[K - E10] Polar Military Base on Traig IV This is my first microbuild ever, so all kinds of CC is approciated! I had a lot more fun building this than I had initially anticipated, doing things on a microscale forces one to think in very different way than one usually does. As usual, my projects tend to become bigger than I intend... this one clocks in at a little over 1200 pieces. For scale purposes, one tile (without stud) is around 2m high. (Also, I realized why rendering was so slow last week (custom radiosity), so this week you'll get a lot of renders (one high def, and a few a little lower def)!) --//Transmission Begin. Date: 1506(38)15. Scramble code: hhakKHI7924kja29jKllflhgm.//-- Due to reports of possible imminent direct contact with Octan, HQ decided we needed to set up a forward base on Traig IV. Its mountainous islands near the poles, which are covered with thick layers of ice and snow, provide excellent opportunities for building such bases, both thanks to the strong magnetic fields eminating from them, which interfere with enemy scanning equipment, the supply of fresh water from the snow, and the opportunity for our scientists to study the planets very interesting oceanic flora and fauna. The majority of the base is located underground, including a vast hangar which can hold up to 6 Alpha Class airships (one of them which is currently landing), 50 heavy bombers and a couple of hundred smaller fighter jets, plus several different ground vehicles, including variants of the ATC-76 (which can be seen approaching the base). Some parts are located on the surface however. The living arrangements for the troops and scientists, which consists of several self propelling modules, which land on each other to form a tower of sorts, is located above ground in order to minimize the space used (for harder visual/radiation tracking) and to facilitate rapid evacuation in case of an emergency. The research facilities require daylight for particular types of experiments, so part of it is above ground. The Awsomnium tanks were just delivered via orbital delivery ships, and will be hauled into the hangar as soon as possible. Two ATCs approaching the front gate. The base from above. Col. Excerpt from the lab book of Big Sal: Date: 14 Junali 3815. Experiment Code: L3A05. Lead Scientist: Big Sal. Laboratory: Yallorn II, Laboratory Outpost 3. Aim: Analyse items obtained by field agents. Excerpt ends. Ah, it’s good to be back in the lab. I can’t believe how long it took to analyse all of Lafevre’s seaweed samples after she inconsiderately got herself killed. I’ll be happy if I never see another plant for the rest of my life. Right, let’s see if I can figure out this… thing… that Arariel stole from Kawashita. At times like these, delicate scientific technique is called for. This thing is useless! I bet Arariel just swiped the first ornament he saw from the public lobby of that museum then came back and made up some story about his amazing infiltration skills. Maybe I’ll have more luck with the tentacle from the creature Mark of Orion encountered here. Can’t be bothered with DNA analysis, I’ll just inject some awesomnium extract and see what happens… … … … Ugh, looks like it’s just going to be one of those days when nothing works. Excerpt from the lab book of Big Sal: Method: Conducted highly scientific analysis of object K-5654 and Yallorn II xenos sample. Results: Detailed analysis of both items revealed nothing of use to M.A.N.T.I.S. Conclusions: None. Safety Report: None. Excerpt ends. Was that a ship landing outside? Best go check it out. Alright mate, got a delivery for Big Sal. That’s me. Nice one pal, I’ve been all over the place trying to deliver this. Sign here please. Righto. What have you got for me? What the hell?? What's with all the plants?! Long story mate. They were meant to go to Dr Lefevre on Barnius, but when I showed up there it turned out she was dead. So I look at the personnel files and the next most qualified botanist is Dr Johnson on Linopeia III. Would you believe it, I turn up there and he’s dead too! Never knew plants were so dangerous, heh heh. Anyway, I figured I’d just bring them to the ranking scientist to deal with, and that’s you. But I hate plants! Take them to Dr Arkov! Nah pal, you signed for ‘em, see? Not my problem any more. But… but… See ya! Didn't have time to do everything I wanted with the story, but oh well. I tried to include as much stuff from other M.A.N.T.I.S. builds as I could. Comments and criticism welcome! More pics, including proof that the lab is inside the building, in the spoiler.

