  1. My second phase of the Walls build
  2. Even though currently there are some tensions between Mitgardia and Kaliphim over a pirate incident, the hill and mountain passes in the southern part have walls between rocksides. Though these serve mostly to mark regional borders and often have open gateways, they do have some armed guards to check the passing travellers for unthrustworthy characters. In times of war or even all out invasion, these gates are not only easier to protect as you need less warriors and force the enemies into bottlenecks, they can also be barricaded for added defensive value and closing off the inner lands. In these warmer southern regions, these often consist of the vicious and fearless BEARDLESS warrior women of Mitgardia. But on a normal day, you can just see a lot of odd figures passing through, like Northern Wolfmen and Kaliphim tradesmen, all going about their businesses.
  3. If the Black Pearl and the ship from LotR made a lovechild... A very good looking, sleak and menacing ship, great job
  4. Wowza, that is one mighty boat!
  5. It is a sensitive topic with (some) AFOLs, but today I blogged about my look at some of the clone brands. That is, I`m still 100% pro our beloved danish bricks, but once in a while I allow myself to get astray, mostly well, because they have a certain license and I don`t have the skills to build something from that franchise out of scratch...
  6. Congratulations! *Hearty Applause*
  7. Though for a hold of wenches and barrels of ale my vote can be swung, I cast these for ower military leadership: Hersir of Archers: Wat Tambor Hersir of Infantry: Gunman Hersir of Cavalry: Garmadon
  8. See, we are so glorious we don`t even need to advertise anymore these days. But ofc novices are welcome, they have me around after all ;-) (I`m just out of a 20 year dark age myself since november or such, the half year before that I`ve only been building out of the box sets as well)
  9. Okies, i`m putting this here because I want to share it with the world while singing in the rain ... and because I`m Mitgardian ... and because it hoists the proud green livery of our land ... and because I don`t actually come outside this forumpart tbh I proudly present, my newest EXTREME Lego collector`s item CnC as welll as donations to pay the medical costs after the `powers that are` sees this tonight are more then welcome
  10. Kaliphim children dream of eating hallucinating shrooms?????
  11. That answer can be found Yes, it was the inspiration for my build *shame*
  12. Thanks, it was `dual purposed build` to cope with no matter which side I ended up in. If I had been plague hunting, the flames would have showed something along the lines of `go to the coast` or such, and hint at a perhaps possible connection with the invasion, so to be sure I had my base covered and can spend my time from now to deadline day on the category B build. Also, considering it is Star Wars Day today, there is a subtle reference hidden in the flavor text, it was stronger then myself to not do that ;-)
  13. Here is my Category A entry, now to wait for the mailman and the BL orders for part B
  14. Here it is, my category A entry for the Book II of Guilds of Historica - The Avalonian Challenge. I was swapped camps again, having ended up in the end by the side of my choice, the building of defences and gathering information on the Drow invading the kingdom of Avalonia. As a proud Mitgardian, Hagen went to see a fabled oracle known as `the Fox`. For this, he had to travel through the woods of Nalderic, fiefdom of the lord Simon who is mustering the forces for a rugged defence against the Drow, setting up defensive lines, camps, roadblocks and garrissons. He does not share the vision of waiting for the enemy coming to his doorstep, and has decided on taking the fight to the enemy in an attempt to quarantaine the thread. But where are they exactly? How strong are their forces? Arriving at the recluse, the Fox asked for the offer. Hagen produced a decapitated head of a Drow from a bag, only be put alight by the oracle. "The flames will let us see his memories" the oracle pronounced. "To many are there, and you will need allies. The Avalonian is mustering the Elven tribes, but there is another, oft forgotten one." Hagen stared at the flames, not sure what the oracle was seeing. All he saw where sparks as the flesh crisped pitch black "Search out the Sanguine Elves. In days long gone, their once mighty kingdom, build upon the premises of the Forcia Arcanum was overrun by the Drow. They are still out there however, a former shadow of themselves, but the Lord Simon will welcome all they can muster. The Drow are many!" "Take this map, it will guide you to one of their hold outs. Convince them to join the cause, bring their powerful magics to the fight. And see if you can gain their allegiance, for mighty they are as allies, but fearsome they would be if they oppose thee..." With those words, Hagen sets out, a wrinkled map in hand, words that barely made sense, and the knowledge he has barely a few weeks to find a tribe of Elves that hasn`t shown their faces for centuries...
  15. Wasn`t necessary per se, but thankies. Now to the building cave!
  16. And they say the Road Runner was fast...
  17. He bar lucky me, I ended up investigating a plague instead of battling drow. Oh well, luckily my Cat A is in the progress of being build by being `flexible` towards both sides, as I started it before knowing sides, so it doesn`t matter.
  18. Don`t mind at all, I might even learn a dozen or two things
  19. Let`s say that after toddling, trashing, crying like a baby and almost tossing my bricks through the window, it`ll be more `in style off` the Sin`dorei ;-) I just can`t get my hands wrapped around the circular builds, but the thing is progressing nicely, just waiting for a BL order atm to finish the structure, then having a look at how to fill up the baseplate It won`t be Silvermoon (or more exactly, the party house in Everwoods), but it`ll be identifiable to WoW Sin`Dorei players... I hope
  20. I even featured her on my blog this morning http://tomsche69.blo...-challenge.html
  21. Aye, the `idea` was to get her smooth and needle like Ortanc, but it seems towers just aren`t my thing. I struggled with the phase 2, and now again. I`m trying out something different with a build for the Avalonian challenge, if that works out, I got a fresh idea to tackle on this one. If not, i`ll just start building something completely different I think
  22. Awesome build, she even `looks` fast
  23. That sir, is one mighty impressive vessel!
  24. I really love the texture and architecture of the building, great build!
