A couple of months ago I bought a 8366 Supersonic RC MISB for 180 euros, 30-40 euros less than a cheap used one, and with no shipping costs: the seller lived a few kilometers away from me, so I drove to him and picked it by person. Great deal!

So... I was wondering since I am coming out of my dark ages and purchasing Technic to replenish my supplies, I recently bought the following lot on eBay for 200 Euro and this is what is looked like when it arrived:

(sorry for the phone pics :-p )

And then after a few days of going though all the instruction books and re-attaching pieces, they all look like this:

Needless so say, all models pictured (except a few Town theme models) have their instructions and are in fully working order. Almost all are 100% complete and a few are missing just a little. (i.e. the Air Tech's smoke stacks and horns). The Red Bird Team plane is on its way (the seller forgot to send it).

Bottom line.....did I get too zealous or is was this a good deal to up the stocks of parts for MOC-ing? (I already have a few studless sets). Thanks!

Out of impulse I checked the Polish eBay-like site to look for 42040 (Fire Plane) I wanted for a long time. I found one for $38/£26/33€ and bough it immediately - never saw it cheaper in Poland. It was with a discount because the box was damaged; contents were pristine and not tampered with. Quite cool bargain for me, still waiting for the bargain of my life, though :laugh:

Brand new 42043 for £110.

I've just spent £120 on mine, and I was quite pleased with that!

I'm as pleased for you as I am disappointed in myself ... :laugh:

i bought BNIB sets of 8271 and the second edition of 8453 of €30 each on ebay:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?id=65483#T=S&O={}

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?S=8453-2#T=S&O={}

i picked up several other sets as well, i got 5 copies of 3054 BNIB for €5 each....i got them just for the parts: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=3054-1

i found 8213 BNIB for €16, again it was just for the parts as i need brand new Light Gray parts for other builds i am working on: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8213-1

i got a couple of 1257 for €3 each BNIB, some nice parts in that set: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=1257-1

got 8236 BNIB for €21: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8236-1

i got 8433 for €47, the set was 30 but the shipping killed me at €17, its got some amazing and super RARE coloured parts: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemInv.asp?S=8433-1

it had parts thar are used in 8653 and 8461...so i was very pleased with this.

i also got 8291 off an Aussie seller, it had no box and was missing the tyres/white rims....but the parts bags were still factory sealed and had the main model instrctions included, the B model instructions was missing....in total with shipping to Ireland i paid €33, i think that was a bargin!

How/where? Ebay or local marketplace?

Vienna, Austria. A larger supermarket chain had a discount weekend (20 % off on all toys with free delivery above € 100,-). they do this 3 to 4 times a year...

Their prices on Lego are quite competitive even without discounts....

I recently managed to buy two blue pneumatic air tanks for £6.50 each; can't wait to get them so I can suss out how to they'll fit into my 42043. Speaking of which... a while back I got one of the small pneumatic cylinders from that set for only 99p(!) No idea how it went un-noticed with no other bidders. There's also a complete pack of hoses for £10 - not a braggable price, but worth it for their essential utility.

So much squeezy pumpin' fun ahead, awww yeah.
