  1. The organisers of the Games invited the native races of Andromeda to participate in the events. A number of alien races accepted and sent competitors. Unfortunately, there were some errors in the rules that were sent to them. For the GARC event, there was a typo in the title... Alien CRAG 1: Alien CRAG 2: Thanks for reading! C&C welcome!
  2. The Flying Saucer piloted by the Greys - Luckily it didn't crash this time! Ready to explore the far reaches of space (and Earth now and again!). The Flying Saucer has retractable landing legs so that it can be displayed as having landed or can be flown about with the landing legs up and fully secured. Three of the Aliens come with their own piece of Alien technology and the other one has a map (even Alien's can get lost!) Please support my idea. Any feedback is also very much welcome! Thank you in advance! VOTE HERE
  3. If you are out on a day trip to an alien world, remember please do not pick the flowers.
  4. By the year 2500, Humanity has come to rely on Moscovium, a powerful but dangerous elemental fuel. Energy giant EnCorp has a monopoly over the element, both mining and processing Moscovium ore. When an accident occurs at one of EnCorp's processing plants, how does Safety Director Covup respond?
  5. Hope you don't mind me posting this. I've just created a new set over on LEGO IDEAS based on Close Encounters of the Third Kind. Any support would be very much appreciated. Any feedback is also very much welcome! SUPPORT HERE ! Thank you in advance!

  7. Made for a competition at the Swedish LUG Swebrick. The theme was horror. I used a lot of parts from the new constraction figures line but the main body is almost only system. Fully articulated though the weight makes some poses hard. For LDD I changed the colorscheme to mostly tan and dark tan. Some parts were however not available in LDD. facehugger01 by mordatre, on Flickr facehugger02 by mordatre, on Flickr facehugger03 by mordatre, on Flickr facehugger04 by mordatre, on Flickr
  8. The organisers of the Games invited the native races of Andromeda to participate in the events. A number of alien races accepted and sent competitors. Unfortunately, there were some errors in the rules that were sent to them. For the Land Race event, there were, uh, some typos that meant the Aliens are somehow riding bikes, I guess? 9. This is a build inspired by someone else's MOC. Thanks for the great build, LegoLogical. The video of his build is a LOT nicer - I'm just riffing with my spare parts here. Although the Canto Bight story line from The Last Jedi surprisingly doesn't involve gambling - I'm sure TLG is going to give us a scene from this planet eventually. Likely the falthier escape instead of this casino. Once I saw this MOC I thought it was the perfect size for this location and I'm a big fan of having every film-centred location in Star Wars represented somewhere on the shelf. Although the story line's merit may be contestable - who doesn't love gambling aliens?? I should point out that this MOC was designed before TLJ Blu Ray's deleted scenes gave us a look at the facade of the casino, which has more wide, pronounced white pillars along the face of the structure and some groovy 1960's masonry. I think the build pairs pretty well with the Resistance Transport 75176, which by itself is kind of a blah display. Wanted to include as much of the casino floor as possible, tried to include the piano / bar / slot machine area, and kind of gave up trying to integrate both the casino and the bar. You see what I have here. At the moment, I'm only displaying the main square casino area on my shelf and I may junk the bar and move the colored glass directly behind my pathetic stand-in for the Master Codebreaker. (He's on a roll, you know.) If I come into a lot more spare parts that favor white, I may try and complete the build. Also, if we get do an official falthier escape set from Lego or perhaps some Canto Bight police speeders, I'll likely revisit the build. And please take a peek at what LegoLogical did - my build really doesn't do his justice. Thanks for looking.
