  1. I like the skeleton king, those longer legs make him look in correct proportion. I've always thought that the skeleton minifigs look unproportioned with such short legs.
  2. Just realised after this long weekend of buying & building some new sets, that I think the models that would've been used for Galaxy Squad or its Sci-Fi replacement are used in new Chima & Ninjago sets. The Chima sets this year are very similar to the alien sets, and the Ninjago sets are obviously space ships... unfortunately for my taste, they are a bit over-the-top, whereas GS had a more mature aesthetic. I suppose that is added motivation for TLG to get rid of GS sooner rather than later, so that it doesn't interfere with sales of those two themes. (Like them or lump them)
  3. Horror, horror, shock & horror! Galaxy Squad is gone from S@H! Already! The 2nd half only came out here in September! 6 months?! Exclamation! Question: when is this SPACESHIP being released? I am in anticipation. I don't really want an oversized pirate ship, I want an oversized space ship.
  4. Really good, well done. Fits the Futuron theme very well. The modular aspect is excellent. Futuron never had a capital ship, probably due to the monorail. I think I might have a crack at making one some time. (Not likely to be this year though...)
  5. Yep, lucky I decided to hit up Myer just to see what was in stock, and unexpectedly encountered the sale signs. All the new stuff in. Ticking off the wanted list...
  6. I wouldn't have bought the books I have if they hadn't come with interesting minifigs.
  7. I saw this in the Coles catalogue the other day. No they don't look good, but at $2 that's a bargain for a cute little figure. I imagine these could be popular with kids, what being 2/5 the price of CMFs. I'm pretty sure if these came out when I was a kid I'd have bought them rather than footy cards. LT, how do they fare with interacting with Lego? (And can you put the head on the legs? I wanna see that! )
  8. I like the shape. I don't think I've seen that white support stand in a long time! If I could suggest something, it would be to add some more green trim. Maybe a plate or two underneath, or replace some of the white parts with green. Not too many, just a few. The front of the engines looks a little bit bare, do something cool there too.
  9. I think that it actually is the steering wheel part with the wheel pulled off. No jumper.
  10. Well done so far! Have you thought about how you can make it go the other way too? I would love to see this sort of thing with ramps & minifigs.
  11. Exactly. It would only be a different story if you received it in a sealed set from the BL seller. (In which case, you would have the instruction booklet.) Take it up with them, and if they won't reply or cooperate, report/bad feedback is the right thing to do. That's what it is for. If you get stuck with the misprint and don't want it, then as already mentioned you can find the instructions on the Lego website.
  12. Unfortunately it seems that way. The preliminary photo didn't have one, it was suggested that the final set would, but it doesn't look like it!
  13. I think the main limitation is that it would be too expensive to get height without compromising stability. The castle sets that went for many levels didn't turn out so well. The ones we got last decade & the Fright Knights castle were a step in that direction but were very insubstantial, and/or <insert that tiresome argument>. I think TLG could do something more vertical that is dolid enough, but it probably wouldn't look as good as the style they can currently get away with (unless it costs a fortune). Maybe?
  14. They should make a really tall tower with detailed exterior & interior, have an open back so that the interior & any play features are accessible, and add a giant tree-man thing to attack it. Do it all in black. I would buy that.
  15. I think this varies, some of my local retailers were cleaned out in less than a week of Hobbit sets, and never restocked. Others started with heaps and in time had an empty shelf for a week or so before re-stocking low levels of some sets. Other places have a tendency to keep their shelves full and neat at all times of every day, so the fact that there have been plenty of each set from release until now may be either due to no movement, high levels out the back, or constant re-ordering of stock.
  16. What a letdown... haha.
  17. I think it's just for while you build the set. I don't know how many times I shot myself over the years from spring loaded shooters because I put the missile in during the build. And yes, I did shoot myself with the new one. So I followed the advice of the instruction booklet with the second set. (That advice being: "put it in" *turns the page* "don't put it in")
  18. New Lego catalogue from Toyworld. Pretty much shows the new stuff for this year that is already available everywhere. Not a lot in the way of mark-downs, but they do have free polybags with certain purchases: Friends polybag when you buy $40 of Friends Lego, City polybag with $40 of City Lego.
  19. BARC Speeder comparison V-Wing comparison V-Wing comparison V-Wing comparison Clone Trooper evolution Clone Trooper evolution I'll also update my clone collection photo when I get hold of the 3 new ones I don't yet have.
  20. Woohoo! I can't remember what minifigs I'm getting, and the excited anticipation continues...
  21. Sorry I can't post a proper deeplink at the moment, but here is a photo of all my astromechs. The new one is at the front. You can clearly see the difference between the two.
  22. I keep boxes intact. They take up a lot of room... But if I have to move house (it's happened) I put the sets back into their box. I put as many boxes as I can inside another. Unfortunately TLG makes a lot of smaller boxes the same height/width/depth as larger ones, so you can't get it optimal.
  23. Again, I see no saddle. Looks to be something in the right-hand prison section. A skeleton or ghost perhaps? Looks white.
