well, they don't not fit here, so leave them with us, they'll be safeguarded by swashbuckling pirates and worse scum... so no better place than this! Wow, great idea and even better execution. Simply stunning. I instantly want to build and carry them around all day. One thing though, next time better post MOCs in the Pirate MOCs subforum. Are you planning on building firearms as well? Best regards
-
Instantly recognizable as HMS Endeavor! Good work on both the ship and all the many details. I'm especially fond of the accessability to the ship's interior. Would love to see this project go through. However, I suggest this to be moved to the MOC forum, as it is a creation meant to be discussed. It may only secondarily be advertised as Lego Ideas project Edit: Phred wins again

Nevermind. Well, sinking pirate ships is what Bluecoats do occasionally I edited the first post, naming you as the creator. If you want to, state a name for this ship and we'll have the topic title changed accordingly. Glad to hear you're working on a new ship Keep it up!
-
Wow, an ancient topic bump that actually makes sense Always liked this impressive ship. Great build, especially for a first 'try'. Do you have any more info on this creation, more pictures, WIP shots, anything? Do don't happen do still have this lady intact sitting on a shelf somewhere, do you? Btw, Brickhaven looked great. You need to do more pirate builds! Best regards, KB

As I wrote a few posts ago: In case the ID doesn't work, try searching for element number 2545. Hope this helps.

[Not LEGO] Lafayette's Hermione reconstruction project
Kolonialbeamter replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Pirates
Splendid vessel and a great project. May the winds be ever in her favor! BTW, here's a litte Index promotion: You can find pics of Hermione [shamefuladvertising] taken by me last year in Rochefort [/shamefuladvertising] in the Historic Ships Index, check her out under 'Replicas'! Agreed! Wonder, why noone made one so far... -
Hehe, this should become basic 'Pirate Parenting Procedure' in the interest of our hobby: Stick to the 'Pirate Parenting Code'... which is much more than just guidelines! For the Greater Good!

Wow, thanks a lot, Matthias! In case the ID doesn't work, try searching for element number 2545. Cheap shakos... 'Jo, is' denn hoid scho' Woihnachd'n?!' Seems like an early Christmas this year

That's what I'm holding onto as well Hmm... seems we could run out of pirate supporters in the long run... I've said it before and I'll say it again: toys are simply too important to leave them to kids

Brethren of the Brick Seas Poll
Kolonialbeamter replied to SkaForHire's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Love how this takes off, and noone wants this to go south so far But, wow, where are all the redcoats? [tease] Planning a sneak inscription to take over on starting day, or simply not capable of handling the many answering options in this poll? [/tease] Always a good idea -
Brethren of the Brick Seas: flags
Kolonialbeamter replied to Maxim I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Great work there, Maxim I., I especially like the Trading Co. flag. One thought on 'official' decorated flags, the only thing 'official' (meaning what each MOC is encouraged to show) will of course be the colors of each faction. What happens with all the decorated flags is up to each player... so don't get stuck on what flag 'belongs' to whom. But I think some tendencies are obvious . This issue is similar to the factions & torsos talk.
