  2. I haven't built anything from Technic for couple of months so I wanted to create something cool and cute. I took all azure parts from rally car (set 42077) and started building. After few hours I've got this blue shark. It is the third piece in my collection of Technic sharks. I built it just for looks so it features only opening maw and moving fins and tail. All is operated manually. I also built simple stand for it so it don't have to lie on its maw. If you want to build it you can download free building instructions from my website buildinst. I just recommend you to use panels without stickers otherwise it would look awful. Any comments or criticism are welcomed.

So wanted me to build real plane. I started small model in size of these 2 models, but soon decided to add more than rotating propeller so the model got bigger and bigger introducing functions. With size of almost as big as Prop Plane (old technic set from 1988) I could not fit every driving controller to pilots position and it was really hard to manipulate it by child, so I decided to move it outside the model. I strugled with making retracting landing gear operated from cabin and still moving engine pistons and propeller and at this point I remembered, that the lego technic allready has some really similar and newer set. I actually build almost the same model introducing 1 function on top of it. I just have to flip elevator moving direction. Floats was then easy, because pieces needed for them were stil available. I was not happy with color combination so rebuilded the model several times. Even finished model isn't much color pleasing :( but it's the best I could afford from available pieces.

  8. Let me introduce you what I was working on last week - it is going to be helicopter loosely inspired by Bell 47. I call it Nighthawk because it is also my tribute to set 8412 that I got when I was child. I will feature: crank for spinning both rotors fake six-cylinder flat engine with moving pistons lever in cockpit for tilting main rotor (this is not realistic function but it is reproduction of functionality of set 8412) Since I build almost exclusively alternative models this helicopter is no exception. I only use parts from rally car 42077. And now some pictures of my progress: Initial proof of concept to ensure that I have enough gears Prototype of cab with seat and lever The first assembly of whole helicopter (before I took it apart for structural upgrades)
  9. After a grueling 10 hour dual build with my Brother Dugald, we have successfully completed a proper C-Model for the 42077 Lego Rally car. The car can have all the motors easily removed and an HOG steering can been added for a proper C-model. We managed to create completely new suspension, most notably the front suspension tuned in by none other that @DugaldIC with Ackerman steering :) This video was filmed with a Buwizz 2.0, 1 M-motor for drive that powers boxer V6 and servo. This build uses 100% of the parts from the rally car.
