I dunno, Arkham may take the cake. Though they had nothing else to do because they didn't have any content. Invincible gets fairly regular seasons and even during the season everyone's in the aslume. (You want to see a really insane one, 99% of the time fans are talking about a character from the show jjk they call them by the name of songs used in edits about them. Like the damage And We Run did to invincible, but on steroids) I really do hope we see something soon. If the snowtroopers have removable masks, it would be a huge boon to the figure selection. 3 hours ago, Kaijumeister said: Still need to start watching the show but the amount of positive reception I’ve been seeing across the board is astounding. Can’t wait to get started. That’s a good point, completely banking on the Mando and the Smart Brick sets to essentially carry the whole year is a bold move - considering reception towards both types of sets so far. Agreed. I hope the Sandcrawler sets a precedent for similar sets in the future with larger piece counts and a more comprehensive ‘play experience’. I love how it doesn’t just include the main vehicle but the Mudhorn and Kuiil’s sled (with a Blurrg?) too. It’s a refreshing change from a lot of Star Wars sets trying to get away with providing as little as possible for what you pay. I’d be so down for a new B1 mould that provides a little more articulation. Some Lego moulds and designs do indeed stand the test of time even decades into their lifespan, but the B1 battle droid does not. The figure is far too spindly. What’s funny is the head and arms are largely fine, but a new body piece that can accommodate independently attached legs would be awesome. I haven't seen this week's episodes yet, but the first two were astounding. Yup. They're both ones that hypothetically should be popular with kids, but you'd think lego would want to hedge their bets a little more. 100%- this set is only $40 more than the Galactic Marine Battle Pack, yet it feels like it's twice the set that one is. It really is just too spindly- a lot of the molds around that time didn't feel very lego-like. I don't know if fully bar-thick would work, but just a little more than what we currently have. 2 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: You couldn’t pose them any different than you can now, unless you place them on a plate I mean... the same thing is true of minifigures. They can't really stand on a single leg either. As for the spindliness, I would like them to be less spindly. Thicker, separated legs would look much more lego-like in my view. 2 hours ago, Darth_Bane13 said: I think it's the best start to any animated Star Wars show, outside of maybe 03 Clone Wars. Absolutely. Rebels is an excellent show but it takes awhile to really get going. Clone Wars 2008... the movie really isn't very good in my opinion, and while 1x1 is a good episode that encapsulates one of the show's themes, I would say the Maul pilot beats it. I don't remember the Resistance pilot. Clone Wars 03 I would say definitely gets beaten by maul, the show is cool, but cool is all it is- it's an awesome show but the lack of depth is sort of the point, the whole goal was to just show a bunch of snippets of cool battles. The Maul show has some plot and character depth. Quote

It's kinda frustrating - I can go into the next supermarket and easily buy 5 magazines but shipping would still cost much more than the mags. I wonder how - for example - Bricks & Minifigs and other shops do it. When I see a Youtube video of some person walking through a B&M shop there are often (always?) some bags from European magazines for sale. EDIT: now that I check again DHL shipping prices start at €15,99 (Which seems okay), but you get no insurance and no tracking for the cheaper packages. And you can only ship private 'gift' packages up to a value of $100/€85 due to new restrictions. Edited Monday at 09:44 PM by Yperio_Bricks Quote

Yeah it kind of does lack depth but it makes up for it by being some of the coolest Star Wars media ever made imo. It's not really a fair comparison to maul anyways though since 03 started out as short little episodes between commercials. I think maul s1 will definitely end up much better than clone wars or rebels, which both kind of had rough starts. I'm glad Star Wars seems to be turning it around on the show front with Andor s2 and now Maul. Quote