  10. (This may have been done before but I’m not familiar with any previous endeavor so I will make and post this nonetheless) LEGO SPACE, beginning in the 1980s, has had many factions, some being Blacktron, Spyrius, UFO, Space Police and more. Since beginning in 2010, the LEGO theme “Collectible Minifigures” has had many figures belonging to different space factions. However, not all of them belong to a pre-established faction, so this post will be made to not only detail the different space factions that have appeared in the various CMFs but primarily to assess those that are NOT preexisting factions, many of which have still not been given names as far as I’m aware. Since many figures are a part of factions one can posit that all space figures derive from and are representative of a particular faction (they don’t have to be but I will consider them as such for this post.) First, there are the: PRE-EXISTING, ALREADY ESTABLISHED, LEGO SPACE FACTIONS: Standard LEGO Space Agency (identified by the classic space logo): S1 Spaceman, S6 Intergalactic Girl, S7 Galaxy Patrol (dubbed “Space Marine” by some), S12 Space Miner, S15 Astronaut, S21 Space Police Guy, S22 Alien Creature, S22 Robot Repair Tech*, and S24 Brown Astronaut *The Robot Repair Tech’s look is complete enough and technologically advanced enough that it could not be made by someone or something without the necessary resources (they have a mining operation in space per the S12 space miner (perhaps a space-offshoot of Rock Raiders and Power Miner?)); it has a general, almost “focus-tested” look, like a modern civic/mainstream look (even arguably trying to look “cutesy”), like those of town/city buses, advertisements, maybe even streaming services, etc.; it is not Blacktron, Spyrius, or any other faction as its colors most align with the variety present in the standard space agency’s output; many have theorized that the standard space agency has a very wide reach (S22 Alien Creature shows that non-earth beings are enlisting/joining) and may even be rather fascistic and/or totalitarian (semi-jokingly but Space Police 3, Alien Conquest, S7 Galactic Trooper, and Galaxy Squad do put forth much compelling evidence: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=LQ3lfUxkm90 (some of these elements are now diminished a bit due to the existence of the S22 Alien Creature)); taking all this into account, the faction with the most reach, necessary resources, and that would have presence in the civic sphere, would be the standard space agency. Blacktron: S3 Space Villain, S11 Evil Mech, S19 Galactic Bounty Hunter Galaxy Squad (presumably an offshoot of the standard space agency but I will include it as its own faction since no such figure has the standard space agency logo): S13 Galaxy Trooper; this figure has on its chest armor, in the same places as all human Galaxy Squad minifigures, the same, exact symbols as them, except the symbol on their left has a gap in the middle of it (this symbol is present on the back of the S13 Galaxy Trooper’s armor as well.) I have never seen this mentioned anywhere before which is a bit disappointing. Alien Conquest aliens’ faction: S8 Alien Villainess UNESTABLISHED LEGO SPACE FACTIONS FROM THE CMF SERIES (I’m not familiar with every symbol used by a LEGO space faction so some of these may actually be from preexisting factions): S1 Robot: This could just be a helper robot made by the standard space agency. If it is representative of a species or faction, then the colors of their ships and overall aesthetics would presumably be light gray and silver with very plain/non-intricate designs. S3 Alien: It uses the Sqidman/Squidtron head but doesn’t seem to be of that same species (and according to the lore, Squidman may by the only alien of his kind (which is why he created Squidtron.)) It is most similar to the Alien Conquest aliens’ faction. Assuming it is a part of a faction and like the other factions their outfits and even skin colors match their vehicles and overall aesthetics, the ships for this species would be lime green, purple, gold, light gray and/or dark gray, and maybe silver and a light blue (perhaps just as highlights.) S6 Classic Alien: Assuming its ships are those of what is commonly ascribed to it, they would be modern-looking UFOs, retro UFOs, or anything apparently sighted. S8 Evil Robot: This could be an unaffiliated character, perhaps an experiment gone wrong or something of an outlaw, but assuming it is representative of a particular faction, then the vehicles and overall aesthetics would be black, red, and gunmetal. They almost seem like the LEGO space equivalent of the Borg. S9 Alien Avenger: The “Avenger” in the name relates to this description I found on bricksandminifigsanaheim.com (and the Portland version too) which reads like an official LEGO description so I’m going to post it here: “This alien species is constantly being bullied by others, but enough is enough! The Alien Avenger has bulked up, collected armor, and fashioned his own laser pistol to take out those who would threaten his home world!” It sounds like this species has been hurt by and/or caught in the fights of the standard space agency, Blacktron, Galaxy Squad, etc. This fits in to the overall situation of LEGO space, which is many space factions most of which competing or at odds with each other. This makes this avenger species seem more pacifistic from the start, donning their weapons as a means of defense. I personally am rooting for them. Their ships would presumably be bulky, consisting mostly of dark gray and bronze with silver highlights. Before