City 2010

I really, really dislike that nose piece.

Small plane is still better because it's brickier than the big plane. Wouldn't buy it though, to have an airport on a exclusive-modular setting would need bigger runways

Wow, I love these City sets, especially the impulse ones and the Octan tanker!

Impulse Sets - Wow! It's nice to know that they include parts that were only available in larger sets (double cheese, Indy bag, briefcases, pig , camera)! :sweet:

Octan Tanker - I love the Octan color scheme on the tank.

"Smart" Car - Hopefully this won't be the actual minifig and just a prototype! Wow, I'm glad that LEGO went with a new "hoodie" torso print instead of sticking with this!

Repair Truck - Looks as good as ever, and I love that green trash can.

Thanks!

The Farmer impulse is very nice

Pig and Dog!

Octan Truck is also very cool and I will have to buy it for sure!

Although its old, these super clear pics make it look even better!

The Traveler impulse is neat and I will buy that too.

Looks like the smart car just got cut, the only thing that made me want is gone

They switched the hoodie minifig with the bbq impulse guy wearing a strange shirt

:hmpf_bad:

Macoco, the picture shown there of the Smart Car is preliminary and old and the pictures seen on Amazon and elsewhere (which are not marked "preliminary") show the new figure with the hoodie. The preliminary pictures probably used that fig (with the red torso) because the new torso was not ready at the time.

Oh really? Thanks! That is good to hear and I did not think of that. :classic:

Seeing pictures in this order threw me off, as I assumed these pics were the latest.

Here are some of my observations from these images on flickr.

In 3181, we actually have a vehicle like a plane towing jeep in true classic 4 stud wide form like in the 80' to early 90's.

On the 3179, there doesn't appear to be a holder for the most commonly used tool by a sparky - the humble screwdriver !

The 3180 tanker, love that colour scheme don't you wish for a servo in the colour scheme !

At least in the tractor with piggies, you get a tap unlike the gun for watering your sow, you might shoot it by accident.

Thank you very much for the links to the pics, kris kelvin and BlueBard! :classic:

Farmer Impulse Set

Of course a great possibility if you plan to open a big pig farm.

But for what do we need hundreds of dogs?!

And what shall that tan "thing" be?!

And what does the pistol on the bottom of the blue bucket?!

I'm really getting tired of TLG always using that farmer torso :hmpf: - can't TLG design a new different one (at least in a different color - e. g. blue-yellow would be nice)?!

Traveler Impulse Set

We will get a very well designed airport roller and some very nice accessory - esp. the shoulder bag and the camera are great!

I wonder whether we'll get a different torso for the minifig in the final version or not.

I totally agree with you, they use to do colour variations in other themes like PM or Space, why not in City/Town/Farm?

I need to comment the impulses.

Personally, I love that farmer impulse and I´ll be getting two or three of them. The pigs are awesome for farm, castle, pirates... The dogs can be used almost anywhere and that farmer himself... well. He´s a generic guy good enough to be put in a grocery store or just walking around in a city. swap the head and he´ll do fine. The other parts are okay. Not something worth getting this set for, that´s for sure. But good enough to go into the parts bin for your latest MOC.

I´m totally not sold for the traveller, though. Great to get parts only available in bigger sets, but to be honest I don´t need too many luggages, shoulderbags and cameras. Nice accessories, but rather useless for me.

The hundreds of dogs can go on Bricklink, along with the pigs . The tan thing is like a watering trough, for the animals, and the pistol is used as the tap.

It could really do with two 1 x 4 x 1 panels in the middle.

I agree with you in the matter that it surely is useful for MOCing.

But seeing it "only" as a small City set you could add to the other Farm sets it's imo really useless. Alternatively it would have to include more interesting stuff - e. g. a closed feeder (like seen in the Piglets Enclosure And Tractor set) and a new farmer torso - or at least a boy or girl in order to bring some diversion.

Btw: I'm really surprised that we have (nearly) not heard anything about the summer sets. It seems very late this year that we'll get any informatuon on them (last year we already knew in late summer the set names). :sadnew:

The tan thing is where the farmer puts the pigs food (slop)

The pistol is a fountain that shoots water in the blue basket (sink)

I agree that putting in a dog was dumb :hmpf:

However the pig is cool

Yes I also agree they have used that overall torso! 3 sets already!

New pictures on Amazon....

Best Regards,

JanSued

I actually saw this in a store today. Our local Bart Smit is already carrying the entire 2010 Fire line. Nice.

EDIT: Actually, after looking up all the sets that make up the 2010 fire line I can't confirm them carrying all of them, but they definitely had the fire station, the big boat and the set pictured above, all stacked in a large cardboard stand with a fire fighter minifig and NEW plastered about it in big letters.

Just found out for those in the US can get 5898 and 5899 as of the 4th of this month for only 10 bucks. The car that comes with the little house is very much classic 4stud wide and two minifigs. Both packs would contain parts and even those in odd colours that would be handy in making MODs and MOCs.

5899 House Building Set.

I hope that these will be about $14.99 in Oz next year.

Thanks for the very clear pictures lightningtiger!

These "Basic" sets are a must buy, especially the 5898. The red car is above the "Basic" standards I think and looks great.

At last!!! Smaller wheels cars!!! In two sets!! :sweet:

I jusr hope that this will have a continuity.

Ah, guys I don't think thats a female firefighter, it's got a 5 o'clock shaddow.

What do you think, just compare these two photos against this,

dsc03583.jpg

I don't see any other minifig up close so sadly no female firefighters again - we'll have to MOCem ourselves.

Sorry, clear as the river Yarra !

Yeah, in that basic set - same hair as farm girl, but the torso is from the camper girl.

In this combo is it's first time in any set.

That 5899 house is *very* basic. Something I probably wouldn't even consider. The 5898 however has passable looking vehicles that can fit the CITY theme very well. My local TRU shows that; 5898 is out of stock already while there are still plenty of 5899 on the shelf.

But it is stil december. I asked my legoshopdealer about new sets for the second half and he says he see the new sets for the second half in February in the big Neurenberg toysconvention (only for dealers).

:classic:

I like the female fig and the normal blue roofslopes very much in the basic set.
