Hello good peoples of the Minifig Customisation Workshop Taking a break from studying for my exams which are currently going on, I decided to create some decals based off characters from my films/graphic novel. Here's one of them, a German Major General called Angelo Vogel. Please lemme know what you think of the decal! His face: The face is based off the Collectable Minifig Series' Pilot ( Series 2 I think? ), but younger. I might re-make it with thicker Eyebrows and a deeper colour for the "wrinkles" and what not.. I'll throw in two reference pictures here, so people have an idea what the 'real' Vogel looks like. Here's the film one: And here's the Graphic Novel drawn version (In the center): The character to his right is the one who's decal I shall be making next, tomorrow night possibly. What is any decal worth if it's not applied to a minifig? I'm not sure, but I applied it to one of my minifigs, i've yet to get a proper camera, so here's a bad quality picture, sorry I might try making a bright-grey coloured "skirt" for him, some point in the future. I might make the tie on the torso darker too, it seems too bright. Anyways! Please let me know what you think, or what I could do more to capture the likeness? Axle

As I said, it's a fictional version of Paderborn, that was just the town I happened to pick for the story. I have very little knowledge of the real place, other than that there's a castle Wewelsburg there. If you had any other appropriate information on the town, it'd be much appreciated. The places aren't real places, but the pictures are taken from my film. It's not a serious film at all, it's a comedy film, in short The characters are original, but I was trying to go for the 60's/70's typical WWII film Germans, speaking English with spots of German here and there. I can link you to the film if you like, if it helps to understand this. As for this MOC, I'm just making it to get a good idea how the town would be laid out, where buildings would be in relation to each other, which will help in the Graphic Novel. I suppose it would be military, but i'm trying to focus on making a WWII town, not on the army itself, but if the moderators feel it's more for a more appropriate forum, i'd have no problem

I have here a few pictures of my Lego town (Everyone has to have some sort of Lego city ). It's not the best, and is certainly a WIP, as you'll see. It's based off of a fictional version of the town of Paderbourne, where my Graphic novel and films are set in. I built the main locations of the films, plus some town essentials. Let's get started with an overview! It is fairly packed in the center, but the 'outskirts' of the town are sparse for now. I'll give a quick zoom in onto each building, and provide a screenshot of the 'real thing' too, if there is one. First is the blue house, General Vogel's. In the film, it appears very different, but this is what it'll look like in the novel, I based it off of what images I could find of German buildings, like these ones: When I get a chance, i'll post some more interesting photos of the interior and the small party going on. Next is a typical Lego house, white and red roofed: I really like the design of the creator houses, and I tried to copy a basic version of their designs. Sadly, I didn't make the house very accessible and i'll have to dismantle it to get inside In the darkness brought on by the shelves at the back is a nice, simple garden. It even has a fountain, made by three bricks, including a flick-fire missile. I'm going to build a fire station just opposite this house, and maybe a café on the other side of the road, but space is tight. Next is the star building of the films/novel, the Clinic! It 'belongs' to Edward, who is the main character, a low-budget doctor who's trying to get by in the war. He never finished medical school, but does his best to earn money in the town. He's the one in the foreground on the white motorcycle. If I had that Ron Weasley hair, it'd be much better for him! Anyways, here is a shot of the 'real' clinic. I only included the main part of the Clinic, which is where the building title is in that picture. I think I reproduced the general look of the building pretty well, and the interior will be closely matched too, but it's not made at the moment. Please don't ask me why it's called that, because I myself no longer remember why . Moving swiftly along to the upper part of town, which is in progress, 'Black Market way'. What a mess.. the building on the right will be a wooden shed, the Black Market. I could only find this bad picture: The building further up is the Taverne Fur Betrukene, which will have a brown base, and grey top for the windows. I'll also use either skeleton legs or those white 1x4 fences for the fence, i'm not sure which would look better. Finally, for the moment, is where the train station will be: I haven't really done too much with this yet, but there will be a train station, and on the side of the tracks on the right, there will be a Poker club, the base of the Resistance. I'll post more pictures once i make more progress on the town! Please leave me some CC on what to do, and what things the town could use to improve it, i'd really appreciate it. Are there any sets under €45 that would make a good addition? I'm thinking of a creator set maybe with birthday money.. Axle