knowing the figure’s official name and reading its description, to me this figure looked like it could’ve been a part of a species that was the LEGO space equivalent to the Klingons or the Star Wars EU/Legends’ Yuuzhan Vong. S9 Battle Mech: This figure doesn’t have any of the Galaxy Squad symbols but it looks almost exactly like one and it came out in the same year, included in the year’s first CMF. Though it lacks any symbols, it may be a part of Galaxy Squad and simply something similar to the S12 Dino Tracker, S19 Jungle Explorer, or even S9 Mr. Good And Evil, where the figures either belong to a theme or are remakes of older figures; S12 DT is a part of the Dino theme, S19 JE is Johnny Thunder, and arguably S9 MG&E is Monster Fighters, which is arguably further supported by a cover image used for the LEGO Worlds Monsters pack (even the S2 Witch and a differently-colored variant of the S1 Zombie were arguably, retroactively made into Monster Fighters minifigures with the set 850487 Halloween Accessory Set/Pack, whose box-art is very similar to if not exactly that of the Monster Fighters sets.) S6 Clockwork Robot and S11 Lady Robot: These are likelier to be none-space figures but they still could be considered or classified as such. The aesthetics of their vehicles would be blockier, feature gears, dials, cogs and lights, and colors such as light blue, red, gray, silver, pink, purple, and yellow. S15 Laser Mech and S16 Cyborg: These are seemingly both of the same faction/kind. These figures stand out from the others in that they are the only non-established faction to have two, different figures (not counting the possible S6 and S11 clockwork robots, but they are just differently gendered versions anyways) and to have a figure referenced in a rather substantive way; the Cyborg is on the S19 Game Champ’s “Space Game” (for the Game Box) cover. The aesthetics for this faction, assuming they are not a part of a preexisting one (addressed soon), would be primarily light blue and black with lime green highlights and maybe some silver. If these figures are a part of an already existing faction, then they would seemingly be a part of the 90s Insectoid faction in a way similar to the aforementioned S9 Mr. Good And Evil, S12 Dino Tracker, and S19 Jungle Explorer, where they are made intended as certain figures and/or belonging to certain themes but are not explicitly mentioned as being such; the aesthetics of the Cyborg could be considered an updated version of the Insectoid faction’s aesthetics (Roboforce is second likeliest but Cyborg’s aesthetics feel more Insectoids-like.) S17 Retro Space Hero: This figure is either an unaffiliated hero or a part of an older/retro version of the standard space agency. Its aesthetics, which would carry over to its vehicles, are those of old, science fiction pulps (pulp magazines/comics) and serials. S21 Alien: This alien appears to be in a prison jumpsuit (it may not be but since it was in the same series as the Space Police Guy and was seemingly intended as a companion minifigure, I assume it’s a prison jumpsuit.) If it is a part of a group or faction, then per Space Police lore, especially that of the most recent incarnation of the theme, this alien is a member of Brick Daddy’s Blackhole Gang. S24 Robot Warrior: This figure may be Earth-based, seemingly being from an anime-type vein or a Japanese media vein like the S20 Super Warrior (“Super Sentai” it has been fittingly referred to) (both figures are “[blank] Warrior”.) Its aesthetics are those of common, action-oriented anime stories, similar to how the aesthetics of the S17 Retro Space Hero are old science fiction pulps and serials; I don’t think I have to explain what colors or styles it would consist of then. FIGURES THAT DO NOT COUNT BUT WILL BE MENTIONED SINCE THEY ARE RELATED TO WHATEVER DEGREE: S17 Rocket Boy S23 Cardboard Robot SPACE REFERENCES PRESENT WITH OR ON OTHER FIGURES: (Already mentioned) S19 Game Champ’s “Space Game” (for the Game Box) cover S20 Space Fan’s shirt has a classic space spaceship (there is also a saturn planet sticker on the pants which may or may not be a reference to the standard space agency’s logo) S21 Violin Kid’s shirt is white with a small, black collar (or that’s just the neck opening and a shadow), covered with Blacktron logos FIN If there is anything I didn’t mention let me know

  12. In the depths of space, a rest stop is a welcome sight. The Asteroid Bar has parking, fuel, entertainment and food for anyone in the system. The bar itself is a popular haunt for travellers and locals alike. Regulars always have someone new to meet, compete with or scam! There are some familiar and not so familiar faces to spot. I built this as a display for a local Comic Con in 2019, the parking area is lit up by EL wire, with a battery box hidden under the fuel pumps. The dance floor is a construction over a grid that holds fairy lights with a few different colours and lighting patterns, I tucked that box aside as I wanted to change the pattern throughout the day. Because it was for a comic con, I wanted to build something that was fun to look at and spot characters from pop-culture and also fun aliens and robots that I made up myself. It went down very well at the con and was a fun build. However I have more SciFi plans afoot, so these photos from the day are the best I'm going to get, this is ear-marked for take-down and a new creation. Apart from the dance floor, I want to work this into future layouts (if we ever get to do them again!) Who can you spot? Do at least a few of my joke scenes and references hit?
