Age of Mitgardia (free-build-challenge)

Storehouse Phase Three -
"Rich! I am filthy rich! The richest girl in all the village or Merak!!!" Catharina could barely contain her enthousiasm. She had made it at last, rising through the ladders of society. She remembered the day she had to "manage" a simple cabin, and now she looked at the activity that surrounded her. Her storehouse had finally been finished, a grainery added and just in case some competitors would get bad ideas, an armed guard stood watch over the domain. Talking competition and bad ideas, she had used the wealth comming in to bring that old fool that had assigned her to that god forsaken cabin under her employment. And she had sworn to herself she would be making his life very, very miserable, as he would be responsible for counting and recording all the food that entered her storage facility. Or better said, he would be held responsible for all that didn`t... "Yes", she thought as she eyed the large lump of gold from a sale earlier that day, "hell has no fury as a woman with ambition". And feeling innerly satisfied, she took another sip of her very expensive Kaliphinian wine. Here the latest instalment of the Storehouse tree, in a bid to claim for myself that one cool title: Manager. As I incorporated my phase One into my Phase Two, I now did more or less the same by adding a whole fresh `wing` to the phase two build, made around the medieval idea of those grainery `bunkers` you sometimes see popping up in the history books. To add more volume to what is essentially a doorless, windowless, trapdoor in the roof `block`, I tried and build a security post over the silo itself, and add some life to the scene by also adding a trading stand where the villagers of Merak could come and barter for their needs. I hope you like it, and that hopefully there is progress noticable between my early mocs and this one.

Book II, Challenge I, Cat A - Ambush from the Waves
Tomsche replied to Tomsche's topic in Guilds of Historica
Hagen likes the new trend of yellow hotpants ;-) It was about the only way I could include the green and yellow into my sigfig, hence I went for the flesh colour head. @ Gunman; an old beast, Panasonic DMC-LZ2, but the problem is more the lackt of a decent picture area, I have a (cheap) light tent but no space to put it open, so I`m dependant on box arobatics and daylight which in these days ain`t that abundant -
RESULTS INCLUDED: Book II- Challenge 1- The Battle for Nocturnus.

Here is my challenge 1, category A entry -
"Come and meet me near the beaches of the Goolaf Archipel. Nocturnus is in danger, and we are looking for all our allies to face off against the incursion of the Black Spire..." the message had read. Hagen had decided to answer the call for help, and had a small ship set sail for the tropical beaches. Nocturnus. It was a long time since he had heard from his friend, and now he could only decide to help out. peace with Mitgardia was fragile at best, and he did not want to think of the consequences should another ruling body mount the throne. An all out war was the last thing he had on his mind, he thought when walking the small planks that led to the beach. The waves gently crashed against the sides of the rocks, as he suddenly heard a splash. The moment he turned around, the water broke and a hideous fish-man thing jumped out, aiming a vicious harpoon towards Hagen. "30 seconds he thought, I`m here for bloody half a minute and already it seems the Black Spire has send agents to stop us from all gathering and defend the capital..." Here is my entry for the first challenge, better late then never to the party, ZC has sided me with the Nocty boys themselves (though he does need to update the list still it seems ;-) ) and I decided to give it a try on having something watery for the duel. With the 2k of mostly small transparent bricks I hauled out of the PAB wall this week, i now have the materials compared to my earlier MoC`s to try my hand at some more things, like the gentle waves of the water and the breaking of the surface by the appearance of the antagonist. Hope you like it! For the university of Petrea Doctorate program, I am looking for the credentials on the following themes; Hydrology - flowing water General Building - minifig posing

Very great builds, a nice rustic feel to them. And I really seem to have missed some awesome torso designs in my lego `dark age`... to the toy store! -
Those bushes are wonderfull, great build

Very pretty build, I love each 'episode' of it. The tower is drop dead gorgeous, love the slave chariot and the use of winged Chima crocs a great idea

As promised, HERE the full breakdown of my very first trip Over 4000 pieces, not to shabby and definitly worth it imho
-
I'll do the sorting somewhere this week and picture them aye I consider it a better deal then a set anyways, as for a 16 euro set you get about 75 pieces, and unless you grab bigger parts, your way over that number anyways...

Having only a brandstore nearby since rather recently, today I went on a journey and how to see what that 'brick wall' is all about. Well, i knew it, but I never used it... The full report can be found at this little page: Brickwall Now to sort and start building...

That is disturbingly fantastic, I really love the 'play' between all the characters, especcially the royal couple watching the 'spectacle'

RESULTS INCLUDED: Book II- Challenge 1- The Battle for Nocturnus.
Tomsche replied to ZCerberus's topic in Guilds of Historica
Is there still a spot in this challenge for a brave Mitgardian vassal who got caught in heavy snowstorms? (which is a funny way of saying I thought I couldn't join in perhaps as I registred on the forum after the 1st of november) -
One thing I wonder though as it isn't completely clear for me how it works, is there anything I could 'claim' for trying the doctorate programme?
-
Unfortunatly not, daylight these days has gone by by the time I get home. Now, it`s mostly stacked crates and barrels, nothing to fancy though

Storehouse phase 2 , including the original phase 1 into the build -
"Life is finally smiling down on me" Catharina thought. Her small cabin annex storage, well, cave was a more accurate word, had been expanded in a big way. Behind the small cabin, a whole storehouse had been erected, and supplies had been put in the building. Even trade was starting to pick up pace now, and she could see the gold coins already flicker in her mind`s eye. Great plans of adding an extra wing to her storage facility where already forming, and she would definitly need a silo or something. "Yes, diamonds are a girl`s best friend, but I can do with gold just as well" she said to herself as she took another swill of wine and grinned... Here is phase two of my storehouse, expanding on the small cabin (which has even been incorporated in the building with some additions like a closed up side) with a large building build to it`s back. Airholes included to keep the food fresh ;-) While trade is picking up as the villagers of Merak check their shopping needs... Hope you all like it (a little bit)

I`ve updated my phase one walls with the suggestions of bigger base size etc. http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=89009 -
I`ve updated the build with expanding a bit on the base size as suggested, in order to add some extra detailing in, as well as give tree building a go;

Yep, that was the one that got me here and intrested in the GoH
