Avalonia Task 3- The Geography of Ambalar
Tomsche replied to Bacon Potatoes's topic in Guilds of Historica
A very nice touristic flyer, I might indeed consider it as a vacation location. Great work! -
The Eras of War! (EoW) is one of the groups I`ve been recently invited to join on MOCPages, and which is about the same style of building short stories like Guilds of Historica on Eurobricks. The setting is loosely based on ancient Greek history, with the Alympians being the greeks of myth, Bastonians being `our` Dark Age style, the Ozazari a race of desert people and the Maulosians a small island kingdom founded by pirates. Wait, pirates? Island population? *Looks over his figure collection* I think I have chosen my faction really fast hehe, so yes, I`m joining the Maulosian cause in this story setting. This should grant me some possibilities of building outside my regular more Viking style of builds for GoH and go the complete opposite direction of small tropical builds. The most important rule is like in most `medieval fantasy` settings that gunpowder hasn`t been invented, so okay, that is something we can work around without problems. I have ideas of building the traditional pirate looking drinking holes and some island warrior style, or aztecs, or even native americans (remember the original discovery of America, in a Pathfinder movie style atmoshpere) settings. But the first thing to do is to create a main character, your `leader` within the story and I opted for a Pirate Princess called Blue Belle. Because she was the prettiest girl on her ship, has blue hair and is well, just something else to use as a sig-fig from the regular heroic knight or evil tyrant. For the introduction build of said sigfig, I wanted to have her standing on the beach, watching the waves. All the while she keeps guard of a lighted beacon to call any possible arrivals to their cause (the Maulosians use Blue and Gold as `colors`), but so far only a sand turtle is responding to her call. Maybe she will have to look to the inlanders to increase her power base and recruit some of them? Because apart from that, most pirates aren`t known for being the high studied intellectuals, so when the whin will turn, her makeshift beacon will seemingly end to exist ;-) Thanks for looking!

Twenty years the Dark Ages have had me in a stranglehold. About two years and a bit now I have come out of them and started buying Lego again. And in two months, it will be 2 years since I joined BeLug and Eurobricks, and started MoCing again. And today, I put together my very first starship MOC since my child hood days, if one does not count that car wash thing I once knocked together a while ago. The Mark II `Phesius` Interceptor is a small and lightly armed high speed vessel. It`s original design concept was to build an android piloted small ship, whose job is to track down small rogue astroids and debris that could come in the safety zone of a planet or moon base. These vessels are sturdy though not really that agile, literally shooting after their targets as an arrow and intercept even into the orbit possible hazards. All in all, I`m not to disappointed with how this turned out, considering it literally has been decades since I tackled a spaceship. And it definitly looks better then my very first after dark ages MoC, the small phase one of the Storehouse tree from Guilds of Historica... The stand to position it in a tilted angle, and it`s "sheer engine power" Sleek like an arrowpoint, sporting two small sidemounted blasters: The engine assembly, with two large booster rockets and two small maneuvring thrusters. Due to the extreme pressusres these vessels can come under as they shoot at high velocity directly into atmosphere, control is preferrably passed to android pilots.

Thanks. It was my general idea to have the three `main characters` I use in the game in something I could put on my closet above the PC, all dressed up a bit in their `natural environment` without having a huge build

Because its hould have read "that I could imagine running around in the Guilds of Historica", typo hehe I picked all my models in the game to be GoH suitable, instead of things like the Galaxy patrol or Plumber

A special little moc I knocked together, based on the upcoming MMO from Lego, Minifigures Online. Now, I admit, even though my starter set was the Cyclops pack, I went out and tried to collect minifigures that I could imagine running around in the videogame. The first one added was the Tomahawk Warrior, a Striker class model, depicted in the game by a red class icon. He has a long range basic attack (VERY handy in the game) at the expense of a very low defense, so if they get to him, the life total can drop really fast. The second model is the Defender, the `blue` class of the game. They are the higher defense, higher health classes of the game, at the expense of damage dissing out. He also has a very handy knock back special attack, easy to buy a few moments for that health potion in a to big to manage melee. Finally, I have the Fortune Teller as my yellow, or Creator class. Average in stats between strikers and defenders, this class builds way faster in the game then the others, which can be handy when you want to make a run for it through a jump gate or such that you need to build, and in boss fights to create the healing objects. And so this brave squad of maxed out (as far as possible for the moment as not all the skills are unlocked at the moment, being still under construction in the Beta) minifgures, I explore the game and the worlds.

Collectible Minifigures Sale / Value determination
Tomsche replied to commdr_neyo's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
I don`t actually try to sell them, but usually try and get my doubles traded away through Miniature Trading Online, a nifty free site (I discovered it a few years ago through it`s Trading Card game sister site) I don`t have had to many issues with it so far on traders not sending or such so far, so I guess it`s a pretty reliable source of working with- 17 replies

What would you like for the next Castle line?
Tomsche replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Well, something with more civilians again (like the Medieval Mill and such from a few years ago) instead of all knights would be nice -
Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Tomsche replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
I am 1. Working on a first entry for the challenge, but can't progres beyond a small one as I have not a real idea what way the story will go 2. Working on something for MiniFigs Online... that will actually fit Guilds. 3. Keep amassing a huge amounts of bricks for a 48 by 48 village / castle build of the Village of Merak, that will get the tilte "the truth behind Hagen of Merak" (aka my sigfig), estimated completion 2317 or somewhere thereabouts 4. Vaguely planning my next set of AoM builds (vaguely as in: sorting out what minifigs I could possibly use, then try to get ideas popping in my mind) -
Very lovely build, clean structures and the walls are gorgeous

Tomsche replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
And this will be the last one for AoM for the coming weeks, as I`ve started on the one hand on a build for the Challenge, and on the other hand am doing something small based on Minifigures Online (but fitting in the Guilds) So hupsa, the Farm phase 2