  13. Finally had time to finish my Aliens MOC (had this in mind for quite some time, but took ages to get the right bricks...) I tried to match the size of the Powerloader, the Alien and the Alienqueen to match the minifigs... I hope you like it? Let me know what you think. Update: Feb 26. ...more pictures! Here's some new pictures (Groupshot, Details) ...hope you like it.

"All right, sweethearts, what are you waiting for? Breakfast in bed? Another glorious day in the Corps! A day in the Marine Corps is like a day on the farm. Every meal's a banquet! Every paycheck a fortune! Every formation a parade! I LOVE the Corps!"
  15. After watching a documentary about Puma Punku, I decided to rebuild one of the famous H-Blocks with LEGO-bricks. I tried to build it as small as possible (2x4 brick for comparison) without losing too much of the original measurements/aspect ratio...
  16. So I made another original story. Well two actually, I will add the second later. Or not at all, you know how my self confidence is. Anyway I wrote this for my creative writing course. Keep in mind I love inhuman aliens, so be prepared for tentacles and hooves. Tiktok darted through the allies of the city, his three eyes wide with fear. Well he was not quite a "he," but he was one of the two sexes responsible for fertilization in his species. And of the two fertilizers, his sex contributed the genetics closest to sperm, so he would fit.. He was still an adolescent however, and his face tendrils had not fully matured. It was a large city, its towering homes and businesses reaching up into the sky. The chrome buildings glinted in the moonlight, dancing light like so many specks of dew. These stars upon the world sparkled, as cold as space. But no one stirred within the city’s limits. Not a single animal or plant strayed within the silver spiraling skyscrapers, not a beast howled at the twin moons. The city was a barren landscape, as shiny as a glass vase, and just as empty. Only a few months ago it would have been full of people like Tiktok, but now it was completely abandoned, and already had started to decay and rust. In the sky hung the moons of Sehkis, both small but large enough to churn the slimy green waters of the planet. Sunlight reflected off both of them from the far off stars, illuminating the two celestial orbs. Tiktok wiped his thick forehead with relief, as he ran through the streets. As disturbing as it was for such a metropolis to be void of life, it was welcomed. Better than being near those…things. Still, the Tiktok missed the sound of Pestin hounds bouncing on their single thick legs, using their tentacles to steady their balance. He missed seeing the Geers as they flew in their wing-slaps, their many tendrils flowing behind them. But all creatures avoided the cities now, even the abandoned ones. Tiktok had four legs ending in hooves, as was typical for his fellow Klokorks. Along with the five tendrils on his face, three long tentacles also grew on his back. The boneless appendages slid through the holes in his emerald cloak, which engulfed his entire body. Tiktok suddenly dove into an alley, his body a feathered seed in the wind. From the corner of his eye he could see one of the Changed-Ones, lumbering forth on two legs. The monster was not completely transformed, its feet still were toeless. But it walked with a terrible gait, and already had the strange flat head. Tiktok shuddered at the sight, coiling his tentacles around his body for their warm embrace. From the sound of the appendages, the Changed-One paused and swiveled its neck towards him. Its twin eyes probed the region, searching for a disturbance. The youth stopped breathing, his body froze into nonexistence. He just stared, his eyes wide and stable. Finally the Changed-One turned away, and lumbered on through the city. With a rush of life Tiktok ran, racing down the street. Perspiration rolled off his skin, and an equivalent to adrenaline rocketed through his body. Sehkis had been a relatively peaceful planet, or at least a world not in open war. The Klokroks had lived divided into two major communes, the Stemajean to the north, and the Solapowa to the south. Tiktok had lived in Solapowa his whole life; oh how he had cheered when the first settlement on the closer moon was built. Of course Stemajean built their only colony not too much later, and the Cold War continued. The Cold war had existed for the last one hundred years, after the Great War had wiped out the eastern continent. Since that atomic bombardment, the two nations had splintered, their old alliance broken by Solapowa's necessary end to the war. The Weendmil civilization had been too dangeroys, they needed to be destroyed. Technology