    Spoilers, but the original show was just your typical 80s boys cartoon, not much in it really. I loved it, but I was 6. You may find it difficult to watch (despite the coolness of aliens, spaceships, transforming robots etc).

    I did a comparison across minifig themes last year or the year before to show the piece count difference between licenced and non-licenced sets of the same S@H price. The disparity is definitely there, but is significantly reduced in North America. I didn't do a scientific report or calculate a percentage btw, just made observations, so I don't remember how big the difference was, but it is considerable.

    Are they the normal length? They look long to me. In any case, I'm glad that the colour is a more accurate pale and not the stronger blue in the earlier photos. Even though the darker colour would be good going forward for everyone else.

    Agreed, they look better with, and I can't really tell which of the two is better, however the pauldrons do push the minifigs towards "doesn't look like Lego" territory. I think maybe go with a colour the same as the helmet if possible.

    That was a production or supply issue in North America, not a deliberate move.

    Something not addressed above is the issue that a lot of Castle fans care about that an Ideas set can not fix: no themes allowed, only single sets. For collectors, new castle sets can't be standalone, they must augment a new or existing faction. Why is that a problem? You can't build a decent new faction/army from 1 set. You want variety in minifigs, you want more than 1 team. To get all of that requires a minimum of 6 unique minifigs (good luck). Then you want heraldry, you want horses and armour. That is all independent from the model. Otherwise the submission is just another grey castle with existing minifigs (you can build yourself) that will gather dust, not votes.

    I like the Sonic head, but normal minifig legs & feet look quite strange on him. I don't think there was anything else they could've done to make it look normal. The ring could've been better in a gold colour, I think the size is right though.

    I would change some colours on that, and reverse the guards to mounted knights ratio, but it's not bad a model. Nice moc, okay Idea.

    Are you being negative about negativity? Do two wrongs make a right? I find tagging your own project with "cool", "amazing" and "cool vehicle" to be rather bad form. If someone else wants to call it those things, that's fine. Very nice set, but an unforgivable level of rip-off, like turning it up to 11. Girls in STEM... If the Research Institute didn't exist (ever), then this would be a great original Idea.

    At a COMIC CONVENTION, what else would you expect? If it was called SDNC (nerd convention) then I think we should expect a lot more SW!

    That's right, and a character doesn't have to be alive and physically appear in the show to be made canon. Darth Bane is canon thanks to TCW, even though it was just a vision. Darth Plaguis is canon because he was mentioned in Episode III. All it takes is a brief mention and Revan is real (again).

    Buuuuuuuuuut... the "official date" that a season starts/ends is not a worldwide universally-agreed-to thing. The solstice & equinox dates aren't considered by all to be "it". I don't know why the Gregorian calendar is as it is, but these days many people consider seasons to start on the first of December/March/June/September, the year to start on the first of January and here in Australia the financial year starts on the first of July. Summer/Winter solstice is often regarded as simply the longest/shortest day. I think you could cut him some slack on that comment. I personally don't know the date of Chinese New Year, I don't think that's an offence, so why would not knowing about the "season starts at solstice" viewpoint be so bad?

    How about a seaside based Castle theme? I don't mean as in Pirates, but a medieval castle on the edge of the ocean kinda like that new police island set. Some boats (not ships) as the smaller sets, a siege engine (of course - how could they resist)...

    I don't know about e (I doubt it), but c & d in Warcraft? F is in nearly every licenced product they produce, including Ghostbusters & Doctor Who. Sure there's a lot in Warcraft, but LOTR, SW, Jurassic World and many of those Disney movies have too.

    That about sums it up. Have a look online or in shops at this moment, you'll find more than a dozen different Lego sets with "castle" in the title. But that does not make them "Castle" sets, as useful as some parts may be.

    You forgot the shield is the new light blue grey, the original shield was in the light yellow grey.

    Yeah Myer was pretty cleaned out already, depressing to be at a 30% off sale with nothing of interest available. Any rumours of a Target sale coming soon? I noticed a few shelves of toys migrating to the promotional section in a couple of stores. A healthy amount of Hoth (wow does it look even more underwhelming in person for the price - the box is the same size as the TIE) so someone give me some good news. 20% off will do! Elves bakery is $30 at Target. At Kmart: School of dragons $20, Starlight Inn $30 and if you're lucky to find one (it's on clearance), Skyra's castle for $90. (There's stacks at full price at Target. Do they price match a clearance tag with no stock on the shelf?)
