  1. Thanks N_Cat I think I will wait for the Lego option and see how much it turns out after shipping. I tried looking into Bricklink but taking into account the cheapest dealers plus shipping the cost turned out to be substantially more than when just shipping via Amazon (which is still astronomically expensive for sets that never came here). In the mean time I looked at some starter sets from the past few years that won't cost me over 80 USD for about 3 or 4 of them to get a decent variety of hair pieces and useful other minifig accessories. I think until Lego restores its service options this will be the "cheapest" route for me domestically. and yes JaseTJ shipping between asian countries is still expensive because the region features similar set limits as Japan. So ordering from even Taiwan would entail them passing on the import cost for them plus the shipping cost all to me. (@.@) it can be very sad to collect in Japan sometimes.
  2. Thanks for the advice everyone. I will look into it. Sadly, the build your own here in Japan varies widely. I would have to trek to Tokyo (which is far from me) to even hope to get matching services as anywhere else. But I shall try!
  3. I do not remember any of my older sets. I stopped building right around the time Space Police vs Blacktron changed the police to all white with the Green logo. I do recall lots of little sets for those though. Pirates, castles, etc. As an adult though the biggest I have so far is the Swamp Police station (just in terms of space occupied and pieces) I hope I can go bigger as my children expand their interest in Lego.
  4. Same boat as you Turnman! After childhood I never looked at Legos again. 2 years ago we began getting starter buckets for our children and BOOM! The Lego fever has come home again! I love putting sets together with my children.
  5. First, my apologies if I am posting in the wrong section of the forums. However, I do need some advice on starting a population explosion for my lego sets. As I begin this project I have noticed some challenges surrounding hair specially. The first complete theme I have fallen into is the 2015 Lego Swamp Police theme. I have all but 2 of the sets in my collection and have noticed that my display is full of triplets and twins and I would like to spice up the variety of faces (for the crooks in particular) by at the very least having different hair pieces. I have tried Amazon but most of the decent vendors with assorted parts do not ship to Japan. The domestic Amazon also does not sell local assorted sets of hair bits and head accessories. Brick link seems ok but with stores all over the world and being in Japan the shipping costs will soon outpace the actual value of the pieces. What sets (starter sets/smaller sets) have you found ideal to start getting a diverse looking population going for your MOCs? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. 宜しくお願いします! (_ _)
  6. Warm greetings to you all from Japan. I have recently returned to building with Legos after many many years of being in a Dark Age. At present I am trying to complete the Swamp Police series from last year. I am very close but some sets are proving difficult to get as we did not get every set for this line. I look forward to seeing everyone's creations and opinions! 宜しくお願いします!
  7. Late to the party, but better late than never. I am putting together the entire series still (2 sets to go) and I got two of these. For someone like myself who liked the design aspect of this series this set is a must. It really helps boost your population for the swamp and gives you figures you can use in the very empty police vehicles (the station alone come with 4 vehicles and 2 of them are two seaters). I would have liked different hair pieces for the sets though as after just a few sets your swamp theme will be populated by triplets and quintuplets all in the same line of work too!
  8. Testing! and Happy New Year! Collecting in Japan after very many years in a Dark Age!
  9. Ugh and the pain of being an adult collector in Japan sinks in again >< I just found out these exist! Sure enough looked them up to see what I could get them for here in Yen and it was expensive! Both of these sets (9348 and 9349) could boost my population count by a lot though and give me some degree of variation for other figures once I take some of these parts to use on my existing sets. Going to have to mull over importing these very hard over the next few months and keep tabs on international lego pages better as the official Japan site goes to great lengths to NOT highlight what sets we are being shorted compared with our fellow collectors abroad.