had advanced a lot from that moment, antimatter was the deterrent of the day. Or it had been. One day, people began to change. Their front hands grew tiny tendrils, and their body moved up ninety degrees. Their heads flipped forwards and the mouth-tendrils retracted into their face. Even their sleek back tentacles vanished from them. At first it was Stemajean's fault, it had to be. But it soon spread to their lands, if it wasn't there initially. And soon it didn't matter, no one was safe. Whatever caused it, whether virus or waves of nanobots, nothing could stop the Conversion. All of the Changed-Ones would abandon their homes, their families, and leave for the factories and laboratories of the nations. Some were captured and tortured for answers, but all that came out was a strange twisted tongue. As Tiktok moved through the many streets of the city, he froze. Standing before him was a trio of Changed-Ones, walking towards him on their well-balanced but freakish feet. The first of the three babbled something in a clean-cut tongue, before charging with a vengeance. Quickly he turned before galloping away, his feet stamping wildly against the streets. His back tentacles whipped wildly as he ran, flapping against his back with abandon. Each strike of his tentacles crashed upon his body and sent his back throbbing. With a skid Tiktok shifted into an alleyway, darting along the side streets and paths of the city. The Changed-Ones were slow, there was at least that mercy. But as the Klokork had not eaten well since he had first ran away from his herd, having to avoid the marketplaces. And there were more of them. As Tiktok ran, he avoided a sudden leap from a Changed-One. As he turned a corner a second Changed-One lunged at him, forcing him to scatter in a charging of hooves. As he ran, it dawned on him that they were corralling him, pushing him to one particular direction. It was then that he reached the dead-end in the alleys. Tiktok stared in horror as the brick wall before him, the side of a towering building. As he backed away, he could hear the Changed-Ones behind him, cutting off his exit. The youth turned around, trying not to meet their horrible eyes. The Klokork lashed his tentacles across the air, striking the wind as he reared against the wall. As the strange bipeds approached, Tiktok caught sight of something moving behind them. Suddenly, the newcomer leapt across the Changed-Ones, standing before him. It was a dark black navy blue machine, with two triple jointed legs. Its "body" had a series of plates wrapped around it, and two pairs of red eyes centered on a stout head. It looked something like a cocoon, standing on two legs. The strange machine looked at Tiktok with a probing gaze, its eyes flexing like a camera. Suddenly the machine turned around, and its plates erupted. The entire cocoon unfolded, its layers flipping out into new wings, seven in total. As the machine hovered with its wings, its head separated too, growing two large dishes and two antennae in a "v" shape. The android uncoiled two arms from underneath where the cocoon had been wrapped, small lean limbs with three smaller appendages at their ends. Suddenly a shriek erupted from the android's dishes, sending sheering pain into Tiktok. The Changed-Ones had it worse, crumbling to their knees from the sound. The three naked freaks reduced themselves to a heap, a red ooze leaking from the organic holes in their head. The machine turned around to face Tiktok, its face strange with a two short mandibles. The android hovered over to him, it's wings flapping in a blur of movement. It seemed almost, fluid, if not for those piercing electronic eyes. The machine stuck out its hand, and flexed its palm and graspers at Tiktok. Slowly, cautiously Tiktok backed way, pressing against the wall at the alien gesture. The automaton backed off, its wings drawing closer to reforming as armor plates. The transforming machine gestured again, pulling at the air as if to pull Tiktok forward. Looking down at the bleeding Changed-Ones, Tiktok swallowed deeply. Slowly he clopped his hooves after the machine, careful to be ready to bolt. The android collapsed back into its heavily armored form, before springing forward in a bound of its legs. The machine leapt across the city, slowing only to let Tiktok catch up. "Slow down," Tiktok garbled in a squishy voice as he panted. The android continued to leap far ahead, leaving him far behind. "Did Stemajean make you?" Tiktok gurgled between gasps. It did not reply, but made the "come here" gesture again; this time pointed at the Klokork's face. With a sloppy wet sigh, Tiktok continued on, scampering after the machine through the city, until finally they came upon