My god! This thing looks incredible 'in real life'! Beautiful. It must have been one hell of a job to figure out how to build it...

Awesome build! That thing is huge... Loving all the details you've ut in there.

What a cool little scene! That bank facade is looking surprisingly good with what seems to be not a large amount of parts... The two face truck, well, you just can't go wrong with that colorcombo. Purple/orange just pops. And the Batmobile is just the cutest I've ever seen. Question: is the blue color different from the darker (earth?) blue from the Batman vs Catwoman on Catcycle scene?

Thanks for the props Sergio! in your thread too Heheh, I get your point. But mind you. This house started out as bonestock original. I gradually transformed it into what you see hear. Every now and then I like to indeed 'tinker' with it a little bit more. So, there you are...

^ The Batmobile got an upgrade! Bodywork all around. New pics at the start of this thread! I'll let them speak for itself. Here is one just for comparison with a Legend Beast from Chima. -

Best Chima legend beast for parts?
B Rick replied to Im a brickmaster.'s topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes

Wow! Outstanding build! Loving the gargoyls from what I can see. Indeed, I'm puzzeled by the vines too... You gave the rather simplistic blockbuster lettering a subtle curve which makes a huge difference. Really cool!

While spending several years on several forums I always found it very difficult to quickly see what other members I'm interested in have been posting in the past. Especially on a forum like Eurobricks its getting harder and harder to check out what they've been building. I found that using my signature as a link to a 'masterpage' where you can find everything in one first post is really helpfull. From there you can click directly to every seperate buildthread if you want to. Best of all it wil clean-up my signature in every post I make on the forum. So instead of four url's I now have only one. I hope to keep this up to date with all the weeks I've been doing to my creations. If I post new pics I'll let it know in this thread also. Cheers!

That indeed is good to hear. And I guess if Lego will release this building it will be even cheaper (read: less expensive) than when you buy seperate parts... Good to see the building next to an official set. Better yet, next to the haunted house. And omg, the HQ dwarves the Haunted House!!! I've build mine a bit bigger so I wonder how the HQ will sit placed next to my HH... Also in a whimsical mode I quickly mocced up a caricature version of the Ecto 1, which came out way better then expected, so now I just HAVE to have this HQ-set... I will now visit the Cuusoo site and check out the set overthere.

custom colored lego pieces [molding casting]
B Rick replied to kevin1990's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
That's a neat link! Too bad the story ends at the start of actually making the duplicate... I've been thinking about making custom parts myself. But rather than making 'new' ones, I'm thinking about cutting and sanding some pieces I already have... I just don't dare to ask advise here on EB... ;-) Another thing you could do is to try and find the piece you want in one of 'the other brands' sets... But I guess that will be sort of 'needle in the haystack'... -
Ah, my kind of builder! :) I do the same thing. I always end up finetuning my creation long after I posted pics for show'n'tell... That's exactly what I mean. I've used too many technic pins in my house and it became very hard to open it up without accidentally breaking it down... Even opening it up used to be a pain in the axle... Now I use only 3 pins and it's a grande improvement ...but I still kinda have to 'slam' it shut... ;-)
-
By this, you mean you tore these particular scenes apart already, without taking pics? And what are these 'Dutch events' I keep reading about..?
-
Wonderful build. Love it!

It's always good to have two (or more) of one set. It gives you a lot of freedom to mod the original, or, in this case, make a complete tower. It looks good, but I agree with the critism on the hinges. It would be nice if you coul open it in classic dollhouse-style... You're right about the top part of the tower sticking out, but you could come up with something to build/expand in the lowerpart to place some hinges perfectly lined up with the ones in the top. Another idea is to make the tower 'modular', floorwise. Also I'm wondering... Isn't eight technic pins a bit too much just to hold the two halves together? I used them in my Haunted House (which has hinges!) but had a hard time opening and closing it. So I deleted some and now it works fine. But maybe you don't have that problem... Happy building!

I like it! But now I wanna know what the front of the buildings look like...

