Yeah it feels like we’re long overdue some Quidditch themed sets. The Burrow retires this year (December I think?). So I could see them doing a smaller version maybe. Perhaps one that was based of Bill and Fleur’s wedding with the marquee etc. The third task in the maze and the duel in the graveyard haven’t been done in a while so maybe that too. For the 50th anniversary of Star Wars, Lego are doing some anniversary figures based of the concept art for the first film. Since it’s the 30th anniversary of the Philosophers Stone book, something like a figure based of the Dumbledore illustration on the back of the original cover would be cool.

Finally a Mon Mothma figure! And a new mould for Carbonite Han, the existing piece has held up really well (despite being 16 years old) so it’ll be interesting to see how they top it.

Yeah those aren’t great. All 3 Disney CMF series had quite a few non humanoid characters but they still translated pretty well into LEGO. Merlin and the Executioner look pretty good. I’m not sure why they chose the Dragon as a CMF? Who else do we have left? I could see Charming and the Fairy Godmother being good.

Yeah that’s a fantastic set, leaps and bounds better than the previous ones. I really like some of the side builds they’ve included, especially the boat car and the Bikini Bottom sign. This makes me really excited to see what they’d do with something like the Krusty Krab.

I assumed the Richard Harris head/beard was just a placeholder but that is a shame if it’s the actual version.

Yeah, whilst I love the current HP theme I can definitly see that. I always thought (like you said) the 2010 line struck a good balance between being movie accurate but still maintaining that whimsy/magical feel. Like in the 2010 Hogwarts set you had stuff like the hidden objects in Dumbledore’s office, Sirius Black’s face in the common room fire, the diary hidden behind a knight etc. Things like that are missing from some of the more recent sets. That being said I do love the reboot line, as many others have said it is the “gold standard” for reboots and has given us pretty much everything you could ask for since coming back. The Star Wars line could learn a lot from it at the moment. Indiana Jones is a weird one. Because the three sets we got were brilliant and I genuinely can’t think of a single thing to criticise about any of them. But it was so disappointing that they stopped there. They could have done some Brickheadz and more sets based of the other films. Toy Story had a fantastic line in 2010 (as did Cars for that matter). But the 2019 4+ stuff was very disappointing. I also never really loved the use of the minifigure heads for Buzz, Woody and Jessie as opposed to the moulded heads they used in the original line. The 2026 sets are ok but still a far cry from the OG sets. The Incredibles wasn’t a revived line but it did get caught up in the 4+ stuff. One thing I will say (and perhaps this is my own nostalgia talking) is that it does feel like 2008-2014ish was like a golden age for licences themes. Films like Crystal Skull, Stranger Tides and Toy Story 3 got a good range of sets whilst previous films in their respective series also got good coverage. In addition there was also a healthy balance of sets too, like there’s weren’t themes composed of exclusively 4+ or exclusively £300+ sets like we sometimes see today.

I actually really like the sound of those. It’s the anniversary year after all so they may as well go all out. Hopefully we get pink shorts guy in the Landspeeder set!

I’m sure it will be good but it is a bit of a dull choice seen we’ve had quite a few versions so far. Would have been cool to get something more related to the Ministry.

Yeah both of those sets look great. The Mndo figures in the Sandcrawler looks great.

Agreed. When I think of Main Street I was picturing something like the Diagon Alley set where you have a row of buildings that can be reconfigured into a street that leads to the castle.

Love this. As others have said the chairs look really good.