the city limits. Swampland continued from here on, a gooey landscape where movement was slow and rough. Maroon trees could be seen in the distances, their flat disk-shaped leaves resting on the tops of their jointed branches. A few Geers could be heard squirting out mating calls, while some flew in the distance in massive clocks. As the two wadded through the marsh, Tiktok's guard was relaxed by the passage of time. The machine made no hostile move, simply leaping ahead of him. On occasion, it slowed, pausing to unveil its dishes and open its shell into its wings, but then it would continue on again. It seemed to be almost carved rather than fashioned together, like a golem of sorts. As it leapt Tiktok began to talk, making observations of the maroon trees and the green seas. Slowly his comments gave way to rambling, glad to have someone who would listen. The one sided conversations continued as they pushed on, the metal man as silent as ever. Night fell and day rose, as time melded into a slippery goop. It was slowly melting into a blur, time melding into a squishy goo, hard to focus on. "...And then I ran away," Tiktok said, probably days later, "I mean, who can blame me? Half my herd was changed, and every one of those...things started giving me dirty looks. I mean I know about the instability of being alone, but I was already alone, you know?" "They are called humans," the machine suddenly remarked in a soft voice. Tiktok started and bolted behind a tree, clutching his cloak around him. From behind the tree Tiktok asked in a garbled squeeze of his mouth, "You um, you can talk?" "I needed time to adjust to your words," the golem said gently as it approached, "I was only able to get an imprint from your world's electronic systems. I'm not a supercomputer, I needed experience. Not only had a never heard your words before, but my people’s tongues relied more on clicking and chirping, not such wet-moist sounds." "Wah-what are you?" the Klokork oozed out, his fear rediscovered. "The human race is a powerful species," the golem squirted calmly instead of answering, "One of the most technologically advanced civilizations in the galaxy. And for the past one hundred of your years, they have been in an interstellar civil war." Tiktok clung to his tree as the machine continued, "I do not know why the war started, or what made it impossible to stop, only that it soon reached the point where fighting was no longer feasible. At least, not without sudden new sources of ships and soldiers." "Because of this humans seek industrial civilizations," the golem slopped out electronically, "worlds where it would be relatively easy to develop spaceships and weaponry. Worlds ready to bloom. And then they seed the planet with trillions of probes, which slowly change all of the people on the planet into humans, to serve in the war and to build new warships." The golem stopped moving, and opened up its shell back into its winged form. As it stood there Tiktok asked trembling, "B-but what are you?" "My people...were like you," the golem's hands stroked over its body, "made of carbon and hydrogen. We were a bit more advanced in robotics than your people though. One of the human armies seeded our world, and our people began to change. So to save ourselves, we made new bodies in our image; living bodies of metal which could house our consciousness." "You became machines," Tiktok whimpered as he scampered to the next tree. "No," the golem turned sharply, "We still breed, we still think, we still are alive. We just...are based on inorganic material now. And our new forms have allowed us to travel safely to seeded worlds, more than most organic people." "But you-" "We needed to survive," the golem said, flinging her hand down, "Our people were being recycled into those machines. We took the only path we could, the only way to keep us safe. And we do not regret it." "...Why are you here?" the Klokork moaned, his third eye darting for an escape route from the frightening machine. "My people try to save as many as we can," the golem answered, "But here...here we found something different. We were late here, too late to save anyone. By the time we found this world, everyone should have been infected and changed. But you, you remain unchanged. The last of your kind. If we could study your genetics, we could-" Tiktok bolted as the golem spoke, sprinting off as far as he could. His legs galloped wildly, spraying swamp water away. He had to get away. It was one thing when it was just some robot, but a thing that thought itself alive? Suddenly a blast of sound rocked him, knocking Tiktok into the swamp. His body slipped into unconsciousness, as the golem descended upon him, its eyes fiercely sad.