This took me one week to build, and I wanted to use it for Inn Phase 3, so I held off on posting here until I could build a Phase 2 MOC. It was inspired by this building in Skyrim: link Anyways I hope you enjoy, this is my favorite build yet The Green Goblet is the largest and most popular inn in Daydelon. More pictures: link And if you're curious how I managed the corners of the roof, there's an explanation here: http://www.brickbuilt.org/?p=368 C&C always appreciated

Fun Fact: I’m posting this more or less around the same time, down to the minutes, as my first build on AG. I've been planning a return since last year, waiting for the proper time, and VK gave me a kick in the pants when he sent me a PM awhile ago! Ah, a year went by so fast. Hope to get back in the game again. Time to go dust off the rest of my AG figures! And although I haven’t been here for a while, I’d just like to thank all of the people who supported my builds last year, and helped create the story. All in all. Here is my Barracks Phase 3 build for Age of Mitgardia. It was actually made in 2015, but it took me forever to get around to making the other barracks phases. I used SNOT 1x2 tiles for the stone walls, and quite like the stone block texture it gives. Daydelon barracks is a prominent barracks in Mitgardia, and houses from all over the guild send their sons there to be trained as warriors. In fact, it's not overly unusual for citizens of another guild to train for a time in Daydelon. Thanks for looking, your comments are always welcome

Location: C03, Torresta On his way to a mission on the opposite side of Andromeda, Hawk thought he would stop by his home on Torresta for a quick rest. - It was a fairly average home, but it's best feature was it's location on the shores of one of Torresta's famous Great Lava Lakes. - Only if he could find something to wear that wasn't a stealth suit. - Time to watch a Movie on the holo screen. He noticed his plant giving him an angry look. Sentient Plant creatures were popular with MANTIS employees, but he wasn't sure his liked him very much. - - Thanks for looking. C&C welcomed

Here's my latest creation, something I've always wanted to do since I was... 8 years old? I'm getting it ready right for Brickworld 2016. With 18 stories, measuring over 6 feet tall and more than 9,000 bricks, this is by far my largest creation. Since it's an absolute hassle to move around, the interior shots will come in later (though you might have seen a few already in my WIP thread). But for now, enjoy the exterior shots. Stay tuned for the interior shots! And this won't be the last skyscraper in the Wasabi District; I'm already planning a second tower adjacent to the One Azure!

What is going on? You've been chosen to work on the OCS Dilligence. Off this pit and into the furthest reaches of the galaxy, isn't it great. I bet my grandkids will be learning of the man who repaired the Warp Engines of the Dilligence! You being serious? Why would anyone want me on board their ship? John Ragnos O'Conner, Report to Docking Bay 76 Immediately. Your shuttle leaves in 10 minutes. If this is a joke I will have your hides! Footnote: I think I will need to update my sigfig, give him some hair and maybe render him a little bit. I decided I would string this MOC together because I haven't exactly got much time anytime soon and I want to move the story along a bit. It will be fun for the next mocs because I get to experiment with micro-builds and building spaceships which is something I've never really done much of. Although being a pilot would make more sense for the bonuses, it fits more in the story so I will stay as an engineer for now . The Whole Moc:

