MSFC Encounter with Mongoose & Caplets MagLev style monorails run across the mega-metropolis clouded in thick gaseous atmospheric conditions. The capital centre's heavily congested skyline is dominated by two towers, representing the rival corporate empires Mongoose and Caplets. A flying saucer drops in to perform an abduction for good measure! More pics are available in the Flickr set. Fits on a 16x16 plate, absolutely no overhang - but man was it hard work to get the rails to fit!

I've seen both, and while there are differences & similarities for better or worse they are both decent sci-fi action movies in my opinion. The remake is not perfect by any stretch, but at least worth watching once.

I see it as a way for mods to inform other users that the matter is being dealt with, or as a reminder to not engage in similar behaviour. If Big Cam hadn't said anything, some goose would've replied despite the private "chat" having taken place.

Birchall's has series 9 in, $4 each. 14 or 15 open boxes on Friday, I grabbed 10 packets and got exactly what I wanted (after feeling less than half a box). Knight & space orc thing are very easy to find. Will probably go back for more of them.

9 months! That is a very long wait... I seem to recall there was a long wait for SP3 & Alien Conquest to be released here too so it appears the sci-fi themes are always late, but surely not this late. I suppose that might mean we'll be getting something else earlier, maybe castle. In any case, TRU have the 3 non-blue-team sets available to send to Australia for cheaper than 25% off what our local price will be... Look out Kliq I'll be on your heels, haha.

ToysRUs.com with their Lego sale brings the prices down to what they are supposed to be in USD, so I thought I'd grab what Galaxy Squad & new Star Wars I could get through checkout. Hopefully it arrives not too smashed up. Even with postage it turns out cheaper than buying local at 25% off.

I have read that if you apply some heat you can just pull the whole thing out with pliers. Saves the sacrilege of cutting through ABS...

On topic: good news, thanks. Keen to get CMF & SW over & done with before Galaxy Squad comes out. Was expecting releases to occur next week though (mid month seems normal here), and couldn't come sooner as the Lego aisles have been ghost towns since Christmas. Off topic: turn the number for Arkham Asylum (10937) upside down and it spells LEGO! Yes, I grew up typing SHELL OIL into my calculator... and the other word too...

Direct To Consumer TLG sells it from their shop. Other retailers do not. I think. Correct me if I'm wrong, because it's different in Australia where there aren't any Lego shops - instead here D2Cs are the same deal as the "exclusive"/"hard to find" sort of thing: one particular retailer will stock it at some point down the track. Like the Kingdoms Joust, about 6 months after being released on S@H and in Lego stores (overseas), it was released here at Toyworld only. (Where it will remain unsold if they continue to try to sell it for $200.) R2D2 was at Target, modular buildings at David Jones etc.

Great job with these sets TLG. Hopefully they'll be available here soon & I can pick some up for myself. Thanks Kliq, I didn't realise how big the alien's craft were nor how good they look together. Downside? Seems the red squad sympathisers are right on the money... It's like red futuron all over again (except at least they had a base with 2 minifigs).

I'm working on one for this, but my eyes were bigger than my greeble parts available... Oh well, it'll be fun to enter something even if it is a bit plain. With the emphasis on "had"! Thank God you're staff (not that I was expecting to win anyway).

they are wearing skin coloured trousers? It never ever occurred to me growing up in the 80s that the classic space & futuron minifigs were pretty much naked (ie yellow all over)... I thought they were just wearing yellow - which was what TLG had intended, but at some point someone decided that yellow on minifigs was for skin colour only.
