Endor Commando. Guy's face print rocks. -
Comparing the hype train of this film to the last film this one feels like it is lessened for some reason. Is it because the leaks are fewer this time around? Either way despite being the 40th anniversary it all feels so quiet with Star Wars in some sense. We haven't reached over-saturation already have we? Maybe the fun will pick up as we get closer to debut? Oo

The Best 2016 LEGO Star Wars Minifigure -- Game Ended, Thanks for Playing! :)

Hmm all of these sound good. I would love an x-wing through the years look. Or a TIE Fighter through the years look. Then after exhaustive presentations of each model we would vote the best! Heh heh! Or just go with a best of wave1, wave2 type deal that way we can do several per year! Also for waves going forward unless you want to devote a retro version for say wave 1 of 2015, wave 2 of 2015 etc etc.- 254 replies

I would like some luxury sedans for City. I would also love to see a townhouse or something similar specifically for City not Creator. A hospital too would be most welcome as people have said and at least an ambulance >.>

Love it! I also like Fett's flag in use in the courtyard heh heh! Now if only we got a play set in a similar vein to this and I would be all over it! Loved this scene in TFA and always love seeing people's renditions of the castle in LEGO.

[REVIEW] 70349 Ruina's Lock & Roller
Japanbuilder replied to makoy's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Naw, we don't have Ninjago at home. NK is the theme they know best and they love the characters a lot. And you need not acknowledge this set for anything really. Though, if you bought it it would be kinda obvious the damsel appears to be in distress, specially if you don't know what NK is. I mean she is on the cover of the box clearly imprisoned. My view was mostly through adult eyes, if you got Infernox, you saved the queen last year. And now this set comes along, hmm. But all that aside I know from looking at my kids that they love the carriage and rolling it over the carpet seems to bring smiles to their faces and I guess that is all that counts in the end. -
[REVIEW] 70349 Ruina's Lock & Roller
Japanbuilder replied to makoy's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Did a review of this set also at Brickset. Though I do think kids will make do with anything this set offers (since my kids love rolling it around like crazy) the flaws you mention are a real downer. My biggest gripe in my review though was that the Queen was caught again >< That is two years of sets where she has to be rescued. I wish they came up with another story involving the sets she appears in, specially since she is actually tough in the show. Though I will say that given her personality this is the best version of the queen when compared to last year's Infernox set. -
Returning to some of the earlier speculation with regards to Luke. I noticed in the trailer he is made to seem as though he utters that pivotal line 'It is time for the Jedi to end" whilst above a possible cliff. Maybe he thinks to himself, I have trained a force wielder, not a Jedi, and perhaps with a few sprinkles of a moral code. Then he says I am the last Jedi so off this cliff I go so as not to inspire anyone else to come find me and making Jedi out of them. But that is just me thinking darkly. But it sort of makes some sense. He is at a different place in life. He has tried and failed to reignite the fire of the Jedi and after everything is taken into account maybe he does see things a bit like his father did. These opposing dogmas only cause troubles. His father of course chose tyranny over freedom. Luke tried justice it seems, but I am guessing if he did it the Jedi way it was too rigid almost like slavery, so there are two extremes there and I am sure he has come to realize that or sense that. Maybe he has evolved his thinking to the middle as that is another point emphasized by the trailer "balance." Perhaps he has refined force using to be more fluid between moral states. For those times when you need to be stern be stern but fair, when you need to relax, relax but stay alert. It always seemed a bit inhuman to me the way the Jedi were depicted in the prequels. If that is the only template he had to work with, and I am sure it was, then no wonder it was ripe to fail again. The Jedi had no fluidity to move as living beings between states of agency. They had to be just so and nothing but just so. Any deviation led to the "dark side." But I am just rambling still it is interesting if they take that approach as it more closely mirrors some of the more pressing political and philosophical quandaries of the "now" in our world.

Survey: New parts and new colors
Japanbuilder replied to Bonaparte's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Yes, it depends on what you are making but I have some sets from Mega and the builds you can pull off with that part are outstandingly cool. And once you know a thing exists it cannot be unseen. I really really wish LEGO had something similar. -
LEGO Ninjago 2017 Discussion
Japanbuilder replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
The Temple is retired in my region. With the movie coming out I thought I would try to pick up one but the price on it now suggest this thing has been out of distribution here for a few months already. >.< Will have to settle for the forge this year at some point then get one of the big ones released for the movie later this year. I am making a display at my house's entrance and I would like it to be thematically very oriental. -

NEXO KNIGHTS Lance's Mecha Knight - 70312 Alternate (MOC)
Japanbuilder replied to grohl's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Now that is a good use of those parts! I was always disappointed with this set overall build. The horse is too stiff and lacking in details and the bike mode is too flimsy for real play or handling. This build though definitely is a vast advance over the original and suits the character and theme just as well. Good job! -
