They are 127mm. 121 without spikes, and 58 width. The 56 mm (2.2) has more to do with the rim size. -
Rumors says that the first digit nr set in 2H will be 50 dollars (or euro?) but then we most likely will getting a empty box since the license alone costs like 50 Jokes asides, for 50 dollars im afraid we will get a small to mid size excavator with no pneumatics at all - functions will be very simple, like a couple of levers for controlling the boom and the bucket (plus a knob next to the bucket for rotating) and maybe one or two geared functions in the base, to raise and lowering the support legs and/or the blade. For 150 dollars on the other hand it will be a pretty epic set

Generic Contest Discussion
GoldVillage replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would say 6 months to 1 year... we have to remember that the flagship sets we getting year after year takes Lego approx 1 year each to complete, and then they're also getting help from such advanced hi-tec software that we could only dream of, (while we are stuck to very simple programs that has many missing pieces) AND they work in team (we build alone..) BTW has it ever been a forest machine theme?? -
Mini(ng) Excavator
GoldVillage replied to GoldVillage's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Im afraid so, but theres not much to show... only two geared functions + a bucket lever. I think you are aware of the functions ;) Please do ;) let me know if your able to create some small/mid size openable bucket to fit I actually did some attempts, but the lever geometry when it is open or closed is all wrong, too hard to make. -

My brother took these pics (big thanks to him) so i can only post the pics that has been taken (i have no camera at the moment) but i will post the lxf file. http://www.brickshel...g_excavator.lxf (tracks not added, and one gear couldnt be added either) and here it is taken down a bit in some sections http://www.brickshel...taken_apart.lxf -
Maybe not exactly a mini but in a world of the giants these machines usually are made in, it will be. I wanted to create something in a more modest size, medium sized mining excavator. Two functions are geared through the super structure, and the bucket is using just a simple lever. The cylinder on the super structure is linked to the actuator, just something i did to fill some empty space on the top of the super structure. The original idea was to build the bucket and have one lever on each side - one for controlling the up/down and one for opening/closing the bucket, but that ship has sailed. The bucket was too difficult to build so i had to take a shortcut

LEGO Technic or City
GoldVillage replied to Richard Dower's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
That yellow city crane does actually has some kinda functionality (a winch) but so has the 6080 king's castle for example... so where do we draw the line? -

If above sets could count as "almost technic" (pretty far away imo..) then this would too; -
Ty for that pic of the dragster thats a nice find! (feel free to post others as well if you find) but it will probably take more time to cut out and mount these 40-50 stickers than building the model itself... I was hoping to see some 18945 panels but in BLACK (for a future project) but not yet as it seems... maybe BWE will have some.

They are mostly good looking, especially the hydroplane boat looks awesome and reminds me of the rc boat Robbe Unlimited i had years ago. Dragster, firetruck and the go-kart looks good too and so does the mine loader even if the functions are a bit disapointing. Not a big fan of pullbacks but they seems ok, and we are getting an awesome helicopter and the 2H seems to be the best second half ever... so why all this negativity?
