Finding the best place to sell your apples is hard sometimes. Mr. Smith thought he had the best place in town to sell his granny's apples, he thought many people would pass this gate. He didn't thought about the sun though, meanwhile all the customers would gather at the vendor behind him. Who is selling his own delicious apples where the crowd did gather. Marko is just about to try and return to the river to catch some more fish, while Sascha is drying the previous catch. A small furry friend is looking with anticipation waiting for Sascha to leave. -- Will probably be part of a larger layout together with https://flic.kr/p/2mMtevr -- It started out as a tryout to use a post-and-beam technique and evolved to this house. The stone base of the house is 10x10, with some jumper magic, the bottom of the house is 9x9, before expanding to the front to 10x9 studs for the floors above and the roof. Medieval Townhouse with Restaurant & Veterinarian [Modular Building]

Hello everyone, it's finally time to reveal my latest modular building to you! This building is inspired by the leaning, half-timbered houses you can still find in the old, medieval town centres of many cities across central Europe. Being from the town of Esslingen in southern Germany, I've loved these old buildings since I was a young kid, and am in the very lucky position to now actually live in one of them. The building was inspired by buildings from around my hometown aswell as buildings in other cities, but it is not modeled after a specific building. Instead; I tried to capture the main defining features of this kind of building - namely jettying of the upper floors, a steep, gabled roof, a big window beneath the gable which was used to haul in goods (the uppermost floors were used for storage) and a stone-built ground-floor. The somewhat rich facade decorations are a figment of my imagination, inspired by buildings built or renovated much later. Some stats: Piece count: ~3750 Height: 35cm Features an asian restaurant, a veterinarian and two apartments Design first started in July 2017, but then I paused for almost three months. After another pause during much of November and December, design was finished at the start of February 2018. And the best thing: I put a three storey version of it on Lego Ideas: Please vote for it if you like it! https://ideas.lego.com/projects/033f7603-82f3-4447-8a4c-64bc92e7ed1f But enough talk, let's get on to the pictures! The asian restaurant is nicely decorated with dragon murals, an old Samurai sword, themed images on the smoked-glass windows, and old disks inscribed with sacred inscriptions...or so. The couple enjoys a nice evening here, accompanied by a good wine. The kitchen is a little bit cramped, retrofitted into an old cellar. Still, enough room to cook delicious meals! On warmer days, the beautiful, shaded outside seating area is a nice way to escape from the stress of modern times. The first floor houses the veterinarian's office. First thing up the stairs is the reception counter. The house may be very old, but the furniture and IT equipment here is very modern! Who would've thought that the dog's skull looked like that under all that fur? The overhead cabinet contains everything that might be needed. The second floor houses the first of two apartments. There's a nice, old armchair with a beautiful old lamp, mainly used for reading. There's a disused room on this floor, unconnected to the apartment... luckily, the apartments occupant loves all living things, regardless of the number of their legs! Beneath the steep roof, there is yet another apartment. Deviating from classic modular fashion, the entire facade lifts off together with the roof! The young man living here loves to play the guitar. Carpenter's house in Laelariel [missed deadline for Cat. B]

'We've been deprived of everything; only few houses are still standing. We tried our best to contribute to the war against Raavage, but.. ' - A villager in Laelariel I'm sorry guys, life got in between and I missed the deadline. When realising I wouldn't make it, I decided to also go over the size restriction, so this cannot be an entry at all. However, I'm pretty satisfied with the result, so I'm posting it anyways. Sorry, I have only this one pic due to the same time constraints. It's my first attempt at a half-timbered Tudor style house, for which I'd like UoP credits - will definitely build more of this, so if you reckon this one isn't quite enough for the Credits, no worries and just say ^ The Tudor is, after all, a bit irregular, as you can see [there was a reason for this but I've quite forgotten by now..]. Special thanks must go to @TitusV for the much inspiration provided recently [I was honest, see? ] as well as @ZCerberus for the same inspiration, in particular thanks to his Beggar's Inn. Other random facts: The roof - I'd never expected to like the classic sloped roofing so much; it might be disappointing for some, but I reckon I'll stick with it for a while One part I didn't manage well is the rake, as it doesn't completely cover the black of the roof-slopes. The colours - needless to say, blue and its shades are the new addition to my palette, I really like them [yes, random dark turquoise just to see how it looks ]. I'm also looking for a smoother transition between rb and normal green - sand green helps, but I'm open to suggestions [I don't reckon dark brown would do..]. Overall, some classic techniques that I've finally tried out. C&C most welcome as usual - thanks for looking! ^^