1. Realistically I think the Adults Welcome/18+ stuff will continue and I could see them going down the skyline option like you mentioned. I think they’ll also still do the buildable figures like Greivous/IG-88/AZI-3 etc. Maybe even stuff like the book nooks as well. I can’t say I want to get more 18+ stuff but I don’t think any of it going away either. 2. I’d love to see that range of good <£50 sets. We’ve actually had some good sets recently like Cobb Vanth’s speeder, the BARC speeder escape etc. But I hope to see a return to some of the sets from the late 2010s. Things like Yoda’s Hut, the Jedi Interceptors, the carbonate freezing chamber, the Duel on Starkiller base. 3. Agree with what you said and I’d like to see more sets that take inspiration from the Hogwarts system that the HP line has been doing. Playsets that prioritise detail and accuracy but aren’t locked behind some insane £500+ price point. Like if they wanted to do the Battle of Endor for example, they could have a set containing the shield generator and some speeder bikes and then another set that focused on the Ewok Village and the various traps they set up etc. In general, I really want them to bring back the “wow!” factor in the theme. There was a time when sets really felt like they were bringing something new to the table whereas now they often feel the same or sometimes inferior to the previous versions (like Mando’s speeder or the Turbo Tank).

Yeah, there have been a number of rooms in the system like the DADA classroom and now the Chamber and the Slytherin common room too which would have benefited from being a “normal” room rather than a pull out set. I didn’t even realise until now but the door to the chamber that was included in the 2021 set seems to have been omitted here.

All 3 sets look pretty good actually. The shuttle feels an improvement over the 2021 version though I feel like we need to see some more pictures. Not usually a fan of the brick-built stuff but that Vader does look really good.

The Hutt droid looks like a Boba Fett mech. The Embo figure and the dog look good. The advent calendar looks awesome and a big upgrade from last years. I’d honestly buy it just for the IG droid!

Dumbledore’s office looks great. It’s always hard to do the office justice when it’s part of a larger set (like the recent Grand Tower or the 2019 Clocktower). Really like all the little details they’ve included. I actually wouldn’t mind if they did something like this for the DADA classroom or the Gryffindor common room. I would hope we at least get the Astronomy Tower.

That looks very good. Impressive number of minifigs too.

It is kind of crazy that we’re just a month and a bit out from the films release and it feels like there’s barely any hype whatsoever. Yeah, it’s not the most exciting May 4th promo we’ve had. I also miss the simpler polybags as well thought I have liked some of the recent stuff like the Clone training centre. I agree with others about the Maul show, I finally got round too watching the first two episodes and it was a really great premiere. I know Lego hasn’t really touched the animated series much in recent years but it would be a huge shame if we got nothing. I can think of a t least 4/5 sets they could do based off the first episode alone!

I wasn’t aware of that! That’s interesting to hear. Like others I’m guessing it will be an OOTP based set since the last Ministry set was based off DH1. It’s just occurred to me that OOTP is the only film whose climax/final battle has never been depicted before. The final battle in the first 3 movies have all been done several times, and we’ve had two graveyard duel sets based off GoF. The Half Blood Prince sort of gets done in the 2010 Hogwarts set and both Malloy Manor and the Battle of Hogwarts have had sets recently. The Battle at the Ministry has never been done before.

That’s going to be an epic set! Off the top of my head there’s so many rooms include: Main Atrium Umbridge’s Office Arthur’s Office Yaxley’s Office Wizengamot Courtoom All the rooms featured in the Battle of Mysteries (wonder if they might include rooms from the books too) Interesting as they say it can be connected to Diagon Alley and Hogsmede.

It is odd they went for the alien over Buzz. I can’t say I’m a huge fan of the brickbuilt characters but you’d think they’d have had Buzz in there too as well. With so many licences themes getting large 18+ sets (SpongeBob/POTC/LotR etc). I’m surprised Toy Story didn’t get one at all. Like for the 30th Anniversary they could have done Andy’s room or maybe a Pizza Planet Truck or something complete with all the characters. I don’t think the sets we’ve got are bad but it just seems like such a missed opportunity given what other themes have got. Even something like a Speed Champions Pizza Planet truck with Woody and Buzz would have been cool (I know the scale wouldn’t make sense but still).

The Wild West has leaked, it appears to be a 4+ set with a barn, Woody, Jessie, Bullseye and two unicorns. I’m assuming this is the only Toy Story 5 set?

A Rebel Friend set sounds cool but I’d also like to see last years Clone Turbo Tank and the Death Slice being converted into SMART brick sets.

Yeah it’s disappointing they went down the buildable only route. I do miss the 2009-2010 wave of movie tie in sets.
