  1. Thanks zep, in other clearer references I have, the underside is more like sand blue which is lacking parts to play with but given what you have said I never thought to use dark grey which should have the parts I'm using. Ill give it a look in the morning... Just did a quick swipe, marked improvement Thank you...
  2. It really has been a fun excersise, I hadn't seen them either https://dewi.ca/trains/2009/panama/mule0.htm
  3. Certainly not indeed. Thanks for dropping by, loving your excellent rail based builds on the flick...
  4. So I was researching something entirely different and came across this little beauty which led to an attempt at capturing its form in lego. The Panama Canal 'Mule' engines are used to guide the ships through the lanes safely as well as up and down the locks that raise and lower the water levels.. From my research two each on both sides of the front and two each both sides of the rear. The shape of the Mules feature a large beveled front and rear frame due to the steep inclines climbing the locks as well as a central Rack rail to assist in climbing up and down these angles. On the active side there are two pulley systems to run the cables that attach to the ships, at the moment i have used the minifigure pulley as they look the part in terms of function however I'm still searching for an alternative that looks like the actual ones. The little seats on the platforms are to transport people along the length of the canal as they run along it due to the cabin being operator only. A wonderful looking little utility in my opinion. The design wont incorporate a power function as I don't see the need given any diorama use would need to be pretty large to feature it, so its a push along from here...
  5. This has so much going for it I don't know where to start...
  6. Perfect little engine.
  7. I used to build a lot of technic in my younger days and I'm very familiar with working out solutions to the problems that come up with making things operate...however I cant even begin to understand the complexities of getting this to work. Job well done.

Well space is limited and while it does allude, I try not to think of mechs like that, maybe i should try to fit two there...
  12. Very nice job there, and hey I love that Oscar the grouch on the insta feed.
  13. I really like the idea of this and please please keep the alien chef and spacemen, I'm a big fan of mixing themes in a lego world diorama. 10 points!
  14. Came up with these after a short dry spell. Bulldog and Shepherd Mechs along with a Bunker entrance for extra points. Over on Rebrickable for those interested, otherwise enjoy... https://rebrickable.com/users/RustyRunt/mocs/
  15. for some reason my response was not showing up so a simple...Thank you this time.
  16. Welcome to the forums NexisNaomi and thanks for dropping by my post. I've been doing Lego building all of my life basically but I mainly design digitally atm due to my Bricks being elsewhere. Hope to see you producing MOCs real soon.
  17. Heres one I whipped up over the weekend. This is such a fun theme to build to don't be surprised if I come up with a few more. Conceptually inspired by a plastic model Kitbash I saw in my travels. Rear gun based on one of the nifty designs on Kosbricks. Instructions and parts list over on rebrick...
  18. Ha ha thanks S.P.
  19. https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/200775-alt-build-contest-small-catagory-60428-space-construction-mech-alt/ why wont mine appear in that nifty box...
  20. Here's my take on a ride-able mining bot. A fun little build I had two goes at it but this one was more stable as I tried to be to clever in the prototype version Built for the small category for the contest I hope it gets a look in. I'll put up some instructions on my rebrick account in case you'd like to make one yourself. Good luck everyone.
  21. Yes I am doing a lot of that at the moment having just moved house. It is great for my creative outlet. I agree with that although the first one does look a little more off road than the original set. it also sports the spoiler on the front giving a very finished look. I was recalling the old 60s swamp buggy from Gentle Ben though its nothing like one...

  23. Hi there, well I guess these can go in here. Although the original set is under the city theme I believe its more in line with Adventure and exploration. Just a couple of alt builds I came up with. Free instructions if you'd like to play around with them. https://rebrickable.com/users/RustyRunt/mocs/