Good morning! Here's a general 40's van I made, it could be a milk van, a mechanic's van, or a plumbers... who knows? Excuse the awful quality photos, I really need a proper camera :/ From the side, you can see that I lacked that dual seat part in white ( Does it even come in white? ) I think it looks okay despite that... The front is a bit low compared to the back. The rear would be 3 x 1 x 3 doors, but I don't have any, so I made do with a window piece with doors in them. Also red 1x1s for rear lights. The milkman clearly needs to buy new lights, only one of them is working.. Anyways, that's it for this MOC, please leave CC and feedback on what I can do to improve! Axle

hi, ScotNick :) I tried doing something similar to that before, but the 1x8 tiles on the side made it near impossible to work, and I wanted to keep those, because it looks a little bare without them :( maybe on my next engine I'll try something like that! I'll try to find more pictures of it, the rear part is actually a very dark shade of green in reality, but I don't have many dark green parts, so I chose dark grey as a substitute . I wasn't aware there was an Irish Lego website, I'll check it out now :)
-
Thanks for the Comments :) I might boost the back part up a brick and see if that fixes the problem :p I'm a fool! I don't know why I assumed Citroen were German :s I suppose it's being used by a German, so maybe that's where I went wrong :p I'll try fixing the back and I'll post some pictures later, lets see how this goes!
-
So after not having created any Lego cars for say.. 6 years, here's my first attempt :P It's based off of what one of those Citroen cars from WWII looks like, but I only had my head to imagine it, so it isn't very like it in the end. But i'm happy with it's looks! It's for Captain Gunther Von Stauff, a character from my films, and my future graphic novel. Again, please excuse the camera quality, I only have a phone at the moment for pictures :( Here's the rear, with a boot to boot! It opens, revealing Gunther's equipment: binoculars, a pistol, and handcuffs. It has a larger to small side profile, the front being chunkier than the smooth rear. I should probably fix this! Due to lack of door parts, I constructed some myself, and they open nicely enough. Gunther's also kitted the car with some luxurious dark tan leather seats! Don't let the 4-wide windscreen fool you, it actually fits two people inside comfortably: Another view of the two-seating. Thanks for looking! Please leave a comment and feedback on what I could do to improve! Axle

Hello again peoples :) I present here another Tank Engine MOC, this one based off a train that once ran through my back garden from 1830's to the 1950's! :O Sadly, it was retired and scrapped and retired after the roads became more popular, but it was one of the oldest railways in the world. Out of all my Engine MOCs, i'd say this is my most 'advanced', and by far my favourite! I'm very pleased with the result. Here's a picture of the real thing ( A painting, I know, but it's the best one I could find :P ) Let's see how my one looks in comparison! Please forgive the camera quality, I have to use my phone sadly. :/ Here's the 3/4 front view! The coupling system will work different to the Lego magnetic one, due to my own scarcity of those parts. I'll use two of those pieces that are 2x3 with the holes in the front. I like the look of the buffers, and i cheated a bit with the engine "face", because I don't have that part in black :( I used black insulation tape to colour it black, without permanently affecting the part. I also left two dark grey lines for those things Steam engines have, I think it's a hinge for the door or something?? :S Here's the illustriative back view: If I had two dark grey 2x1x2 window pieces, they'd be there, instead of the angry eyed look it currently has :( A side view, showing the studless nature of the engine: I had to leave the front wheel a stud up from the tracks to allow it to turn on curves, because the back two wheels are a motor. I've made it so the rear buffers come off easily, in case I want to motorize it some day. Here's the inside of the cab: It's a 4x4 space, with a firebox underneath the controls. Here's the final view of it, on my work in progress town layout! I made a makeshift carriage for it too, but it's not worth seeing, I might post pictures later on when I make some proper carriages for it. Please let me know what you think of the engine! Leave me some constructive criticism too please. :) Axle

