Here you go, click see them all on Flickr -
Boohoohoo get over it. Uruk Hai Army is $60 here, equivalent to @$60USD, a mark-up of 100%. That's life, it sucks sometimes, but hey...

Some slopes and stuff on the top, I will get specific after I check again later. -

Yep, that was it! Not that I read the article, just the discussion about it. Memory doesn't quite work as well as it used to -

No different to usual, the discounts are separate, so indeed it is 28% not 30%. eg Original price: $100. After 20% off: $80. Further 10% off: $72. Total discount: $28. But it's still pretty good -
What do you do when the box art and instructions differ?
Artanis I replied to SheepEater's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I usually go by the instructions, not that it matters, but that's what I do. Sometimes images on the back of the box will be different to each other too. Often this sort of thing happens with minifigs. Pretty sure Boba Fett's cape is around both ways in the Desert Skiff box art. An interesting one for those who go by the box is this: SW Republic Frigate has different pieces included than the box art shows. I think the image on the instruction booklet is the same as the box, but the instructions themselves use the pieces included in the set. You'd have to go to your spare parts to make it look like it does on the box! -

That's what I heard, I think it was mentioned in the AC discussion topic when the concept art from the designer surfaced, or in CMF discussion when we found out some of the minifigs were unused AC minifigs. Probably the former. -

Myer have 10% off toys today ON TOP of 20% off Lego. No "Myer One" account, voucher or card necessary, it's for everyone & automatic. They have restocked LOTR again, so this is the best price locally. BTW I recall someone saying they couldn't find Malevolence anywhere - well Myer have had it, and it was definitely in stock today too. They said they didn't have any forms to sign up for Lego Club, don't know if that's across the board, but just use the docket number while signing-up online I'm told. My Orc Forges arrived today too, (gotta love when the Parcel Post arrives before leaving for work!) so I will be up late tonight having lots of fun... -
Monster Fighters 2012

Regarding the SP3 helmet: I for one was very much against the aviator helmet they used in the first wave, and I hadn't even joined Eurobricks yet to be any part of that discussion. The new helmet was a lot better. The problems were that in space you can't breathe in a helmet like that... and they didn't have airtanks either. Regarding Mars Mission (& Galidor for that matter): I was in a new-set-dark-age so I completely missed those themes. Not sure that is actually true. Alien Conquest wave 2 was pulled because TLG had so many new themes for 2012, including licenced ones they couldn't pass up. There would've been too many themes out at once to make business sense. Regarding Monster Fighters: there aren't that many unused monsters left for a 2nd wave, it could have some kind of reboot like Ninjago this year though. However, if there were going to be more sets next year, you'd think that then would be the best time to release the Haunted House, and not now. But who's to say there won't be more in more than a year's time... -
What do people think of this? Any good? Or not very orcish?

B, and Mini B: -
I think you just need to refresh the page until the image changes to the new one. Your browser on your home computer has saved the old version of the image. Since they are saved as the same file name, your browser is trying to be efficient by loading the same old version instead of looking up the new version. That's my guess, it often used to annoy me too.

So glad Peter Jackson and not TLG was responsible for the LOTR movies, at least his version reasonably resembled Tolkien's books... I just noticed the designer video for the minifigs. I really struggled at times to understand him, subtitles would've been good... Interesting to see all the possible combinations for the Uruk Hai though! 3x2x2x3x2=72 just by varying the headpiece, faces, armour, shields & weapons that come with the sets. That's not including the parts from Lurtz & the berserker!

I really like where you're going with the Warg & Witch King sets, the Balrog one could work with better execution (no offence intended - I don't think I could design one that good anyway). Not sure about the Gate one yet, interesting idea. The Corsair set is a bit unlikely, we only see them briefly and from memory only in the extended edition. But something else using the green skeletons perhaps inside the mountain? With an avalanche of minifig skulls? Maybe the skeletons could be GITD like the horse in Monster Fighters. I believe the King of the Dead should be made at some stage! I think for the Warg set, maybe 1 warg, 1 horse, Sharku + a different (generic) orc, Grimbold/Gamling whoevs + a generic Rohan soldier. A bit more setting would be required too I think, there's not enough "build". Make this set the same price point as Uruk Hai Army. Have you considered a Forbidden Pool or Osgiliath Skirmish set?

If there is to be a TV show, I imagine there will be more sets too, but who knows? (yet) -
My original avatar was a ray-traced yellow Futuron minifig photoshopped green. My Flickr account still uses this image. My next avatar was this same green image, but photoshopped to use (an Australian icon) the boxing kangaroo instead of the planet logo. The next (my previous avatar) was a yellow & green MLP:FIM image photoshopped to have the Classic Space/Futuron planet logo as the cutie mark. So I am continuing the tradition: a photo of Olivia photoshopped to make her green Futuron. (I am slowly working on making decal'd green Futuron minifigs for real too.) I don't know about making a real decal'd Friends torso, I don't think there are any plain ones. edit: updated version

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors
Artanis I replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I wouldn't go by that logic, since the recent non-minifig-scale UCS SSD has minifigs. I imagine it to be most likely that it will, unless you know something I don't -
Olivia joins the green futuron ranks...

Bought and built the other night. Was never going to get this set, the colours looked really awful, and the build looked really... plate-y, like vintage space sets, or something I would build . The minifigs weren't must-buy, but fairly decent. But in time I decided I would get it anyway for the minifigs, and I could use the parts for fiery lava or something. Opinion has changed about this set. I still think the colours aren't the best, a better colour scheme would make it a real winner. No stickers is +10 cool points. I had no idea that the wings folded out before having a quick peek at this review last week, and promptly leaving so as not to give away any other surprises (until I'd bought it and built it). Shame that this set is better than it appears, I don't think it will sell as well as it could've. I think I like the Sith ship better though, and that one looks good in the pics as well as in the ABS. I have to admit, I caught myself swooshing it and making nosedive noises whilst firing missiles at the Fury (followed by audible explosions) the other day...

I'd say you're probably right. Can't say I've looked at that one long and hard before, just skimmed over the thumbnail.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Artanis I replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
It's a rumour that has been around and around a few times. Whether it is true or not, we don't know yet. Besides, some say POTC sold poorly, others say it sold well. At least locally, the ships didn't last long on shelves, but it may be a different story elsewhere. I have not seen a Black Pearl since a week after they were released here, and QAR didn't last much longer, yet I see reports of the sets being marked at less than half price in other places. I think it may be true, but they might be waiting for another movie to release it. Who knows? -

Too late for me, and too bad for Myer, they got no money from me this time. Although the Lego Club membership would've been good, I got the voucher last year but didn't send it off due to unconfirmed changes of address in the works. Maybe next year... Local Target did well though, almost cleaned out of Lego. Did not see any R2s (but the 2nd time I went there was a label on the shelf where they'd been) or Diagon Alleys. LOTR has turned up everywhere except Target, and Myer has sold out (again). Friends looks to be doing well again too.