Yeah- I run a Bricklink account and have shipped a few orders to europe- every time I message the buyer like "hey, is this really worth it to you?" because shipping always ends up being more than the item. We're pampered by how comparatively low shipping is in country/EU (I assume, for the latter) that we forget to go overseas- at least with any reasonable speed- it has to go on a plane. It was more of a joke wish than a real suggestion, but I thank you for the analysis nonetheless. The Maul show is amazing and I wish we could get a whole wave of sets for it- every episode shows off new characters and vehicles that would be great. Some of the stuff that makes this show so excellent: Spoiler Maul is convincing. Not only does he act perfectly civil until Devon makes clear she's only going to accept a fight, his speech comes across as much more real and persuasive than the standard "come to the dark side, we will give you untamed power"- he's pretty up front about "hey, I'm going to use you to help me complete my objective", but his whole thing about how Devon had her destiny torn out from under her by the same guy who killed Maul's family? That's TRUE. I'm sure he'd cast her aside if the situation came to it, but he gives the speech in a way that made me wonder if he maybe really did see Devon as a kindred spirit. More expectation subversion in a good way- Lawson and his fellow officers continue to be legitimately good people, and even the bit of conflict with Two-boots is understandable- from his comment about how the republic would send a Jedi to help, he clearly just doesn't get that the Empire is a different form of government, and Lawson's unable to effectively communicate that given his feelings about his ex-wife's involvement with the empire. Lawson also gets to go to his son's shockball game, even if he does have to leave partway through, which I wasn't expecting. Nor was I expecting Shockball to be just normal Lacrosse, but that sport's basically star wars-y enough anyway. The side characters are all great. Vario is a character that could easily be extremely grating, but he's becoming a close second to Hondo for me, he's hilarious. And I'll give a shoutout to his VA Chris Diamantopoulos for that "Tell them- I'm the one" line, that had some venom in it. I think Rook only had two or three lines but I love her. And the Blackout Mandos continue to fulfill Fett's OT tradition of existing solely to aura farm and keep their helmets on, which I'm obviously a fan of. Devon isn't annoying. I was convinced she would be annoying- the young jedi protagonist always is to start. And her first scene or two in the show weren't great, but the second she runs into Maul the actress really gets to shine. You can tell she's putting on a brave face during her conversations with Maul but really is wondering if he's right, and holy cow, that scream before her last attack on Maul in episode 3 was incredible. I'm sure Gideon Adlen demolished her vocal chords with that one, it's very impressive- the only time I've ever heard an expression like that in SW voice acting from anyone beyond Maul's actor. And Sam Witwer of course is the star of the show. You can FEEL his passion for the character, for the universe, in every line he has. I'm not sure if it was used in previous episodes, but I was definitely able to tell they mixed his screams into Maul's saber whooshes in these episodes, and it adds a primal feeling to his fights even when he's fully in control, really adding to the theme that all that rage may be bottled up inside, but it's still there. Somehow despite writing all that I STILL feel as if I'm underselling the show. Pound-for-Pound, it might be better than Andor if it manages to keep this pace. I’d love to see a new mould for the Snowtrooper helmet but beyond that, can’t think of much that would make for an interesting minifigure selection based on what we know of the film so far. My desired fig list: Officer Beard (the confirmed warlord), the armoured commander from the D23 trailer, 2 Remnant Snowtroopers, Mando and 2 AT AT Drivers. Mando is optional, can be replaced with another AT RT driver or one of the other warlords at the meeting. I think I heard somewhere that Pellaeon’s actor was on the casting calls but I’m honestly not sure. As for features: 3 seater cockpit, decent troop capacity/ main bay, weapon racks, cargo crates, accurate mid section entrance hatch, and not too spindly on the legs. 13 hours ago, Darth_Bane13 said: I think it's the best start to any animated Star Wars show, outside of maybe 03 Clone Wars. I’d say that Bad Batch had a strong start with its first 2 episodes. But then went on to become hit or miss for most of the rest of seasons 1&2. The Ryloth and Bracca arcs in season 1 being the exceptions. And S2 is hard carried by the mid-season Coruscant arc and the Crosshair episodes (The Outpost was so artistically done.) S3 was pretty strong throughout though. But yeah. Maul easily takes the win for best start here. Can’t wait to see Maul build up to 5 Star Wanted Level. 9 hours ago, Darth_Bane13 said: I'm glad Star Wars seems to be turning it around on the show front with Andor s2 and now Maul. The recent streak of good content can lead to the revitalisation of the fanbase as long as the goodwill keeps building up. If M&G and Ahsoka S2 can keep the torch of hype lit, Starfighter may become the franchise’s triumphant return to where it belongs in the mainstream. The double edged saber- something like this doesn't feel very desirable to a lot of people, but if they did a desirable minifigure, you get all the complaints about how lego's taking advantage of FOMO or using scummy tactics somehow (I don't agree- but I do prefer when they don't include exclusive elements). I know nobody else likes it, but the Death Star GWP was probably my favorite of the modern era- something that's a nice expansion to the set, but has nothing exclusive and which you can bricklink the parts for without much trouble. The 2024 droid carrier would also fit here. Quote

Yeah, it’s not the most exciting May 4th promo we’ve had. I also miss the simpler polybags as well thought I have liked some of the recent stuff like the Clone training centre. I agree with others about the Maul show, I finally got round too watching the first two episodes and it was a really great premiere. I know Lego hasn’t really touched the animated series much in recent years but it would be a huge shame if we got nothing. I can think of a t least 4/5 sets they could do based off the first episode alone! Quote

This is exactly the sort of story a lot of us fans have been wanting for a while. 6 hours ago, Darth_Bane13 said: I can't help but feel this movie is gonna flop, no one seems to be talking about it. All that said I do hope it's good even if I'm not excited for it. I tend to agree, in my opinion this movie would have to perform as well as Rogue One ($1.056 billion) to be considered successful, anything less will be spun in a negative way culturally and from an internal corporate perspective based on how they have reportedly been looking at Avatar 3 performance. But LF is also poised to save face and spin M&G as a victory lap for the D+ show era, budget was intentionally kept low so they can claim moderate profits as just a fun final hurrah for the fans, but I expect they intend to sunset the entire era and move on after Ahsoka S2. I think it's obvious that Starfighter is their best chance out, especially considering the success of Hail Mary, it flings them forward into the future and it's lined up to be the movie that brings back the normies. It's important for folks to remember M&G was Iger putting a gun to their head and telling them to make the movie, this has never been pitched as the triumphant return, it was a cynical corporate decision from the getgo, however the artists are talented and I expect the movie to be that teams finest work, but I don't think its going to launch renewed interest in that era. At best it will serve as a decent conclusion to Grogu's child phase so they can age him up and add him to a new post ST era. In terms of LEGO, it's why I don't mind a Mando heavy year, I don't think they intend to look back much after this era ends, similar to sequel merch. Obviously FOMO in lego is ridiculous when these sets will be on shelves at least a year or more, but now is a decent time to get Mando stuff if you think you might miss it in five years but that's just my opinion. In terms of Maul sets, I think that show is primed to have an incredible first season that picks up cultural momentum and results in much more attention on Season 2, so I don't mind missing out on sets this year, I think we will get some good maul sets eventually, the show is gaining in popularity and there are going to be so many great vehicles and figs to do. BrickPrick Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Yep, that's one sleek looking UCS N-1 Starfighter. If it was the regular Naboo model, I'd be very tempted to get it someday. The Darksaber GWP looks pretty polished, but there was nothing in the Lego Star Wars world to make me excited for that. Happily just received last year's Christmas Jawa via nice and simple family trade. It definitely was the clear highlight of a conceptually welcoming Advent Calendar variation that just couldn't interest me much content-wise. Help me, potential August Summer Wave™ leaks. You are my only hope. Quote