Hello again peoples Here's one of my latest MOC's, an island for the Pirates. Please excuse the poor quality lighting in the photos :c I built this inspired by the hideout of the Pirates in the Golden Medallion Comic, but i'm not sure if it has much resemblance to it, cos I wasn't looking at it at the time of creation :P Overall shot with the BSB: Without: It may not be as impressive as the other pirates islands on here, but for me, it does the trick of having a home for them. Here's a closer shot of the main area: It's kinda pointless, but I used the shield with the stud on it from the CMF and stuck it to the bottom of a barrel so that pirate could hold it upright. Just experimenting. Don't ask about the carrot Here's a view of the rooftop, armed: Shazzam! Bad image editing ahoy! If I had two more spare cannons, the roof would be completely armed in each "port". Once the lone Ranger sets come out, i'll buy the Army Builder set and build more cannons up from that, yay. The ever so un-occupied inside of the main building, I like to think that this was once a RedCoat Outpost that the pirates took over. Very lacking... Anyhoo, here's a scene outside the pub, in the Hula Dancer's hand is a gem, which was stolen off of the knight who's falling through the docks. Further along at the end of the docks are temporary stand-ins for Flashfork and his first mate. I've yet to properly make Flashfork Inside that building (in the attic) is the Cargo hold, full of the stolen treasures from around the world! (The adventurers stuff mainly) Kinda unfinished. But speaking of unfinished, take a look at the building on the other end of the docks. Blown up by a cannon! Or was it my cat? I'm not sure who did it, but that building is history now. At least the youngsters can do whatever it is young people in love do here in front of the ruins. There's a great view! But underneath the docks are abandoned RedCoat belongings, a cannon and a rowing boat. But further along you'll find more big ugly rock pieces! And a disgruntled native, the original inhabitant. Plotting revenge, and not catching a tan. Yikes! And to finish up, my favourite picture of the lot, Captain Redbeard, Will and Rummy boarding the Black Seas Barracuda, on a course for adventure! Hooray. Thanks for looking! Please let me know what you think of this humble home for not so humble people! In the summer, it'll be for brickfilms Ta-ta! Axle

[pid][/pid] 146 So I had ship parts and wanted to make something from them so my BSB isn't all alone. The answer? Be "inspired" by the Carribean Clipper and make this multicoloured monstrosity! I'm happy enough with it, though, besides colours, but it could use some flags and Imperial Sailors/Soldiers. In this first shot, the colours all look fine, but that's probably just my bad camera's fault :P Next is a shot on deck and you can start to see all the messy colours and such. Green, Red, Blue, Grey and Yellow... Hopefully I can narrow it down soon enough with better parts. I really like the Imperial Flagship's decks with the 8 x 8 Grill pieces, so I drew some inspiration from that here: And without the deck: With only two cannons, they won't last long under attack. Thankfully, we can pretend those other two ports contain cannons! Here's a view of the almighty cabin. It's not so great, but at least it has an inside with a floor, unlike the Carribean Clipper. And another view, showing the impatient Captain's daughter drinking from one of the many wine glasses onboard. And finally, here's the figurehead, Fawkes the Phoenix, from a time gone by in the Chamber of Secrets: And Finally, one last action picture, under attack from the Black Seas Barracuda. Thanks for looking at the multicoloured Monstrosity! I'm going to try improving on it's colours whenever I get the chance, but until then, please leave me some constructive criticism and comments Axle

Finally got my old minifigs back and can start doing more Brickfilms again! Captain Redbeard's fallen on some hard times out on the open sea, and is about to lose the plot altogether... Lemme know what you think?

Good Evening, everyone! I have two more faces here tonight, both Governor Broadside. The first is his normal one: And here's an angry one (The pirates have taken the morning Ham): I'll do more emotions later on this week methinks
-
I'm really looking forward to the next translation! I was reading these all last night instead of going to sleep :P It's a shame they only have six, but it's really interesting, and dark for a Lego story as someone else here said. Hopefully someone will start a Lego Comic adaption sometime soon, it'd probably be possible.
-
A few days ago I posted a topic looking for Pirate figure faces. Seeing that there was none, I thought I'd have a go at making some myself, but then I got the idea to make different emotions in the face to suit different scenes! These could be handy in MOCs if anyone wants to use them. So far I've just done Captain Redbeard to practice, but I'll go on to do more of the classic pirates as time goes by. Let me know what you think of these so far :) Just normal Redbeard: Angry Redbeard: Very Happy Redbeard ( Maybe he's just found the motherload of gold.) : Sad Redbeard: And finally (For now), here's Scared Redbeard: The mouth is a bit odd on that last one, I might update these once I get my hands on my Redbeard Minifig again. Next I'll do Governor Broadside, hopefully! Please leave a comment letting me know what you think or anything that I could add/change on these? Axle

