For me, the most impressive moment of The Force Awakens was when the Resistance arrived to help our heroes against the First Order, their X-Wings zooming close over the water, throwing up some serious spray. A small vignette I`ve build for Mechelen Speelstad the coming weekend, this is a moc with a couple of firsts for me. You see, not only is it my first ever effort to use "forced perspective", it`s also my very first Star Wars moc I actually ever build. I`m more of a Trekkie you see, so yeah, with that license being at Mega Bloks I doubt we`ll be seeing sets of those soon. Well, at Lego at least, I`m definitly shopping the MBs when they come out this fall. The fighters used in this build are on the one hand a small set we received at the Happy Reunion 2016 event end of january this year, while the other is the one that came with the Star Wars magazine, though it did get a heap of modification. Grilles on the wings, cannons and wings turned otherwise, those kind of small things to make them look as two fighters from the same bread. All in all, if seen from the side the forced perspective worked out okay for a first time, and I`m quite happy about the size of the spray as to not become to dominating in the build. I hope you liked it, and see you around!

Settlement: Quinnsville, "Chocolate Island", Corrington
Tomsche replied to Tomsche's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
The Junkyard Fleet of Quinnsville It can be lonely out on the seas to be fishing all day long, in an effort to get some minor incomes. Pirates sail the seas, and if a single daring one stumbles upon you, Poseidon is awaiting you with open hands. So for that reason, Quinnsville, the headquarters of MAESTRO Corrington, together with it`s MAESTRO Eslandola companions, is setting out to offer some armed protection to these little class 0 fishermen, with the organising of a small Bounty Run under armed protection. WHO can join? In order to join the collective bounty run effort, anyone can enter these bounty runs with their class 0 or class 1 ships IF you are: * a Member of MAESTRO (doesn`t matter which side of the brand, being it either Corrington or Eslandola) * a citizen of Corrington (as the crown grants the use of the armed protection for this endeavor) HOW to join? Just put the name of the class 0 or class 1 vessel you want to join in the expedition, in the relevant topic. Entering closes the 29th of the month. (RL things make me fill out the forms 2 - 3 days in advance) -

May 616 - Corrington's Escorted Trade Runs
Tomsche replied to Mike S's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I would like to put the HMS Green Dragon on the Merry Lyric run, and the Tigerlily and Crepe Fruite on the Quick Wing routes please -
That is a lot of administration, daaarn The Junkyard Fleet of Quinnsville did another good month, ensuring the funds for the next phase of Quinnsville. Though i admit over the past two months I more or less lost count of the income and expenses in the book-keeping, though I have a "rough" idea on the size of the bank and the personal treasury status...

One of the things that tend to happen (often) in Brethren of the Brick Seas, is that ships are captured and change hands, both from players and from NPC's. As a result, the Empire of Corrington has a whole warfleet in drydock, waiting to be moc'ced up, and I took it to myself to build one of the smaller ones we have lying around, a class 2A, the Cod Hunter. Normally, she will be assigned to the defences of my settlement of Quinnsville, as a small harbor defence and I`ll be playing her that way in the monthly MCRA`s as well. I wanted her to look `un Corrington` in colours and all, as she was a captured armed sloop, and recrewed her with Corrington sailors and marines while retaining a piratey sail for her. Of course, the flag of the Empire flies from her stern as well. And the Cod Hunter breaststatue of the ship, depicting, well, the Cod Hunter. A look at one of her four small 4 pounder, brick build cannons. I hope you like the little boat, because someone needs to give some lovin` to the little ones in a world of ever growing behemoths of the seas...

Based on the second movie of the Harry Potter franchise, I just wanted to build a MOC for the duelling club. Contrary to the mainstream, Professor Lockhart was always one of the characters I liked more in the films and especcially the books (shame they didn`t bring him back in the later movies), and of all the movies the second one remains the one I like the most. So I went out to build the duelling club scene where Snape and Gilderoy face off, and the Defense against Dark Arts teacher is quickly disarmed by the Potions master. I wanted the scene to represent the blast from Snape`s wand, disarming Gilderoy rather forcefully, while the students from Slitherin and Gryffindor watched. I opted for the older `yellow skin` on the minifigures (okay, bar Snape, he is the glow in the dark version). I also tried to make the rug on the table look a bit like the crescent patterned one on the table in the movies. I`m rather happy with how it turned out, and this is one of the two Harry Potter moc`s I`m building for the conventions season this summer, hope you like it!

Note it down in the log mr Wibbs. After days of sailing and avoiding possible pirates, the HMS Green Dragon has arrived at Belson. Let her majesty rejoice in the deliverance of her well craved for banana`s.

AAAh, no problem, I`ll just have an extra mattock installed then

To my esteemed collegue Sir James William Chase I have well received your letter of recommendation, and look forward to meeting your former governess, the lady Ward. I do not object to her appointment and have no problem with a lady holding the position of schoolmistress, though I do take she will be behaving herself in a manner of dignity and virtue. The life out here can be rather, rough, at times, and the local inhabitants might be a bit more then she might be used to in her former job. I will make sure lodgings will be arranged for her and look forward to her arrival Yours sincerly Sir Thomas Smaugton Mayor of Quinnsville Founder of Maestro Corrington

Chihuahua being the name of the hamster in question To which i oppose to the fullest, because come winter, this guy can go out in rain and wind then to let out her bling bling chain, pink coat wearing vermin, to which i must make sure it doesn`t get airborne if the wind blows. No, just NO (and that goes to your vig idea as well Phred!)

[COR - FB3 apr] Clam and Cup Coffee Burnery
Tomsche replied to Tomsche's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Actually his expression is based on a certain Belgian tourist who wanted to taste that very, very expensive coffee and after shelving way to much money for a cup learned on how it was made... Hmmmmmm, SKA, how does it work for a coffee emporium in the game! -
Nice build, and a great reference with the hatch :-)
