Hello all, I got approved for the Lego Ideas support raiser yesterday with my `Tundra Bull` moc, and now of course am looking for intrestees to cast their vote. May I take a minute of your precious time to surf over and support this little poor wooly animal It`s actually the very first time I try that platform of Lego, and even though i have little hope of it reaching the 10k mark, one can keep dreaming.

Thanks for the comments. The GF kind of pushed me to finally try out that whole Ideas thing, so I bit the bullet and submitted it, getting it approved for gathering support today. I don`t expect it to ever reach the goal, I`m already going to be very happy if I`d get to 100...

I definitly recommend it for a Lego fan, or a LoTR fan, it looks impressive in the living room. About the bright bricks, I don`t really care why they do it, but you can see zilch of them when it is build, and it is in the whole model only about half a dozen anyways.

And immediatly had to build it of course, so after 7 hours, this graced my shelves

Here is mine The Tundra Bull

Thanks all! It was a misery to get myself going on this, as my bloggie has more blah blah about the beastie. Don`t see myself try to build animals soon though...

Aye, I saw it as a lovechild between the Pokemon Donphan and the Great Yak from WoW ;-)

Tundra Bulls are hairy, smelly, vicious and ferocious, lumbering brutes that live in the northern tundra`s of Mitgardia. But fortunatly, they also aren`t to bright, making them suitable to become tamed by the barbarian tribes to serve as pack animals or war mounts. When steered into battle, the `driver` usually does no more then whip the beasts into a frenzy and then hanging on for life, as the bulls charge wildly forward, trampling whatever they meet under their massive feet, or try to skewer it on their elongated tusks. Friend or foe are threated equally though in most cases, so usually the bullriders are put a fair bit forward of the battlelines... Hope you like my first attempt ever on a `brick build` beast...

Very good looking beastie!

This evening I was visiting the parents in law, and amongst the toys for all their grand children was the old Lego City (back then still called Legoland) car wash and petrol station. While we where waiting for dinner, the mum-in-law told me she still needed to disassemble the whole thing, and since my beloved one was busy on her tablet, I volunteered for the job. And then I looked at me GF, went all big eyed and smiles, and said... "I can... I can... I can build a spaceship!!!!" Okay, so I probably couldn`t, having only a few good `buildable` bricks for doing just that and like half an hour before dinner was served, but never the less I did manage to come up with this thing I actually think the nose came along pretty well, but the cockpit is to square, and by the time I started the wings, time was running out, and dinner was getting cold. But I did swoosh him just for the fun of it..

I really like this story! Maybe some small detailing on the `duel` pictures, but it is a great thing!

In the lands of Kaliphlin, there is a small region dedicated to the lores of the elements and who live by a code of honor amongst their warriors. yellowish in skin hue, these people forge the most fearsome blades, thin and elegant, but deadly to the touch. When I joined the Guilds of Historica, my mind was pulled between two guilds to join: Mitgardia, land of Vikings, ice and snow, and Kaliphlin, the land of deserts. What pulled me to the latter is that on their map, they had this small oriental inspired isle, so it was a decision between the chance to build oriental inspired themes, or to build with light blues and whites. I admit that in the end, the Age of Mitgardia `in guild` build event has swung me to my home guild, as the evolving steps give a chance to evolve as a builder as well, and the fact that I just had a lot of grey, white and viking suited bricks did help as well, as there was no need to immediatly go shopping for trainloads of tan bricks, a colour that didn`t exist when my Lego was stored away and I entered my Dark Ages 20 years ago... But I tackled this shrine as a freebuild none the less, I had the Kimono Girl from the minifigures collectible series, and the ninja like henchman that guards the shrine in secrecy from a small Turtles set (the Michelangelo / Klang one). And it is build with yellows from the actual infamous Yellow Castle, my first Lego set I was consciously aware off... One of the things I wanted to include as scenery where the typical japanese trees that bloom only a short time, which I think worked rather well in the end, and the actual `shrine statue`. The statue was a grey `Norbert` dragon with some grey microfigs that worship the dragon, the flames for added dramatic effect. The roof caused a bit of an issue. I thought I had 5 golden horns, so when the Smurf asked if I had one for use as a magic wand for his Harry Potter range, I gladly gave him one... only to figure out a few weeks later I actually only had 4. And I couldn`t get it over my heart to break into his room and `acquire` the horn again (it DID cross my mind though ;-) ), so Bricklinking and waiting for the mailman, and I could finish the build past thursday. So that is it for the moment, all my future MoC`s are still in the `rough planning, need to get started on them soon` phase, but I`ll keep you all posted when something new rolls off the desk hehe Cheerios!

I always have had an intrest in the ACW (American Civil War) even back when I was still wargaming, and for Independance Day I decided to build a small vignette. Though the adress itself was given the 19th of November 1863, it was a direct follow up to the events of the Battle of Gettysburg, fought from the 1st to the 3rd of july that year. Ever since the The Lego Movie contained an Abraham Lincoln minifig, I just knew I had to use him for this. I scored the web for some more western styled minifigures, as I already possessed some of the Union Cavalry men from the old Western range, and needed some `attendees` for the speech. Like the real event, I decided to keep the setting simple. A grassy field, some spectators, a podium and Mr President himself. The cool thing about the Minifig is that he is actually holding a printed tile, and the words `Four Score and Seven Years ago`, the intro of the famous 266 word speech, are clearly readible on it. Of course, Lego being all about imagination and having fun tongue in cheeks, I couldn`t resist hiding some `celebrities` in the gathered crowd...
