  1. Superman: "With my x-ray vision, I can see through this transluc... uh, nevermind"
  2. Thanks mate, we know we can rely on you!
  3. I noticed this around 2 weeks ago, when I was about to place my order, and promptly changed my mind. I haven't found any up to date info about what's happening over here regarding Elrond, and it's still a 3 week wait until release. I'm not too hopeful, and all this talk about people being given multiple minifigs is not helping my mood there.
  4. Ask for a cordless drill for Christmas... with a really tiny bit. Then why don't all the clones have that scar?
  5. The game itself I'm in no hurry for, I can wait until the price comes down, but I really want an Elrond - and unfortunately it's not looking good there. But in other news I just noticed Starcraft II Heart Of The Swarm's release date has finally been announced!
  6. One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest Interesting to see a much younger Jack Nicholson, Christopher Lloyd, Danny DeVito & Brad Dourif(!) - and the scary looking guy with sunken eyes.
  7. That's a concern I have about this
  8. Probably that it isn't seen favourably by AFOLs for the reasons mentioned above. I have all the sets (apart from an impulse set or two) and although I actually do like the minifigs (the droids aren't as good as the Insectoid, Spyrius or Explorien droids though) I have to agree that the big printed saucer parts are pretty useless for using in MOCs. The colour scheme in retrospect is pretty in-your-face (nothing unusual there of course) so unless you were a kid at the time of release and are wearing nostalgia goggles, it's hard to like the theme. That's my guess.
  9. Praiter Yed - 1 point Kristel - 1 point Aanchir - 1 point Some really good other ones in there too.
  10. There are tutorials on this forum about posting pics etc. You need to upload them to another site somewhere, (eg Flickr, Brickshelf) not on Eurobricks - we only have a very limited amount of space here.
  11. Haldir's the dude that captures the fellowship in Lothlorien too btw, for further confirmation.
  12. Yes, hopefully, but if we don't... (and there's no guarantee that we will). I honestly can't think of any other way to have a Frodo + ringwraith set except in the shire, which would probably be redundant due to Weathertop anyway?
  13. Why not a Nazgul on a fell beast? In the Dead Marshes or Osgiliath... or even better Minas Morgul (yeah, right!)
  14. One of his first sets. He said the same thing in the other video.
  15. True, but... Your arguments are sound as a general rule for licenced themes (including The Hobbit). Difference here being that LOTR films came out 10 years ago, the books even longer, and they aren't thrown in your face all the time like Star Wars. (Lots of kids would've seen SW, whether they got into it through Lego or CW or whatever.) Most of TLGs current audience probably haven't seen the LOTR movies (let alone read the books), so TLG makes cool looking sets to appeal to the kids but don't have to be from a memorable moment (but can be fan service for older fans of the franchise). I imagine that any non-AFOL adult/teenager not a big enough fan of LOTR to recognise Treebeard or be interested in the other hobbits probably wouldn't be interested in LOTR Lego at all anyway.
  16. 5th of December.
  17. great for some... Uh oh, I just noticed that EB Games (Gamestop in AU) no longer has the Elrond minifig advertised with the game pre-order (the release here isn't until December)... WHAT AM I GONNA DOOO?!? I was going to place an order today.
  18. Many have speculated as such ever since the original LOTR sets were first announced, so yes, many would agree with you there. It makes good sense to me.
  19. I'm not sold on that helmet's colours fitting with the rest of the minifig. Separately is a different matter though.
  20. To me it feels like they're back on Starbug again. Has been fairly good so far, but then at times it has the "all Doug, no Rob" (I mean that you can tell it's not a collaboration, but also some of the jokes are predictable) feel about it that later series had sometimes. I think the jokes & material were over-all better when the 2 of them were both working on it. This series is still pretty good though.
  21. Haha, too funny! Yeah, surely that's him. Love it. A physical minifig would be nice...
  22. I can rely on you to make a sensible positive comment regarding something everyone seems to be dissing over one issue... its scale. I think it looks great. Super stoked to see more clones and troopers. I must admit the only sets I probably won't touch are the OT sets, for the reason that I don't collect OT sets. (Gotta restrict the budget somehow) Love the look of the tank and the set boxes. Now just to get a good look at Pong Krell...
  23. But have you seen any Barbie merchandise? Pink, pink, pink, white, pink, pink, spam, spam, spam & spam.
  24. I saw a comment about the sewer lid, but I believe it is 2 parts. 2x2 round tile with either print or sticker, & a 4x4 round plate with hole (new part) - same as the windows on the Bag End set.