Here's my phase 3 storehouse for Age of Mitgardia. I used the vast majority of our dark brown collection in this build, and really like how it looks with the reddish brown walls. The storehouse features a full interior with plenty of supplies stored for the winter. And the doors work. Just outside one of Daydelon's large storehouses, Smolja the dwarven blacksmith is greeted by Flotnar. "Good day, Smolja! I hope your work hasn't been keeping you too busy of late," said the cheerful sailor. "Good day to you my friend, and while I never have lack of work, there hasn't been as many pressing tasks of late. Your dogs look to be in fine shape, how do they enjoy life aboard your ship?" queried Smolja. "They enjoy it well enough, though they're happy to gain a romp on land when possible. In fact, they're the reason I've been meaning to talk with you. You see, I'd like to have some light chain collars made, with the dogs names engraved on small placards. Rjoor and Rif are their names." Flotnar stated. "I can do that easily enough," replied Smolja, "bring them round to my smithy tomorrow, and I'll make sure the collars fit properly." "Thank you, Smolja, I shall drop by tomorrow morning." More pictures can be found on my website. C&C welcome

Dear friends! Welcome to the fabulous "The Fortune" casino. This construction set includes two separate buildings: - The building of "The Fortune" casino. - A small abandoned building of the slot-machines club "777" “777” was a popular place for fans to play on the slot machines. But when “The Fortune” opened nearby, “777”club went bankrupt. “777” building is on sale now. The casino building. On the ground floor there is a small French café. There you can take a coffee and freshly baked pastries. On the ground floor of the casino there are: Table for playing Blackjack, two slot machines, cashier, security room and money vault. On the second floor of the casino there are: Office of the General Manager of the casino, tables for playing craps and roulette. In an abandoned “777” building someone attacker has dismantled part of the wall of the “777” building and is going to get into the casino’s money vault. He has all the necessary tools and equipment that he need. Part of the wall of the store is fixed with a rod. If you pull the air conditioner in the backyard, you can pull part of the wall of the vault using a winch. Then the attacker will have access to the vault. "The previous engineer who worked here was terrible, look at this mess!" "Who in there right mind puts that there? Oxygen is running low, I'll call the colony and get transport." A little footnote: Hello! This is my first MOC since I left the dark age and it is probably not very good. I felt I'd post it anyway as it was fun trying to build in LDD, the controls were a bit awkward so it took quite a while ! At the time of writing this I am not in the player index so I hope I am not being an inconvenience by posting this now. Sorry for how the pictures turned out, I need to read some more documentation. The problem with being an Afol and living in a small flat, is I don't have enough space to display all my sets. So I decided to build a diorama made of 75052 Cantina and other bricks from my collection. Then, I added a lot of minifigures from the original Trilogy plus others like Jar-Jar and a robot from the Space theme. I was inspired by the Creator buildings int he way I wanted my cantina to be opened vertically. The fanboys will tell that the Cantina has only one floor... My crew : The "easter egg" :

Hello all, I am in the process of designing several different fighter air/spacecraft and am running into a brick wall for seat design. I've tried google-fu, but I keep running into James Bond-style car ejectors and horrible-looking seats that actually throw the minifigure. I want neither of these, so I'd like to ask here. The builds are all at minifigure scale, and I would love some help/advice on how to make decent looking seats. They don't need to actually eject or move, but I want to be able to include a parachute/small backpack on the pilot figures. Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!

