I really love the organic feel of the house, blending it in nicely with the background

Tomsche replied to MassEditor's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very good looking build! Thats a lot of Crebain from Dunland many Tonto`s must have suffered for those -

Book II - Mitgardia: Guild sign-up and Discussion
Tomsche replied to Ecclesiastes's topic in Guilds of Historica
For nearly two years Hagen, hero of the village of Merak, has been running around in his current incarnation, but as the pool of available (more modern) parts grows, it was time for him to get a bit of a restyling make-over. Now, I did want to retain his `core`, with the smugness of the Han Solo face and the white / green shirt of the space police he wears under his armour. And of course, his ancient `yellow castle` visor is a stayer as well, but around that, some details could be changed. The first thing to go where his yellow trouser pants, and replaced by full white ones. Adios `running around butt naked` jokes hehe. Another change is his shield, which still sported a heavily discoloured yellow castle decal on it, and replaced by one of the shields that came with Bard`s boat in the Lake-Town Chase set. I thought it only a bit logical being a `Ring geek` that some hint to the Lord of the Rings / The Hobbit was included in his looks. The third and perhaps most striking difference is his sword. Replacing the old, light grey one for a more modern looking one, he now sports a bigger, badder looking blade from the Ninjago range, of course with the iceblue blade attached to it to better show off his allegiance to the Mitgardia Northern Lands! And so he stands ready to face the challenges in the coming years. For the North!! -

Work-in-Progress: the Mitgardian army part 1
Tomsche replied to Tomsche's topic in Guilds of Historica
During the past weeks, I managed to continue BrickLinking and combining parts to add some more troops to the budding Army of Merak, commanded by my SigFig Hagen. Two regiments and two small units now stand ready to defend the North against all commers... The first completed regiment is the Brotherhood of the Wolf, a rather rag tag bunch led by Lord Fenryr, wielding his icy blade. Standing alongside them are the Company of the Dragon, well drilled troops and experienced in the field of battle. The Amazon warriors are valkyre`s that fight in the more temperate south of the lands. Divided in Gate Guards and Temple Guards, these fierce warrior women are easily the better of most men. The coming weeks I`ll be trying to be putting together one or more of the larger `mainstay` regiments, but as I`ll be `technically unavailable` for the most part of the seasonal holidays, I can`t put a timestamp on it though. See you next time! -
Thanks! I hope the judges see it that way as well to get through the qualies ;-)

Thanks, it was a total new learning experience for lil' me

And here we go, my very first steps into the Middle Earth Lego Olympics . Thanks to the organisers for tossing me an invitation, and off we go to hopefully make it through the qualifier round. For the first round, the theme was `Music of Middle Earth`, and I selected to go for Into the West, the final ending of the whole trilogy as the ships carrying Bildo, Frodo and Gandalf set out from the Gery Havens and sail to the mystic elven lands. For this build, I tried some totally new things for myself: micro scale building, and SNOT, both things I have read a lot about, but never have put into practice before. I tried to make the towers of the havens in microscale, as I did with the ship (yes, I just had the urge to at least include the One Ring somewhere in the build) and for the SNOT part I took a baseplate, and turned it 90 degrees, so the whole build is actually build so that you are looking top down on it. And this is the particular scene of Return of the King I pulled my inspiration from: Now to keep my fingers crossed and see if I can survive the qualifier round in what is so going to prove a very eye candy like contest!

Great build, love the incorporation of the hair pieces

Fantastic build, bringing the minifigs `alive` in the setting

I`m going to go for Slegengr 's version, the third one. It has that lovely `chaotic` Lego feel to it (in a positive way mind you!) of crowding without overcrowding
-
Hilarious And a good looking build on top of that!

Arrow Raccoon  Some really great figures in there, like the Fire Mage, the Servant, the Maiden,...

Thanks all. I found during the mash together, the Nocties do lend themselves the best for `exotic` combinations

REVIEW: 71008 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 13
Tomsche replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Great review and interview I kind of adore the distribution ratio, as I`ll be hunting mostly after the Goblins and Egyptians anyways, with a single wizard and charmer on the to get list for the rest. Time to count of the days until my box comes around...- 104 replies
