Hello there ya scourges of the Sea of Storms I know why you all wonder, why would some upstuck Corrington governor write us a letter? Well, you are right on the first three account... I`m upstuck, I`m from Corrington, and I`m a governor... The governor of Quinnsville to be precise, and I write to you with a request. In these times of wars and the events that appeared in the King`s Port Advertiser, I thought it might be nice for you sailing boys and `free entrepreneurs`, to have perhaps a small bit of rest and relaxation on the paradise of chocolate, Cocovia. So why not send one of your undertaking fella`s over, and start a small business overhere, like a tavern, or a house of light sins? In the hope of hearin` from y`all Sir Thomas Smaugton Mayor of Quinnsville Addendum: armed brawls will not be tolerated in the settlement, and both the Marine division and the stationed Royal Fleet are allowed to end these in any way necessary -

Tomsche replied to Sebeus I's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
To the royal house of Oleon As word travels slowly to the colonies, I would like to offer my condolences to the family and kingdom. While historically our nations have not always been on the best of terms, the loss of a monarch is always a moment of common grievings. Even though this might sound not as much, as the mayor of Quinnsville I would like to reach out a hand of faith and trust, By offering the faith and descendants of the monarch a small plot on my grounds, To erect a small shrine dedicated to the late king, and allow passage for pilgrimage to this jewel of the seas. Yours in mourning Sir Thomas Smaugton, Mayor of Quinnsville -
Okay thanks, just send in both of them to license the square fountain as a Cultural entry then

Anyone have an idea when the updated webforms will arrive, the FB one still links to march, and the property license one still lacks the education and arts selections. Nothing urgent, I`ve stuck a post it to the pc to remind me of checking it now and then in order to not forgetting to do this ;-)

[COR - FB3 apr] Welcome to Quinnsville: The Tour!
Tomsche replied to Tomsche's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
All apart from the big central red one, she only had her steps featured in an MCRA result, as it is a recycled build from GoH two years ago, with new inhabitants ;-) But they are all in the Quinnsville settlement thread -

[COR - FB3 apr] Welcome to Quinnsville: The Tour!
Tomsche replied to Tomsche's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Yes, but even bigger -
With the dockmaster office uploaded earlier today, my first phase of the hamlet of Quinnsville is ready. The jewel of the Chocolate island, she is a private owned settlement in the Brethren of the Brick Seas building game over at Eurobricks, and will be expanded on with 48x48 plates as the story progresses. But now that all the `modules` have gone on the plates, and those have been build up with roads, the waterside and everything else, this took actually more effort then an actual building moc, and now I can unveil her in full. She will also be on display this weekend in Wetteren, at the Brick Mania Wetteren Lego event`s pirate lay-out. The whole hamlet as it stands now, consisting of three seperate modules. The central part is the one with the various small buildings I made for it so far, while the fort sits on the western beach, and the sailor`s market on the eastern. A side from the garrison fort`s position, looking down the main street. The studs making the central road in the city itself do carry over into the sand for a while to make it look like a gentle beginning and ending of that road. The busy main road, with Sir Smaugton breathing in the fresh air of his endeavour, as the population starts going about with their new life on the frontier. As you can see, all the previous builds rank up nicely on both sides of the central road, while the waterside fluently goes over into the modules at the side, creating the impression of one big, fluent baseplate. And now, work on `phase 2`, or the second 48x48 baseplate, has begun in order to make her expand to both a Town in the game, and a bigger part for Brick Mania Antwerp in november! Hope you like her, and feel free to build in this growing settlement for the game. Because remember, WE HAVE COFFEE!!!!

"Well doctor, if you follow me, I will accompany you to the dock." Sir Smaugton took the lead, as a rather eccentric doctor and his two not that unattrictive students followed pace from the residence that housed their little "science club". He would see them off, as they boarded the HMS Green Dragon, the fastest transport ship available in Quinnsville, and set sail to meet with his friend Felipe de la Manzana in the settlement of Elysabethtown. There, they would help senor de la Manzana in studying the local tribes people. Of course, he had "forgotten" to mention to them the Dragon was also the ONLY ship available for the voyage... "Hold!" A gruff voice rang out. The scientists froze in their place, but Smaugton just grinned. "Aaaah, dockmaster Caynayn, what a lovely day. I`m here to bring these intrepid explorers to their transport." "Fine, but still, I need names for the records." Caynayn growled. "Of course my man, we all have to do our duties" the lead scientist smiled widely as he stepped forward. "I am Doctor Gellibrand, nice to meet you!" "Doctor... who?" the old dockmaster grumbled as he started noting down. "Gellibrand! And these lovely ladies are my companions, miss Donna and miss Clara!" This build is my second contribution to a story I`ve been helping on, hope you like it. The office itself will be licensed as a small commerce, as the settlement always needs one to keep the paperwork going of incoming and outgoing sailing ships of course. And with this one completed, I can finally make a proper introduction for Quinnsville herself :-)

Well, that`s what i need to pay for her, being then my fourth ship of my rag tag fleet (50% of the 50 DB license cost). Shall I contact Ska for the transfer of ownership and where those 25DBs need to go?- 897 replies

Slowly catching up on this thread (didn't know it existed), but on page one that is one thing I'm firmly against. Quality is one thing, but 1. not everyone is as skilled as builder as some others, no matter how much critique is given to help, some just can't hit that right note 2. not everyone has an unlimited amount of elements 3. if "historic accuracy" becomes a thing, this is no longer a builder community game, but a scale modelling contest

If no-one wants her say within one week, send her my way and she will be added to the Junkyard Trade Fleet of Quinnsville. I`ll happily shelf down the 25 db extra license cost on her, and she`ll be spending her days until she goes under in my escorted trade runs I`ve been doing for 2 months now of a class 0 accompanied by a class 1 armed galley , which so far has yielded a full 8 doubloons muahahahaha And you can keep the moc results if she ever sinks without problem :-)- 897 replies

I know this might step on a few toes, but why not limit the amount of ships and max level in time during BOBS? See it a bit as like the historical progression as as ships grew taller and better over the course of a few centuries, as navy`s kept expanding. For example, year one, a player can own three ships in the first 6 months of the game, and up to 6 from month 7 to 12, with a maximum of class 5 ratings. Then the first half of year 2, the amount remains equal, but the ratings go up to let`s say class 8. The second half of the year, the rating stays 8 but the amount goes up to 9. Repeat this sequence in year 3, with amount staying at 9 but max rating the top (level 10), and the second half of the year the rating remains topped and we go to the max allowed owned ships to 12. That way, all ships class brackets will have `more or less` their 6 months to shine (and try to obtain DB funds for bigger ships), wthout the sudden appearance of 1 or 2 big behemoths that would rule the wavesm phasing out the little guys in one swoop and make the whole of Bobs just one big, fast arm`s race. It would also make the whole whole `upkeep administration` not necessary as everyone could top out at the same amount of ships of equal class for a 6 month period. And with the propsed sequence, we would be set until new year`s day 2019... so I guess that would be a nice planning. This wouldn`t prohibit people from building really big ships, they just wouldn`t be able to license them until that `phase` (or Age of Sail) opens up, but can still use them as story mechanisms, which is something the game is all about isn`t it? Just my two cents...

TBH, I don`t even see personally a difference between flesh / yellow / whotnot figs. For me they are just figures from Pirate lines, and scattered around my city in whatever fashion I just put them down, regardless of colour. Heck, I even tend to throw in Friends dolls and such here and there. it`s just that to me, a simple figure of a toy line

True, I just keep my hunk a junks around till they are basically sunk... or until the lay out season on events is finished ;-)