Location: B06 Tags: Vehicle, Land/Water vehicle, Building, Military Ah, finally I get to have my revenge on Kawashita for capturing me last time I was on Sorn. And you're sure you'll be able to disable their defenses? Of course, Captain Read! Let me tell you again about my heroic escape... That won't be necessary- It all started a month ago when I woke up in a dank cell... Wha... where am I? Nowhere you'll like. You're a prisoner of Kawashita now, and your... 'debriefing' is about to start. Come with me. Let's start with something easy. Who are you? Who do you work for? I'll tell you nothing! M.A.N.T.I.S. agents are trained to resist torture! So you work for M.A.N.T.I.S.... Damn it! We may as well skip ahead. We know you're Big Sal, first branch executive and chief scientist of M.A.N.T.I.S. You may as well admit it and save yourself some pain. Big Sal? Never heard of him. What kind of name is that anyway? What? Well, is Big his first name? Or is Sal? But then what's his surname? I...uh...hang on... You'd best check your intelligence - sounds like you've got it all mixed up. You don't tell me what to do! Guard, take him back to his cell! This isn't over for you... Pssst! Mr Sal! Never heard of him! Who are you? I'm Dr Wu's assistant, remember? I don't understand why you're being kept prisoner. I hope this won't affect Dr Wu's chances of getting the Nobel Prize! Wait, you still believe that? Maybe the Persuadomatic's effects are permanent! Or maybe this guy's just really dumb... What was that? Uh... I mean, yes, I'm afraid this will affect her chances. You need to get me out of here right now so she can still get the recognition she deserves! Oh, right away! Nice work! This way! When we get to the top floor I'll distract the guards so you can sneak past them. So I said to him 'Kawashita? I hardly know her!' Heh heh heh. HAHAHAHA! How funny! You again? For the last time, the prisoner isn't from the Nobel Prize Committee! Speaking of which, I'd better go check on him. Damn! Best find another way out... No, wait! Get out of the way! Freedom! These look nasty. May as well hack in a remote backdoor access in case we ever want to come back here and free the other prisoners. PRISONER ESCAPED! SOUND THE ALARM! Uh oh... AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! ...and then I swam all the way back to M.A.N.T.I.S. territory! Uh, yes Sal, while I'm sure the troops are very inspired by your story, we're nearly in comms range of the outpost, so you'd better get on with disabling their missiles. We're in weapons range now Captain. Very good. Acquire targets. How's it going Sal? Getting there... Captain! We're detecting their weapons powering up! Sal? They're targeting us! SAL! Oh sh- INCOMING! -------------------------------------------------------- <TRANSMISSION LOST> -------------------------------------------------------- <TRANSMISSION REESTABLISHED> -------------------------------------------------------- Damage report! Shields took most of the damage Captain. All systems operational except long range comms. We've really got to start using our own software... Return fire! Take out that missile battery! Firing now! Target destroyed! Excellent! Move in! Commander, prepare your troops for Mean and Nasty Invasion! Well, I finally got to tell the tale of Big Sal's captivity. Unfortunately it made the post a bit long - thanks if you made it to the end! C&C welcome! A few more pics in the spoiler.

The new objective of the Kawashita Group was Mynderis, a incredibly hot planet, constantly erupting and changing. It was choosen for its large reserves of Awesomnium but seemed MANTIS already placed a few plant and facilities on the planet but this didn't stop the Kawashita executive to carry out its plans. Engineer Alexander Vandangant was tasked to be part of the plan; thi time not to build from scratch a new outpost but to take control of one of these facilities, why destroy them when you could take the control and save resources and time? With a Covert Operation squad to support them, Alexander and his squad of enginers landed on Mynderis and started their work, silent and swiftly... = = = = = = = = = And here we are! I'm really happy again with the result again, AG is really stimulating me to bring some nice works out of me! I hope you Enjoy!

