It would be great, and they will never do it. Customising your own faction via Bricklink is about all you can do. I'm doing one at the moment, most of the way there. The limitations come from the flag/saddle/barding/plume/horse helmet colours available. You also have to make your own shield prints. Fortunately you don't have to make your own torso prints, because there are a handful of nice ones from fantasy era & kingdoms without emblems or faction colours on them - of course you can print your own if you want! I've found this to be an expensive exercise, more than expected.

It's interesting, because the term "action figure" is marketing ploy to sell dolls to boys without using the word "doll" - which has girl-y connotations these days. Those Funko Pop things don't do anything and aren't really designed for playing with either, so they're not really action figures or dolls, but statuettes purely for display. Making them bobble-heads shouldn't make them any more or less of a statuette, you'd think.

LEGO Ideas Discussion
Artanis I replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Well, we'll blame you for the extra months we have to wait before we get the outcome for this one! -
Just to clarify, the named character MUST appear in the live action movies, so any character from Rebels or Clone Wars that wasn't also in a movie doesn't count? So for example, Aurra Sing is okay because she can be seen (very) briefly during Episode 1, but Ventress is not enough because she wasn't in any of those 7 movies? Likewise for Rex, Ahsoka etc.

This will be a lot easier to build for than the Exo-Suit contest was, because I won't have to wait for the Maze to turn up before I can build my entry/s. Which is just as well, because S@H takes 3 weeks to deliver to me and I only ordered the set yesterday.

No, it will never happen: But surely..?: No: Remember the old SW magnet sets? You know why you can't get them like that anymore? Hasbro complained that it infringed on their licence. A SW CMF would never happen while Hasbro lives and breathes. And while SW lives and breathes, due to the licence, so does Hasbro.

Alien Conquest wave 2 was cancelled for Monster Fighters, I think. TLG had too many action themes in the works and they had to dump something. Pity, really. I think 1 or 2 cancelled AC sets looked very similar (with recolours) to eventual Galaxy Squad sets.

Yeah I meant for things like the base size and other details you wouldn't catch without having the set

Had considered getting the Hoth set, because it is a useful augment to an existing Hoth setup, or somewhere to start. But only 2 snowtroopers, no AT-AT, ANOTHER snowspeeder, and $400 are 4 very good reasons to turn it down. A few rebels, another tauntaun, some nice droids and a handful of installations is not worth $400 to me. I might even baulk at $250 to be honest. Sadly, the precedent for us is no discounts, due to how expensive it is for them to post ($200+) orders for free. It also appears that we don't get double VIP points either. Been waiting for today to order Kanan's bike & the Maze, now I have to find another $40 of SW to even get the minifig.

Bear Knights to Dragon Knights

How it should've been, or at least the shield should've been in those colours. Definitely an improvement over the original! That shield is brilliant. -
Check the in-depth review thread.

How funny (and terrible) would it be if the UCS Snowspeeder was a TFA one? "Bigger and better" than the old one

The what?

I saw the title and thought "oh no, that's sounds very bad! But I need to see it anyway" All of the details are very nice. Inside and outside. Star Wars hot-plates are great, I have not seen that before. But I don't like the lime colour here, especially with the blue roof. I would need to paint it if it was my house! I understand just how you feel when you don't have parts in a colour you want.

You keep saying this, and not listening to the response that the age written on the set box is not so much "kids this age will like the look of this" but closer to "kids this age will be capable of building this". Traditional Castle sets are relatively simple builds because it's primarily bricks and plates stacked on top of each other, but Nexo etc has a lot of specialised parts, non-stud connections and all types of angles. THAT is why the age range for those type of themes is higher. No 6 year old sees a 7+ set and thinks "I don't like it", they think "I can't wait until I'm old enough for that!". Younger kids are more interested in bright colours and crazy funny things than older people - that is what AFOLs are talking about when they refer to a theme as being childish, the aesthetic.

I forgot about this set! I was waiting for the May The 4th event to place an order, so it's not long now.

There was this for LOTR:

Prices are on Brickset

Feels like forever since the next wave of sets was leaked/revealed... I want the X-Wing and TIE/A-Wing sets already!

Looks incredible. Loved this show, well done!

I have to say that I was very disappointed the first time I saw it. But I thought about it more, and considered that it needs to set things up for the rest of the trilogy. That fixed a few of my biggest gripes, and some others aren't really all that important. I've seen it 5 times now, it's not my favourite but none of the other movies were perfect either. I rate it as 2nd, 3rd or 4th out of the SW live action movies so far.

Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Artanis I replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Yeah the blue colour is different depending on the source material. Luke's blue is very white looking, but in the animated series the colour is very full. I think medium or dark blues are more suitable for some other characters though. The update with the green was an improvement. And it's interesting that the source OT red is also very white, yet we get normal red Lego parts. -
Correct! Your turn "The exciting adventure of Paul [McCartney] on the floor"
