That said, Marrok probably won’t have a big enough role in the movie to warrant a new wolf-like piece and a brick-built version would likely look pretty dinky Quote

Pretty much every set, even the ones that (in my opinion) are extremely overpriced (MTT or CTT last summer, for example) are cleaned out for at least a few weeks before they get a new shipment. Unless these are flying off the shelves and being replenished immediately, they don't seem to be moving very quickly... Curious what others have seen. They've definitely put effort into the rollout of them, because they're either on endcaps or separate displays at each store I've seen - including displays near the front of the store in non-toy areas. It seemed like none of them had been sold yet at mine either. I can't blame people, looking at the boxes they seem pretty puny for the price. Quote

Embo and Marrok aren’t completely far-fetched either given Embo already has a toy via the Disney Store figure set too. I really hope so. I can understand shows like the Acolyte being seen as too risky to make toys on (even though a Qimir figure would be much appreciated), but a show based on Maul being ignored just seems odd. Just quoting this part to keep the quote short but yes absolutely! Summer 2021 then introduced arm prints for Boba, Fennec, Echo etc. That Beskar Mando really did open the floodgates for better minifigure detailing in the theme. I still think the Spider-Punk rumor feels far-fetched, unless it's just a normal spider-man who happens to include a mohawk and guitar in a set of accessories. He just seems like a weird variant for the first marvel maxifig, when the previous ones have been franchise/theme leads/mascots (spacemen, red-shirt-blue-pants, captain brickbeard, santa, harry and hermoine, Vader). Peter or Miles would seem more likely (Or Iron Man or Captain America or Hulk) I think lego made the right choice with Acolyte between the show's reception, viewership, S2 cancellation, and my local ollies' being stuffed with the hasbro merch for it. But a Maul show? We don't have numbers yet, but fans seem to love it, and regardless of that, it's not an adult-skewing live-action series advertised with no recognizable characters. It's an animated series featuring Darth Maul and Mandalorians, some pretty marketable characters. Lego LOVES Maul. Mandalorians are the only faction besides clones to receive more than one battle pack since the sequels ended. The only thing I can think of is that the Year Of Mando was already planned out before they found out Maul was 2026, and with Mando already butting heads with their finally-complete-in-their-eyes smart sets, there just wasn't room. 2 hours ago, BrickBob Studpants said: You mean Rotta and Embo? Yes, Marrok (Anooba) would make sense along Embo, but like you said I doubt he'll be in a set at all. 1 hour ago, Meaf said: It seemed like none of them had been sold yet at mine either. The Amazon sales data wasn't great in the US or UK either- not as bad as the anecdotal stuff we're seeing, but not good by any means. I wonder what their profit margins are on these, and if highly publicized price reductions might help. Honestly, making the Advanced and X-wing loss leaders could have been wise. Like, if talking to Luke would change one's opinion on the Smart Brick due to some Jedi mind trick. "This set buy you must." Quote

I feel like that's got to be it, right? It is weird that they couldn't even fit in one, but with how packed this year is maybe they figured it'd be better to hold off until next year, or perhaps until another season comes out? Even then it's weird given that it's Maul and Mandos. I get that maybe they're still a little gunshy about doing sets for the cartoons but surely they're not stupid enough to blame the failure of the second BB set on the show's popularity, and not, you know, the ridiculous price for an already extremely niche vehicle? Yeah, repeating names is realistic in a sense, but come on, that was super unnecessary. Rant over. It sounds like a lot, but there's two factors that come in: 1. It's seven characters/groups out of hundreds he's made over decades. Listing them all out it seems like a lot, but if you list out every character/legion/group created for Filoni projects, they're a drop in the bucket. 2. I think at a certain point it stopped being him and started being his staff joking with him. If I remember right he didn't want Trapper Wolf to exist at all and the crew pushed him into it. Marrok is frustrating, though. They could at least have spelled it differently. I assume everyone just forgot since "Embo's Pet" is a pretty obscure thing, but you'd think the story group would be plugging new names into wookiepedia before approving them. Quote

It just feels like with how much time they had, they'd have figured more of this out. I wonder if "9 years" means moreso that they started 9 years ago, rather than worked on it for 9 continuous years. Maybe development was paused and recently restarted. It really does, it may not be technically the most accurate in detailing but I think choosing to go studded rather than tiled gets the feel of the vehicle across better. Yes, it will be glorious. Anticipation aside, I know I will be feeling extremely empty once this thing hit shelves and having built it myself. I was recently seeing a list of most overdue set remakes and what do you know... The Bounty Hunter Pursuit was at the very top. In terms of more requested set revivals, it will be very tough to top this one for the foreseeable future. Not that many yellow only minifigure heads left, I think. Are there even any besides Zam for Lego Star Wars? Definitely tend for the latter. I highly doubt this thing was in continuous development for this long. Feels more like they may have toyed with an idea a whole while back, putting it on ice several times, only to return to iterate on it every now and then. Oh, I absolutely agree on this. While I see many great MOCs out there, more often than not I feel like they are designed just way too smooth around the edges. In isolation, it looks asthetically pleasing, but it doesn't look like Lego that much, if you know what I mean. But of course, the amount of smoothness needed depends on the source material in question. I mean, a Naboo Royal Starship, not that it ever gets made, would look ridiculous with all those exposed studs on the outside. There needs to be an end to small and sleek ships being too large and large vehicles being too small in this theme. 6 hours ago, CloneCommando99 said: Vader’s TIE is now at 400+ sales in the last month on Amazon UK. Have we ever been 2 months away from sets releasing in any theme without any idea of what the contents will actually be? I do remain hopeful at least a couple of sets from that list in January will make it through this year - the simultaneous lack of confirmation nor denial from leakers on the subject increases my optimism. I wonder if waves for each theme releasing in the same month have their product photos and lifestyle images taken at the same time too. I would assume so given how expensive and logistically difficult it would be otherwise. If that is indeed the case then official images should already exist. Could be wrong though. As a quick aside, but I am blown away by how good both waves of Lego One Piece have been. That is a playscale theme done right and Star Wars could learn a lesson or two from it. I truly do think this is an issue with the overall direction being prescribed for this theme rather than the designers who do the best they can. Edited April 10 by Kaijumeister Quote