  17. This is my second attempt to post this, the first was when the site went crazy. Since the semester is all but over, I have decided to share a short story I wrote for my intro to creative writing course. If this is in the wrong section please move it, I would have posted this in the old writing topic, but I don't know if that topic has "expired." Feel free to give feedback. To Come Upon “I’m telling you, they’re real,” Nathanial defended, “I had a computer expert check it out, they aren’t photo-shopped!” His body refused to stay still; rather it trembled as he struggled to stay stationary. “By ‘expert’ you mean your little sister don’t you?” teased John. The three of them were talking outside of their shared Roman classics, as Nate struggled to convince them of his picture’s authenticity. “That isn’t the point here,” Nate redirected, “You know she’s good at this kind of thing. The point is, aliens have invaded Titan!” The teen’s arms flapped wildly, his body trembling with excitement. “Invading?” Sam asked with a slightly raised eyebrow as she took another peek, “and you know they aren’t native…how?” “Look at their backs,” Nate explained eagerly, “you can clearly see some sort of breathing apparatus. They aren’t adapted to Titan, so they have to be from beyond.” He stared off in the distance as he finished, which was obscured by a highway wall. “You do realize that could be a part of their bodies,” she analyzed, “I mean, we have no clue what life on another world would look like, and some Terran forms of life seem metallic. And if they did have artificial air filters, could they just have damaged their atmosphere, and now require technology to breath?” “You don’t honestly think such complex life could be native to a world with no other forms of life!” Nate said in frustration as he leapt up and down. John had decided to use this time to resume going over his notes on the Odyssey, letting Sam and Nate discuss the main points. The whole topic was pointless regardless of whether or not he got involved. “No, I believe they are interstellar,” she answered, “or at least from Europa. But if they did have some sort of disaster, a mass extinction event could have destroyed their biosphere. It’s not likely, but we can’t reject it out of hand.” “No way are they from Europa,” Nate argued, “Life on Europa would live in constant darkness lit only by bioluminescence and geothermic light, encase with thick ice walls. There is no way-” At that point the classroom began to empty as the period ended. Nate’s words were lost over the din, save for a few odd sentiments. ------------------- “…And that’s why Wasp-8096 could kill Surtur,” Sam concluded. She and John were eating lunch at the moment, by a tree on their campus. Every so often passersby would give them an odd look or two, as the two of them debated things in their strange tongue. The two of them failed to notice the outsiders, save if a dog barked. “Okay, I get what you’re coming from,” John conceded, “although I think you mean universe 80920. But we don’t know if Surtur can regenerate, and if so to what extent can he heal. Plus it would be a suicidal attack regardless.” Suddenly the two of them heard hyperventilation in the distance, drawing ever closer. With a slap of his head John watched as Nate ran towards them, photographs littering his hands. “The aliens!” Nate gasped, his arms flaying madly as he slammed to a halt The two friends stared at Nate for a time, before Sam replied, “If Ares-616 died from being torn in two, then Surtur can die from having his head exploded. And I am pretty sure its universe 8096.” “Focus people!” Nate demanded as his arms became windmills, “the source in the European Space Agency leaked more images, you can actually make out their bodies now!” “Where are they even getting these images from?” asked John, “the last probe to Titan was seven years ago. Oh, let me guess. ‘Channel A,’ right?” “Exactly,” Nate exclaimed with relief, “350 images “lost,” each showing some aspect of the aliens and the ships. I mean, why would they make a redundant system but divide the pictures in two halves?” “Then why tell people they lost half their images?” Sam asked, “Won’t that just encourage conspiracy enthusiasts to probe? Besides, I doubt any of us know enough about rocket science to really judge what happened.” “And that kind of thinking is why no one questioned it!” Nate proclaimed triumphantly, before thrusting his images into their faces. Upon the images moved three creatures, each vaguely draconian in form. The aliens had a sharp beak, covered up by a silvery coat. Their whole bodies were doused in chrome, including the vent shaped growths on their backs. From what could be seen of their heads, their skin was quite pale. But their most distinct features were their limbs. Their hind legs were bird like, though with an added delicateness. They seemed almost hand-like in shape. Their front limbs however were multipurpose, with long webbing stretching from tip to body. While they walked the limb collapsed into a leg, which ended in a curved claw. But every so often one of them would leap off the ground, and their leg would shift into a powerful pair of wings. “…Space Dragons,” John said slowly, “Space Dragons. Have you ever read Iron Man or X-Men? Because this seems really familiar-” “Don’t mock me,” Nate requested, though his thunder was slightly dampened, “Look in the top right corner of this one; you can just about make out three ships.” “Oh yeah,” Sam remarked as she shifted her head, “If you squint and tilt your head, you can make them out.” John shrugged and complied, letting him just about catch sight of the supposed vessels. They were wide vehicles, shaped almost like manta rays. Their body was an ebony hue, though even that was barely visible against Titan’s sky. “And before you ask,” Nate said