  1. Nice role-play, very interesting maze, and matching base - excellent! So can you complete the journey?
  2. Having now tested the original board with stuck-in-the-mud type holes rather than these true holes with ball return, I find this method more fun. Glad you like it Actually (although I'm not sure if it's the weight or height or a combination of other factors) my board feels more controllable than the main one in the set. (Haven't tried the 2nd one.) Besides having long walls to lean up against, it's like you can "aim" the ball a bit more easily.
  3. Really nice work. That evil wizard was pretty much made to be Zoltun Kulle. And it looks as though Lorath is glancing over at Kadala.
  4. That's definitely a sarlacc, but the figure on it looks suspicious. I can't tell if the octagon plate assemblies are from Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings.
  5. I'm still yet to build the original boards and test that. Might have time tonight.
  6. Maybe it's Pauly Shore dressed as a trooper. He could be "In The Army Now" or something.
  7. The working holes reduce the playable area to 22x22, and also require space for ball retrieval. And as mentioned already, adds more weight. So the added functionality comes at a price. I had to use as many grey arch obstacles as I could fit, because I have billions of arches, and it seems so wrong to not use as many as possible after running out of everything else!
  8. My board entry for the maze contest: it's a castle fortress! This maze board is raised-level, to enable the use of real holes. It is much heavier than a standard board, but works fine with the tilt system. It may be the case that it causes this board to require more careful gear manipulation. Any ball that falls into a hole rolls around under the "floor" and can easily be retrieved at the castle entrance, in a similar manner to public billiards tables. Apart from one high-risk short-cut, the maze has one path, and can be traversed in either direction. The video shows how this works both with the "soccer balls" and marbles. The original board when placed in the tilt system sat too low to do the castle appearance justice, so an extra brick was added below it as shown. (All vision is of the final version.) The inclusion of those bricks also makes it easier to insert & remove the board from the tilt system, it isn't easy placing a 24x24 brick inside a 24x24 hole. Enjoy a demonstration video, in which you may possibly catch my poorly acted vocal reactions. Flickr set Let me know what you think, and I hope you enjoy. I have certainly had fun playing with the maze...
  9. So when you are under suspicion for murder, she can supply a DNA sample to the police even though you are on the run. Mothers are always prepared for the worst.
  10. The Clone Wars episodes referencing his fate are still canon.
  11. I couldn't see the new image either, but when I clicked to "refresh" / "reload" the page, the new version of the image replaced the old one.
  12. (There was a pirate one?) As soon as I saw this image I GOL'd (gasped out loud). I can't miss this. Add me to the list of people finding $[insert local version of the promo] of Lego to spend...
  13. They already blew up the ice planet! Actually, if they do return to an ice planet, they have to use trans neon orange chainsaws and skis. Then the Lego sets would look like... something familiar...
  14. Not so sure it's greedy, but rather foolish. People only buy them from there BECAUSE of the discount they usually have. The afol will instead use S@H where VIP points & whatever current promotion (not to mention many months earlier) are available. Not as good as 20% off, 28% off or 3 for 2, but who would buy Modulars etc from Myer at 0% off when there are better options?
  15. Perhaps it is the other way around with the barding.
  16. The old horses are still good if you are building up armies or displays of old factions. (Well, everything up to and including Kingdoms!) The old helmets & barding don't work on the new horses.
  17. A decent deal?!? They are going for much more than that on BL! Of course, the brown ones aren't as sought after as the white or black ones, but still...
  18. For a moment I was thinking "What's a reskin? That's another obscure creature I have no idea what they're talking about"
  19. My Maze arrived today, I won't build it until later but I had time to check if the ball was 5 plates high / 2 studs wide (which was the impression I got from downloading the instructions) - and it is just under (deliberately most likely). 4 plates won't fit, but 5 will with just enough room to move. So you need 5 plates between the top of the tile and the underside of the obstacle.
  20. Meanwhile down south it is cold, dark & windy 2 weeks before winter, with thunder, lightning & pouring rain. No pretty little flowers or playful butterflies here
  21. You share a not-up-to-scratch project on a website with voting and comments, you will get negative responses. You don't need to upload yours to vote for other peoples good ones. edit: I agree with the guy above. I don't share my stuff that sucks, no one wants to see that, and it's embarrassing. They only want to see the good stuff (if any) that I come up with, or what is plausable as a Lego set.
  22. Because it is more fun for them to bury them in concrete under new buildings.
  23. That's very steep but cheaper than Bricklink at the moment.
  24. A lot of good ideas there. I could see most of these being made