[MOC] Holy schrunken Batmobile 1966 [ 7 stud wide ]
B Rick replied to B Rick's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks guys! Ofcourse, Mr Batman doesn't mind Miss Pussycat riding his rod once in a while (pun intended ofcourse)... Yes Only Sinner, 7 stud route has worked remarkably well for the Batmobile. There are some issues like the jet-engine fitting between those wingpieces. Since these pics I was able to improve this, amongst other details. I'm happy to tell you that I also have 'chopped' the windscreens, sectioned the body, and lowered the rear of the body. The car had too much of a hotrod stance in this smaller version to give it some groundclearance. By replacing the reversed slopes on the sides underneath The car was able to sit lower and still being drivable. But doing so I stumbled upon tireclearance inside the body. So another thing I changed are the detailing around the rocketlauncher. Don't know how I did it but I've managed to make the 'trunk' slope more evenly like it's big brother, or even like the real car. Now there are still just a few minor details that kinda bother me, like the slopes around the windscreens for instance... I need some other slope-bricks but don't want to canibalize my other builds. I made the mistake before of posting photos of my build just before changing it again, so I think I'll wait till I'm completely happy... ;-) EDIT!!! --- Oops! I think I have solved the problem! I've cleaned up the frontend which gave me the extra slope-pieces I needed to clean up the windscreen suroundings!! --- I'm as happy as a little kid playing with his Legos! ...wait a minute... ;-) -
[MOC] Holy schrunken Batmobile 1966 [ 7 stud wide ]
B Rick replied to B Rick's topic in LEGO Licensed
Status update April 19th 2014. The car has had major updates... First of all, I got the dark red wing pieces front and back! The double bubbletop-cockpit has more articulation and is moved forward 1 stud. It now features an all new detailed interior which I'll show whenthe car is finished. I managed to flatten the bodywork even more (1 plate lower) and has a lot of Batman gadgets which I'll keep under my hat for now... As I thought I almost finished the whole car I got another idea for the fenders. Not completely sure about it. I'll have to let it sink in... I know it's more acurate this way but I kinda mis the evil hotrod look my original design had... The wheels now have 5 studs between them instead of 3. At least I have got the red line dropped down. (Check the before and after shots in my latest update-post!) ______________________________ ^ I've been doing some brick-rearranging on my Batmobile again. In the color I've always wanted it to be. New Dark Red. I hadn't used that color cause I always thought I didn't had enough. I'm still missing some vital pieces but you'll see where this is going. I still need some hard to find 2x3 wing plates... In the photo's the car sits so low the rear wheel seems to dissapear. But when you look at minifig height it looks good. Just gotta believe me... Well, for promotional reasons I've raised the the rear by one plate. It has the hotrodstance like the version in white (below). ^Not sure about the frontend, but the rear definately has got to get some darkred wingpieces... ^ The car now has a more refined frontend. It still misses the wingpieces but at least it has the grilles now! The car now features some serious snot!! Pretty proud of that You may remember my first moc as an AFOL, the 1966 Batmobile in limegreen. Well, I was complaining about the incompatabillity of it with the modular buildings scale... It was way too big. Just like my Monster Fighters hearse, which I succesfully transformed into a 7 stud wide chibi-version. I didn't think it could be done with my Batmobile but today I gave it a try. The Batmobile didn't get the chibitreatment because losing too much of it's characteristic proportions. So in the end the schrinkage is not too extreme, but enough to fit the modular and minifigscale. Overall I'm very happy with the result. Enjoy! ^ While I was downscaling the car I managed to add some more acurate batmobile-details. As you may have noticed this car has white as it's contrasting color because I still don't have enough red bricks to complete the job... I may have to order some dark red 2x3 wings... Oh and I tried not to canibalize my original Batmobile but came short of two of these canopy windscreens... Hope you'll like my effort and please feel free to leave a comment! -
MEANWHILE... In Gotham City... OOPS!!! I just noticed the links to my project stopped working after Lego CUUSOO changed to Lego Ideas. Man that's a bunch of time I've lost collecting supporters. So, I've fixed the problem! Click HERE! So if you like my project, please follow the link and give it your support. The project is doing great, but still needs a lot of votes! I'm happy to anounce that I consider my Batmobile (dis)playset finished and that it's aproved on Cuusoo/Lego-ideas. If you like you can vote for it on Cuusoo by clicking right HERE! I present to you 'The Cartboard Crusaders' A random 1966 Batmanscene in GothamCity invcluding the Batmobile, to Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the television series that's coming up... Description: The car is relatively small with it's 7 stud wide build-up, yet big enough to hold 2 minifigures. Those figures can be placed and removed without taking off any part. I build this car with loads of playfeatures the original car also had: Atomic Turbine Engine, Bat-Radar, Rocketlaunchers, opening decklid to reveal the Mobile Crime Computer, Bat-shutes, Chainslicer in the nose, as well as a Bat-a-Ram, Aluminum dashboards, and last but not least, the Bat-Phone. Many have followed the Batmobile here on Eurobricks but haven't seen the newly finished display scenery. So here goes: The backdrop. (a short story) I picked a scene I instantly remember when reminiscing about the show: Batman and Robin walking the walls vertical yet very horizontal, in kind of a creepy very close together choreographed manner... But that's what made the show so fun to watch. Always a citizen in an open window. This time it's the beautifull Catwoman. Or is it... It happens to be a mannequin disguised as Catwoman to lure our Caped Crusaders into the Jokers trap. The Joker is standing on top of the building ready to cut the line... Because of this fake building (in this MOC, and in the tv series) I gave this project the name: 'Cartboard Crusaders'. So here it is. The one and only Batmobile. Let's take a look at some of the details... I've tried to cram as much in as possible: But I think this is the best part: It's fits two minifigs side by side which can be taken out of and put back in without taking off any part of the car. And I think the 7 stud wide size is perfect for minifig/city/town/modular-scale. Now all you have to do is VOTE on cuusoo, because you know you want it to be available in an official exclusive collectorsbox! Thanks in advance. And if you don't..? Well, Look what's bound to happen to mr. Joker... Please make a childhooddream come true and vote for my Batmobile HERE!