[K - B05] The Investigation Continues... Okay, so, somewhere in the creation process, I lost around 3 hours of work, so the scene ended up quite differently from my original idea. However, I'm very satisfied with the result (I've been wanting to build this particular mech (which is also my first), for quite some time now). The build is around 6500 pieces, of which the mech is around 800. I had some trouble uploading the pictures, but the build was still posted before the 10:00 GMT deadline. --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log Begin. Date: 0607(38)15. [K - A05] The Heart of Awsomnium Location: A08, Crentium Tags: Spaceship, Building (the hangar, the judges will have to decide if it counts), Science, Kawashita Before we begin, this story is a direct continuation of Agent Beltar's post "A Strange Deal" which was posted earlier this week, so it will make a lot less sense if you haven't read that one. It's also the culmination of a 3 week storyline I have been doing (previous entries: "More Than Meets the Eye... and The Investigation Continues...). Earlier this week, I discussed with a friend and fellow AG builder. He said that I should probably build a little smaller, since the details might get lost when the size gets too big. I pondered upon this and thought "yea, that makes sense... I should start building smaller things". Then I completely f*cked that up and went on to build my largest build yet. The spaceship is a bit over 3900 pieces, and then there are various scenes, etc. on top of that. The design might seem a bit odd at first, but take into account that it's supposed to be a prototype for testing this particular engine. Now, let's begin. (Since Bluerender renders transparent images very dark, I've decided to include unrendered versions under the Spoiler button directly after the renders. Also, isn't it odd how much "Light Stone Grey" in LDD looks like white?) --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log Begin. Date: 1307(38)15. Scramble code: ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... [Encrypted].//-- [Alpha level clearance check... ... ... ... ... Passed.] As expected, Agent Beltar "came by" earlier. After making sure he received the mail from Lauren, I was pretty certain he would seek me out, and that I would get my pilot for The Heart of Awsomnium. When we got down to the hangar and he first saw the ship, Beltar immediately let out a little gasp. It was clear that he was impressed, despite doing his best to hide it. Recording... begin: Beltar: You want me to pilot... that? Q: Yes. Remember, if you do this for me, I'll get you your files on Lauren. Beltar: *Sigh* Fine, so what is it that is so special about this ship? What do those rings back there do? Q: The Heart of Awsomnium is the first recorded attempt of teleportation by mankind. Beltar: *O_O* What?! Q: I know it may be hard to grasp. A couple of weeks ago, we came across what seemed to be an Awsomnium generator created by an ancient civilization. However, some things were quite off about it. It didn't seem to have any way of outputting the energy, and we found it in the middle of the ocean, not near any other recorded ruins. So, I ordered a team to bring it here in order for me to study it. After a few days, it was clear that my suspicions were correct; it was the remainder of an old teleportation experiment. After a lot of tinkering and even more calculating, I finally managed to create this prototype drive. It is still fairly large, but I hope I can reduce the size over time. The "rings" which you refer to are part of a black hole generator, which has enough pull to fold space-time, thus creating a wormhole between your current location and the destination, which you will go through. Beltar: So... you wish me to become swallowed and spit out by a black hole? Q: If you want to put it like that... yes. Based on my calculations, the shuttle should be able to withstand the pressure, and you should survive. Beltar: And then you will give me the files I need? Q: Yes. [beltar ponders for around half a minute.] Beltar: Fine, in for a penny, in for a pound, right? Also, if this goes according to plan, I'll be the first teleported human! Q: Yes, I suppose. I have downloaded PauL into this smaller astromech droid shell, which will fit in the dock of the ship. The ship is ready whenever you are. [beltar boards the ship and flies it out outside the Kaiju.] Q: I have set the ship's coordinates so that you will be teleported to Marden. It's a peaceful planet within our area of control, so you shouldn't have any problems. As soon as you arrive, set up a comlink to me, and I'll have the coordinates for you to be teleported back calculated. Beltar: Roger that. [beltar takes a deep breath, closes his eyes and turns on the teleporting device.] Beltar: Am I alive? I am alive! Yattaaaa! Wow, awsome, I am the first teleported person! You rock Nu'q! Q: Uhm, all those are technically correct, but it seems you have ended up near Mynderis instead. Also, it seems like you ended up right next to a large M.A.N.T.I.S. fleet. Beltar: Oh, it's gonna be one of THOSE days... Recording... end. The prototype testing was in the end considered a success, despite the loss of The Heart of Awsomnium. The incorrect location of the teleportation device was found to be a result of a minor miscalibration in the calculation software. This has since been fixed. Thanks to its highly explosive Awsomnium core, it seems like the Heart of Awsomnium was completely destroyed and thus unable to be recovered by the nearby M.A.N.T.I.S. fleet. Preliminary readings suggest Agent Beltar managed to escape. His current whereabouts are however unknown. --//Alpha Level Encrypted Private Log End. Signature: Col. QL.
