TLG needs to know what colors are missing in existing elements

Recommended Posts

From TLG:

Hi LEGO Fans,

The LEGO Community Development would like to know which of the already existing elements would be needed most urgently in missing colors. Some optimism presumed the number one of the resulting list could end in a "color change" and might be produced in the future.

To participate - the way is as follows:

Suggestions need to be send by email until the 30.06.2010. These suggestions will be sorted and afterwards published for a voting. The final chart will be send to the LCD Team.

For easier handling the suggestions should be aligned to the description of the BrickLink catalogue: www.bricklink.com/catalogTree.asp?itemType=P

Suggestions only will be accepted in a color which is still in production. So e.g."Fabuland brown" is invalid because production of this color was stoped in 1997.

An overview about the actual colors could be downloaded here: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/uploads/1263973081/gallery_148_37_26696.jpg

An example:

Part No: 50746

Name: Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3

New color: brick-yellow (tan)

Now take your chance to influence the future, but again - follow the instructions as in the example !

Do you have to point out a specific part and color?

Generally speaking, I would like to see more basic bricks and plates (especially those of larger sizes) made in transparent colors. These kinds of pieces were common at one time in the 80s, but have become rare today.

I second this and would like to add, that clear transparent bricks in general are really cool.

Imagine a transparent minifig!

The re-introduction of the "big plant leaves" 2417in 'normal' green would be nice. The last set it came in in this color was released 2004!

Honestly, what part to the instructions below was that hard to understand :hmpf_bad:?:

A quick search of Bricklink reveals the minifig torso to be part number 973!

The text you quoted does not really address my question. I wasn't sure if they were taking multiple part requests and was just thinking that it may make more sense to send in a generic request, instead of a long list of the same part(s) in different colors. From what other people are posting though, such a list seems to be okay.

I think my quote, and the original request from TLG DOES adress your post:

Could be hard to put something as number one on a list by suggesting basic bricks and plates (especially those of larger sizes)?!
For easier handling the suggestions should be aligned to the description of the BrickLink catalogue: www.bricklink.com/catalogTree.asp?itemType=P
To me a pretty clear instruction that they want the part described by using the Bricklink number&name!
Suggestions only will be accepted in a color which is still in production. So e.g."Fabuland brown" is invalid because production of this color was stoped in 1997. An overview about the actual colors could be downloaded here:
Again to me, a pretty clear instruction that they want the specific part described in a specific color as seen in the color overview.
An example:

Part No: 50746

Name: Slope 30 1 x 1 x 2/3

New color: brick-yellow (tan)

And as the topping on the cake, they even show an example on how they want it to be presented to them!

What was that to be unsure about :hmpf_bad:?!

Calm down, dude. I can't see why you're getting worked up over such a simple question.

None of that says whether you are actually allowed to submit more than one entry. If it is so important to specify a precise part and color, I was thinking it may suggest that they don't want people submitting several, similar entries.