with barely contained glee, “I already checked, they still aren’t photo-shopped! Seven years…seven years of hiding the truth.” He almost danced, though he clasped the photos with a fierce grip. “Which won’t explain why we waste time fighting wars amongst ourselves,” John pointed out, not that he really believed those words. “Well technically we aren’t in the ESA,” Sam suggested, “our government might not have been informed. What are their members again?” “Are you two honestly not excited by this?” asked Nate as he fought to remain still, “How can you be so calm? There are aliens coming!” “Listen, we are happy for your family reunion,” John replied, “but it isn’t really worth getting excited about. Either they come and they slaughter/enslave us, or there aren’t aliens coming and we kill ourselves. Either way everyone dies, doesn’t matter how.” “They could be peaceful,” Nate offered, taken slightly aback. “In which case they will kill us to maintain interstellar peace,” John replied, “or send us back to the Stone Age.” “…We aren’t that bad,” Sam said awkwardly, looking at John with a slight hint of worry. “Don’t go “Tenth Doctor” on me,” John laughed, though his eyes remained just as weathered as before. Nate drifted away, before running off to spread more news. ------------------- “You okay?” Sam asked suddenly as the two of them were gazing into gloaming of the sky. The amber light became more and more engulfed by shadows, leaving only embers of illumination in the night sky. “Yeah,” John answered finally, “I’m fine. It’s just…” He trailed off, not wanting to give voice to his thoughts. “She had lived a long life,” Sam whispered finally, “A lot of dogs don’t even reach fifteen.” “But she ended up dead the same,” he sighed gloomily, as the sky before them was overtaken by ebony. John laid his hand over his head as he muttered, “Seventeen years. I don’t even remember a time Dusty wasn’t there. And now...what is the point to it? To all of this? If someone so innocent must still die…” “Memories,” Sam stated softly, “That can be the point. I mean, you won’t give up the years with Dusty for anything right? And she helped make you who you are today.” “Yeah,” John admitted, though a selfish part would rather that pain have never plagued him. “Maybe we all will die one day, but that doesn’t mean we should just give up. How many villains have tried to destroy all mutants? How many times have the Avengers faced alien armadas or twisted gods? How often was Ulysses set back in his trip home? They could have given up at any time, but they kept going.” “Heroes don’t stay dead for long.” “Skurge is still dead.” “Yeah, yeah he is.” The thoughtful silence the two of them experienced was soon shattered by Nate running up to them, his eyes wider than satellite dishes and his arms acting more like wings. “What is it?” John asked crossly. Nate was eerily silent, as he pointed to the right of the two of them. John and Sam followed his finger’s point, before their eyes grew in shock. A series of bright lights arched across the sky, flowing from the distance. The specks of illumination grew larger as they flowed through the sky, and gradually they took shape. Large flat bodies, with a long thin back. They looked like manta rays. As the alien crafted flew past the campus in the distance, Sam and John collapsed upon each other. The ships were entirely silently, it was like a dream. The two of them could only tremble, no matter what had been said, they were not prepared. Finally, meekly, they helped each other to their feet, as Nate gazed at the fleet, a loving smile fixed upon his lips. As the trio gazed at the fleet, their cellphones buzzed with texts. For a while the sound was lost to them, engulfed by the waves of ships and the growing panic of the other students. Screams echoed across the campus while others broke to their knees in desperate prayer. Finally the two youth’s spare hands found their way to their phones, and they escaped the armada’s view to harbor a glance. “What-what is this?” Sam managed as she took a better look at the text, her body quaking, “It kind of looks like ancient Greek.” There was a pause as the group dragged their eyes from the fleet to look over the font, made up of odd vaguely-familiar distortions of modern letters and other symbols. “They’ve been here before,” Nate said slowly, as his face exploded, “They’ve been here before!” He began to dance with utter wonder, a whiplash from the screams in the distant background. But neither reactions really mattered. As Nate jumped around wildly, John stared up at the ships with renewed wonder. “They’ve been here before?” he repeated, “But why-how-? “Doesn’t matter how,” Sam said with a smile, “although I would like to know “what.”’ John nodded slowly, as his mind began to imagine what brought these aliens to earth once before, and what made them return. And what made them spare humanity the first time. But for now, he could only watch the ships of a foreign sky.

  20. Good Evening Everyone; Long time LEGO fan main choice of entertainment as a child but now coming back to it as an AFOL and need some help. I have decided to take on the Aliens APC and Dropship for my first MOC's. I've been using 'Missing Bricks' and 'HAVOC' creations and reference but I can't seem to figure out what exact parts make up the wheels on the APC from the LEGO website. Would someone be willing to give me some guidance? Time and consideration appreciated, see pics. Cheers
  21. I have built one model of this coolest APC ever back in 2008 and wanted to improve on it ever since. So finally, 9 years later (gee, I'm old): As usual, photos and some reading: http://sariel.pl/2017/03/aliens-m577-apc/
  22. Here's my next MOC hope you enjoy! alien lands - outpost by kofi, auf Flickr Edit: Maybe it should be postet in the SiFi forum! Sorry for that!
