Very! nothing makes sense... the first set of the 2H is usually the smallest one and in this case we are to believe that a licensed VOLVO excavator(!) will cost only 50? if it does, then theres no chance for any pneumatics. But if the Xerion also is a mid size set it could cost 50, then theres a small chance that the excavator is the 150 euro(or $?) set, but on the other hand i doubt that the excavator in similar size as the xerion could be as much as 3 times more expensive, even with fancy pneumatics. So maybe its the BWE after all thats the smallest 2H set... either way the outcome will be strange, so these price rumours must be just rumours.

Before i could, since the biggest earth movers on the planet (the mining truck) has been made only one time by technic and turned out to be a surprising small 360 pcs set, so why not again? but what talks against that theory is the digit numbers... as we know the last nr is the flagship and the second last nr is the second biggest set - thats the pattern over the last few years. Here's some guesses that makes sense: Volvo excavator - 700-800 pcs, pneumatic and maybe the return of the air tanks. Power functions doesnt even has to be optional here. Xerion - 1000-1200 pcs, a bigger and better version of the 8284, several steering functions i.e crab steering, rotating cab. PW optional. BWE - 1500-2000 pcs, a bigger version of the 42042 with ofc a bucket wheel instead of a crane, but with similar gear box system (one motor for all functions) PW ofcourse included. IP car - 1500-2000 pcs, with some new RC parts which makes it so expensive

Havent build with pneumatics for almost 10 years... i need to ask something (for a future project) how big pump compressor (mini cylinders) are required for approx 10 normal sized pneumatic cylinders? 2? 4? 6? 8? the crane of the arocs truck has like 3-4 cylinders but only 1 pump compressor, and moves extremely slow...- 1,124 replies

We need to take these size informations (listed for b-models only?!) with some grain of salt... they're all seems to be heavily overexaggerated. But the price tags? seriously... that small kart costs 40 bucks and the mine loader 65, and helicopter is priced in same class as the crawler crane (!?) those prices cant be true either.

I guess im kinda average to slow builder, for some of the latest sets i build i did check long time it takes. Some examples: Arctic truck 42038 just over 4 hours complete with stickers and all (including a small break), 8294 excavator and 42028 bulldozer both approx 2h and 30-40 mins. 42004 backhoe just under 1 hour and the 42022 hotrod and the 42035 mining truck both approx 1h 30 min.

Nice done! great choose of model ;) -
The mine loader will be more like 450 pieces not only 350 and will costs nearly 40, but i agree with you to 100%. They do have become lazy and taking shortcuts, the playable factor with this loader for a kid will be kinda poor, since the claw will barely move from the ground it cannot even put the load on a cargo bed of a truck, The ideal design would ofcourse been with a bucket like you said and a geared realistic full length lifting capacity, not just a simple lock mechanism that barely moves from the ground. But i still like it, looks kinda unique.

Zblj actually build it in a way that makes sense and nailed the functions pretty spot on, sure the knob for the grabler opening/closing could be at one side of the turn table, but theres no actuator for raise/lowering the grabler - just a self locking mechanism... check this out: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=115745

Yes i noticed that too, its a bit sad that a medium sized model with alot of potential has just a simple manually function like this for raise/lowering. Ofc the worm gear is for the grabler, it could be routed through the mid center and operated from the rear end, even if no universal joint is visible.

Nice models! fell in love with that little backhoe ;) i fixed the gears, and the roof too... the L-shape beams wasnt a legal connection so i replaced it with a straight 5l beam. http://www.brickshelf.com/gallery/goldvillage/Backhoe/minibackhoe_fixed.lxf