I got these 8 Minifigs off ebay for €6, the main ones I wanted were the three pirates, one with the Governor's Bicourne! :D -
Thanks :) Do you have a youtube channel as well, or just uploading it somewhere else? If it's youtube, can I have a link to you? :P Was the lighting in the first shot okay? This was my first proper attempt at using lighting in a video, here's a video I made without proper lighting:

Ladies and Gents, here is my first PIrate Brickfilm in 5 years! ( wow, that long already?!) It's only a test really, but i'll be making another 10-20 seconds each weekend from now on until I get bored and decide to start a bigger project Brickfilm ( I already have the idea in my head, basing it off the Lego Pirate comic) Anyways, without further ado, here it is! Please tell me what you think and what I could improve on it. Getting a new camera is not really an option at the moment, so excuse the camera quality :p EDIT: Dagnabbit,,, I posted it to the wrong place >< could an administrator please fix this? sorry...

Hello Train peoples :) Here to you I present a Tank Engine I built some time ago. It is probably obvious enough what it's based upon :P It may not be much, but it was the first thing I built after my dark ages. Now, with no further ado, here are the pictures! Please excuse my poor camera quality :( The rods on the wheels are actually single track pieces. This side view shows how big the cab is, i'm not sure if the proportions look proper or not.. The Unexciting back view! The inside of the cabin is a simple firebox and 4x1 tile with controls on it. Another angle of it... And finally, here is a front view of the engine. I think it looks better with two headlamps, but that's just my preference. I think I prefer working in 8 stud wide engines more than the usual 6, which is what I used to do when I was younger. The main reason I put these pictures up is because i'm probably going to dismantle it in a few days to use the blue parts for some other creations. Please let me know what you think of it, or if you have any suggestions that could make this or any future engines I might build any better? There was a great steam engine that used to run through my back garden in the 1850's to the 1950's, recently a book was published on it, i'm considering recreating it in Lego form.. Axle

Forgive me if this is the wrong place for this topic, but I've had a look around on the forum, but i've been unable to find any decals for the faces of the Classic Pirates. More specifically, i'm looking for Governor Broadside, or Admiral Woodhouse, but there doesn't seem to be any faces done for any pirate minifigs. The torso library is great, but I wanna try and make the "original characters" of Classic Era pirates, but I couldn't afford buying the individual minifigs :P EDIT: My mistake... there seems to be some of the pirates, but none of Admiral Woodhouse... It's probably a lot to ask for in the first place, but I was just wondering if there is a decal of him somewhere?
-
Yesterday, I won 8 Classic Minifigs on ebay for €6.34, It might not be much to some people, but I was looking for the Captain Redbeard Minifig, cos my dad gave mine, from the Black Seas Barracuda, away a couple of years ago, and I wanted the ship to be complete again.. Also good about this is the admiral's bicourne, which will be good for MOC's and Brickfilms, once I start making them again :P

It's sets like these that makes me wish I was born 10 years earlier than I was, but i just thought I should say that there are some pictures messed up here :s I think the links might be broken, sorry for bumping the topic :(

He reminds me of this painting of Van Gogh, by Van Gogh, I especially like the way you did the collar!

Ah sorry! D: I didn't realise there was a Grimmbeard here, again, i'm coming out of my dark ages :P Sure, you can claim ownership of this Grimmship then! ;) Or I could rename it the Gangley Galley, but that doesn't sound as good.

This here is a ship I built just before my dark ages, about 5 or 6 years ago. I'm calling it the Grimm Galleon because it is a very depressing looking ship :P With it originally, the only minifigure was the Bluecoat with the Morion helmet, on a lonely 6 year voyage through the dark ages. Grim! Also, sorry for the bad image quality, I have yet to set up a proper place to take photos of things. Here's a view of the back of the boat, it seems the sail supports are slightly off :s there's 3 chests in behind the steering wheel, ready for pillaging! Here's a view into the cannons and the lower deck. Again, this ship isn't exactly a work of art, it's the last thing I made before my dark ages :p This is the Captain, who is just the Shakesperian actor from the collectible minifig series, with a peg leg and bicorne. He looks despairingly out across the blue oceans, Here's the final shot of the ship,... where it looks it's best. Pretend the Jolly Roger is a different flag, please! Anyways, I just wanted to get some pictures of this up here before I take it apart and build a different ship, probably based off the Carribean Clipper. Thanks for looking :) Please give me some constructive criticism!
