RileyC Posted December 13, 2009 this year I bought: Overall, I feel it was a great buying year for me. Next year should be even better.
MetroiD Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) A really fun topic, Holodoc! Let's see what us otters got ourselves this year, hmmm... Seeing as this has been the year during which I actually came out of my dark ages and we both started really MOCcing, I guess we had some work to do with stuff we missed on earlier. Here we go then: Town: 2х Trains: (u) (u) (u) (u) + a bunch of (u) (u) (u) (u) Misc: 2x Add to that umpteen BL orders & in the end it turns out that 2009 has been a good year in terms of LEGO purchasing. Which was pretty much the only good thing about it, so I couldn't be happier that it's finally coming to an end. P.S.: Our wishlist for 2010 is topped by the upcoming 10211 Grand Emporium, followed closely by 10194 Emerald Night, 10193 Medieval Market and 10197 Fire Brigade. Of course, we're also planning on purchasing a few of the current City sets as well, along with a few other Exclusives (the 10210 Imperial Flagship, most notably!) and some more train sets (10183 Hobby Trains is a primary objective there!)... Piranha Posted December 14, 2009 Thank you for your replies so far! It's indeed very interesting to see what the members are fond of. Nice idea of posting the purchases theme-wise. But please refrain from posting the thumbnails one below the other. It makes it very uncomfortable to look at. For the ease of reading, please continue in posting them next to each other. Thank you very much! Maybe macoco, legoman and MaxGoof can fix their postings? Sorry I seem to be the one who started that Fixed This topic is the one with the most rigorous guidelines I have posted in \ (Besides the Reviewer's Academy of course )
Diamondback Posted December 14, 2009 Pirates: all except the games and Advent Calendar (any East of the Pond EB'ers got a hookup on helping a North American out?) Indy: ALL SW: Most of Classic Trilogy, I quit the Clone Wars stuff aside from things that also appeared in Episodes II/III Until Trains comes back, this is all I do for LEGO--I have too many memories of Classic Town and Classic Space to tarnish 'em with the new stuff, not to mention other projects competing for my hard-earned and meager budget... Dreamweb Posted December 14, 2009 (edited) All new Pirate sets (except all those game-sets, calendar and other non-standard sets, but I did get the Pirate Construction Kit or whatever that was called). Some of the smaller ones I bought in multiple quantities (especially Cannon Battle and Solder's Arsenal). A few impulse sets - City, Castle, Space Police, I'm a big fan of this impulse stuff. An old NBA set I found in a shop - I bought it for dark-skinned minifigs. Can't remember anything else at the moment, Pirates were my main target this year... Sorry, no thumbnails, but there isn't much point in adding them I think. Edited December 14, 2009 by Dreamweb

I think 7 or 8 across then start a new row. I'll be posting mine shortly. Wow, mines not as big as I thought, I think I'm forgetting stuff, it's hard to think of them all on the spot. x5 x5
MagPiesRUs Posted December 18, 2009 A great topic indeed. Here's my lot for 2009. I'm surprised to say I made no eBay or trademe purchases this year.
Sergiu Posted December 18, 2009 This year I only managed to buy one set, but I made two very expensive Bricklink orders.
Holodoc Posted December 18, 2009 @The Otters: Very nice selection, indeed! Especially the older trains sets are a great choice. This year I only managed to buy one set, but I made two very expensive Bricklink orders. A nice set if it's the only one, but now you really made me curious: What did you buy at BL? Luke McAwesome Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Oh, man, this is going to be scary to look at... ------------------------------- And two green 32x32 baseplates. And countless expensive BrickLink orders. I think I can hear my wallet sobbing... Edited January 6, 2010 by Striker
MetroiD Posted December 18, 2009 @The Otters: Very nice selection, indeed! Thanks, fellow Berliner :))) I've been lucky enough to add another one (the 7894 airport) to this year's sets - although it's technically not "bought" - I received it as a bday present And who knows, I might just manage to add another wonderful train set before the end of the year... wish me luck! Sir Fred Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Not to much this year, picked up some decent deals though x2 x2 I think that's it, I'll add what I get for Christmas. Edited December 18, 2009 by Sir Fred
Luke McAwesome Posted December 18, 2009 (edited) Sir Fred, you need to turn the [image] tags into for it to show up in your post. EDIT: Oops, you did as I was posting this. Edited December 18, 2009 by Striker
Sergiu Posted December 19, 2009 A nice set if it's the only one, but now you really made me curious: What did you buy at BL? I bought roughly 3000 pieces from Bricklink for a new MOC, which hopefully will be ready in 2 or 3 weeks. Also I just bought 8265 Front Loader, but not from Bricklink. The order was a last minute decission and it should arrive on Tuesday, in time for Christmas.
madoka Posted December 23, 2009 I bought somewhere along the lines of 2,500 sets +/- a couple hundred sets this year. And another $10,000 or so for parts from BL and ebay. I try not to think about it too much as it would probably horrify me and make me question my sanity.
Batbrick Posted December 23, 2009 Too much. But going off memory: I think - and hope - that's it. Batbrick Away!
Ricecracker Posted December 23, 2009 I just updated my list... and was presented with the friendly, "This post contains too many images" notice .

Zorbas Posted December 31, 2009 The last addition/edit has been made from me. Last but not least for the year 2009 is the Brickbeard's Bounty. A great set to close a wonderful LEGO year. I wanted something special for good luck I guess. A great thanks from me Holodoc for this wonderful and useful topic since it's the first time that I got into the habbit of tracking the sets I bought. Happy New Year everyone!
