LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Artanis I replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
In USA at least, TLG can only release SW construction sets, not SW board games, and Battle Of Hoth comes under board games. Someone else has exclusive rights to releasing SW board games there, just like Hasbro has exclusive rights for releasing action figures & TLG has exclusive rights for releasing construction sets. -

The Lego board game? It most certainly is, I got it months ago. It is not being released in USA due to licensing issues. -

How do you claim a refund from B&N? -
of course it was... I already have! At last we see some action, it's been a LONG build-up to this!

Review Monster Fighters 9468 Vampyre Castle
Artanis I replied to Artanis I's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I have added these to the original post (credit given of course), thanks for sharing! For anyone undecided about getting the kids/yourself a large set for Christmas, there's this one for AU$150, or Helm's Deep & Jabba's Palace for AU$200 each. I don't know what your local currency is, but I think that you get the idea. For what you pay, I'd choose this one over the others. Helm's Deep is awesome, but for the price, this set wins. -
I mentioned somewhere else regarding a possible 4-armed Krell previously - perhaps the thread about what SW characters don't we have yet, or season 4 of The Clone Wars - that there are a few different 4-armed minifigs TLG has made already: General Grievous (2 versions), Frenzy (from Space Police 3), Lord Garmadon & Samukai from Ninjago. My best guess is that we get something like Frenzy or Samukai, where an oversized head piece sits on a torso giving us extra arms and also a big belly, like the gamorrean guard etc. The Garmadon piece is too tall & skinny to pass as a besalisk.

Just realised Revolword is drow-lover backwards... -
That was an Aussie accent was it? I thought he was cockney to start with, then I wasn't sure. I'm pretty desensitised to these kind of movies, where some uncontrollable disease is going to wipe everyone out. Pretty much nothing they can come up with surprises or affects me much. I do admit though, the believeability of the characters was good. I like movies where the people seem like real people, with realistic behaviour.

Yeah, something along those lines

Been going through some "classic" (ie critically acclaimed or high profile) movies I haven't seen before. Last week or so: Goodfellas, Apocalypse Now, Total Recall (yes, the one with Arnie & Sharon Stone ) & Raging Bull. Robert De Niro used to be a decent actor & in decent movies...

Nice one

I think from memory I have 5. 3 between the castle & the drain and 2 the other side. I also have another unopened set, but that will probably just go into the sorting containers.
-
I think people are more concerned with worse issues, eg Ewoks, Luke+Leia being revealed as siblings after that kiss & Yoda's repeated "Luke!"..."Luke!" ... or distracted by slave Leia Good point, especially when we often hear about him being "the ultimate villain", he's just too chilled-out in that movie.

Choice Mag Australia's insult to AFOL's
Artanis I replied to BrickTango's topic in General LEGO Discussion
These are submitted by readers of the magazine. (Of course the editors don't have to include everything, they must've been desperate -and stupid- to include something like this though.) The "narrow-minded" (or ignorant) term can be applied to 1 of Mannie De Saxe, Phil Mason, Ethan Giacomel or Graham Philpott, whoever was responsible... Perhaps someone with a copy of Choice magazine can submit to "Hard Word" that page along with a signed letter from a bunch of AFOLs to say that Lego users over 16 - male AND female - are not so rare. -
Nice mini Star Defender

Should also mention that I noticed the medium Heroica sets were priced at $20. (Instead of $29.) On an extremely related note the new Heroica set "Ilrion" is now available on S@H, $29. For those who may have overlooked it, it has 8 microfigs including zombies & a vampire... -
Monster Fighters 2012
Artanis I replied to Darth Nihilus's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Our prices are perhaps a bit higher than UK, but much higher than USA. The main drawback to your plan, however, is that these sets haven't been sighted here yet but should soon as they have just appeared on our S@H. -

Myer secret sale tomorrow (Saturday), 3-for-2 on toys. Hopefully pick up the Uruk-Hai Army sets that B&N didn't deliver -
Considering you've blown your recent budget on sets there can't be much coming... jk
-
Yippee... after nearly 3 years the rest of my space minifigs have been returned to me! Now I can finally take photos of the complete collection, just have to get it all back out and reassemble the sets...

Thanks, and I agree. In time I'll swap the hatted ones out.
