  1. Thanks hrontos that saves a lot of time for me as it is. That's the ones see my Flickr for some renders.
  2. I am building a large scene involving some of my classic space models in LDD and quickly got to the point where changing the decorations on the torsos to the classic space logo became a laborious task. Add to this a multitude of base plates and the task becomes off putting, especially for simply testing some things. After loading an alternative file the other day I forgot to change the decorations on the figs and they still rendered with the classic logo and so I did a test. Firstly I made a simple scene using single parts that required the decorations to be swapped multiple times in LDD to POVRay and allocated the new decorations. Secondly I did a test render. Then I loaded my complex file into LDD to POVRay and without re entering the decorations tab did a render and every instance of the base plates and torsos decorations were swapped to my own. It seems that LDD to POVRay doesn't compute which instance of the decoration change to apply and so does them all (don't fix this please) Can anyone verify that this isn't a silly occurrence on my machine, I would hate to rely on it in my workflow only to have it not function later on. Cheers.
  3. This will help a lot of people out and thanks for the access to your decorations.
  4. Check out some old town halls and try to ascertain what it is about the building you like. I find basing a design on a real building helps a lot. For this one how about a simple focus on repetition of shapes and breaking up the sections with a band or two like my previous MOC https://www.flickr.c...on/13788626125/ A window behind each arch and a couple of plants will see you to the next stage then re post for feedback. These things are best done in small steps. Also realistic additions like gutters and downpipes help a lot. Ps work out the roof early it's easy to be out by one stud so be careful. Look forward to your progress.

It's funny that the small scale and lack of over detailing actually cause me to see more in this build. Nice one.
  6. I really like this, you've captured the angles better than any other version at this scale. Something to build on for all of us.
  7. My Entry is Bartonvale house which is conveniently placed next door should I ever convince the owners to sell it for a song , or a pic. My Blurb... Just next door is Bartonvale house a rather grand and impressive piece of architecture from our states early days. The grounds our house stands on used to be a part of the original vineyards whose wine has long past into vintage heaven and vines replaced with jasmine. I chose this very familiar to me building for my entry in the Eurobricks Digital Lego "build your dream home" competition and after countless hours this is the result. I had wanted to try this for some time and the comp prompted me forward, I now have plenty of reasons under my belt why I didn't start earlier. However I am glad I did it and happy with the result. LDD file 8084 bricks http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=542145 A little license on the dark orange parts but according to bricklink mostly legit. For photos of the original https://www.flickr.c...on/13788636053/ and one for artistic licence Hats off to the other entrants.
  8. You may want to look into sites like red bubble where you create an account, design / upload your items, in this case stickers and then order the item. Most of these sites are surprisingly rapid in their turnover and of a very high standard. http://www.redbubble...ef=home_leftnav
  9. Nice pic Emma, as my son would say at any given point in a conversation... Banana!
  10. This whole topic has been invaluble in speeding up my latest design, thanks to all.
  11. LDD to PovRay takes the pain out of rendering. Mine was set about half way to realistic, check out their site... http://ldd2povray.lddtools.com/ There is also a forum here at Euro which is the only one that will answer all of your questions. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=71654 It is the bees... and for more eg http://www.flickr.com/photos/daiman_mardon/
  12. What a nice little way to spend a Sunday afternoon, Seasons Greetings... even if it is still November. My entry
  13. Don't know how this thing works, but i"m taking it out for a spin, WeeeeEeeeEeEeeE... p.s. this is fantastic.
  14. Coming from the home of the giant cuttlefish you have me scared to enter the water, bath time no more fun...
  15. My brain just went POP, you'll have to excuse me while I go and put it back in...
  16. A very nice ship in every regard indeed and some clever html i assume with the links, I like little surprises like that. Scorpio rises yet again...
  17. Reading a recent article about 3d printers and applications I was surprised that they are already printing food. The experiments have already yielded cheese and turkey (loaf I assume) and stated that once the flavors are ironed out they will be able to print a cheeseburger. Neat and scarey all at once. Meanwhile it appears our favorite brick company is already well into the tech with their prototype models as the following image from a past issue of BrickJounal suggest. 18. Hello from Down Underer in Adelaide, can't wait to see what you come up with...
  19. I like the shorter 'squat' scale, more in line with the proportions of a minifig...
  20. My lord what a... oh sorry honey just checking out some lego mocs, be there in a moment.
  21. Jaw drops to the ground...
  22. Very nice indeed... I love the fact that it looks Clone Warsy and functional, not just a bunch of random details.
  23. Great job on your first MOC, gotta break the ice sometime. Love to see better photos, try outside on a bright day but set it up in the shade. A large curved piece of card in a box makes a great set to photograph on.
