    Interesting viewpoints from all. I don't know if I've shared this here before, but Episode II is one of my favourites for the intrigue and discovery in the Obi Wan plots, and the new worlds. I prefer detective stories over action films. A lot of people really hate Episode II for the negative aspects, most of the time that is any scene with Anakin & Padme. So what I tend to do is press the skip/next button (if watching with a medium that has chapters) as soon as those 2 appear together. It turns the movie from a 6 average to an 8 or 9. I recommend trying this. Sadly you can't skip all of the ewok garbage or whiny Luke, I don't have a solution for improving those movies.

    Very cool maze idea. Only problem with the full tilt approach I see is you would need to simultaneously tilt both to the right AND forwards at one point near the start.

    Still unsure about this set, it's so expensive and so disappointing, but still, it's Hoth. If it was up to me regarding this set: I would drop the UCS tag, change the name to Echo Entrance Assault or something like that, sacrifice the snowspeeder & its minifigs and remove the wampa cave & Luke (make that bit a separate set), use the parts allocation to complete the back of the cannon & door and add another bike or something useful for the imperials and make up the minifig difference with 3 or 4 extra snow troopers. Keeps the size & cost roughly the same, but gets rid of the "incomplete" feel and makes it feel more like a battle, than 2 guys versus 15 or whatever plus a bunch of irrelevant stuff going on.

    For me, it is always about the force battle of jedi vs sith. The jedi returned, the sith were completely defeated. The empire was built on the dark side. I would've assumed that once their big scary supreme leader was gone that the minions would split and that would be that. Anyone vying to fill the power vacuum would be fighting against many other factions, and not have the backing of the sith. In Return Of The King, once the ring is destroyed, Sauron's power disappears and he & his empire are suddenly nothing. I figured that with no one left wielding the dark side of the force, that the empire would immediately crumble - the dark side influence suddenly taken away from them. If the force usage has so little to do with big things like this, then it's hardly Star Wars and more like Star Trek or some other galactic war story.

    They were blue in the photos. So we wait and see whether the photos had an error or the box image's colour was misleading.

The focus is usually on the content but some very nice photos sometimes.

    Someone else had better be doing a base entry, or Bob keeps second prize... I tried in LDD but it seems my CAD spacial awareness is somewhat lacking, I can't build anything in that thing. If I can't touch it, I can't see it.

    I want to embellish with details down the track, but for the contest this is all I could get done. Escape the prison, avoid the traps, save the princess etc. You guys...

    Nice and colourful, a fun map for happy times. Cool micro builds too. I didn't realise the flower stalk was available in pink.

    ^ I agree with most of that. Not sure of the brand new parts coming out now, but I have some yellow parts from a few years ago that don't quite match the older parts I have in yellow, not because of "yellowing", but they seem more translucent. It may have been more of a temporary "quality control" issue rather than a complete change? Otherwise I'm equally as stumped. I have all castles bar the yellow and 2006, with many minifigs of each faction & era and have not noticed a difference besides aged discolouration. Other than the greys & browns.

    To the people surprised that there are haters on the movie: that's what you get for building massive hype for a series reboot/refresh (whatever). People will have big expectations and vastly different hopes, so many people will be let down in a big way. The prequels copped so much flak, and some of it was deserved, but not as much as is dished out. Same for TFA. Same for The Clone Wars. In 30 years most people will be over either trilogy's failures. Just ignore the trolls - everyone is 15 at some point in their life... (some revisit that age many times or don't leave it) To quote the 90s band Regurgitator (who were quoting a long time fan): "I like your old stuff better than your new stuff" Yes, everything has to stop on the edge of a cliff... so annoying.

    I did an experiment by showing the movies to a girl in chronological order (this was before TCW). She wanted to stop after Episode III because "what's the point, he [Hayden as Anakin] has gone bad now". Well we had to continue (obviously) and after all I wanted her to see all of the movies so she'd understand Spaceballs... haha. Then she got REALLY grossed out by "that kiss" . So while the "I am your father" wasn't a surprise, the fall of Anakin and the identity of the sith lord were surprises.

    Very cool design. I only wonder if the blue might look better with that maze if it was dark, but those parts probably aren't available anyway.
