REVIEW: Hidden Side 70419 Wrecked Shrimp Boat
Hive replied to Pchan1983's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I really like the fishermen and the albino crocodile. The boat isn't bad either, but I'm not a fan of the side build and the "broken ship" play feature. -
Does anyone have further info on this? A month later and it's still not possible to order in other countries than UK, Germany and USA.

A lighthouse of some sort really does seem like the perfect fit for this theme. Not terribly original, as we've seen it many times in LEGO form - but who will mind another, if done in a style that fits the Shrimp Boat and Shrimp Diner?

Modular Building Sets - Rumours and Discussion
Hive replied to The Jersey Brick Guy's topic in LEGO Town
They already did a hotel, though. -
Well, "big plans" may be overselling it a bit... but I'm going to use it to turn my Downtown Diner into a seafood diner.

I bought the High School, the Diner and the Shrimp Boat. I've only built the Diner so far, but I liked it. Good figures, lots of exciting new (at least to me) parts in new colours. But although they generally look good, there's waaaaay too many stickers in the set. They should have gone for a few more printed tiles. I absolutely adore the shrimp itself, which I have big plans for.

Same here. But oh well, the release of Hidden Side coincides with a local store having their yearly "35 % off LEGO" sale - so I'll manage.

Both Pirates 2009 and Pirates 2015 were good lines, to me. 2009 had the overall better sets, but 2015 had the overall better minifigures. Only really big letdown from either wave was the 2015 ship. I'm not really interested in a straight re-release of any of the "classic" Pirates sets, as the parts, colours and minifigs are simply too dated compared to modern standards. I would, however, absolutely love to see them do an updated, re-imagined version of some of the more iconic sets from the time to take advantage of the parts, colours and building details of today.

Many of us are thankful of that, as it greatly increases versatility. I personally get rid of all torsos with flesh tones, as they won't work at all for my "yellowfication". And I'm sure many people operate the other way as well. I greatly prefer LEGO giving us neutral torsos that can be used either way.

Beautiful set, especially with autumn colours. But pricey, very pricey. And the minifigures are a bit boring. They could have included more animals as well.
-
Isn't it a bit weird that the we are getting the dog in physical form - when it's clearly a ghost as well?
-
Well let's keep our fingers crossed. I haven't been this excited for a new, non-licensed theme since... well, probably since Pirates I. I look forward to getting some of these sets. Good job!

A second wave is guaranteed? Sweet. Can't wait to get some Hidden Side sets next month and I'll be looking forward to next year's sets already.

Thoughts on Non-Lego Components/Accessories i.e. BrickWarriors
Hive replied to Rockstaremcee's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
This is basically how I feel as well. -
I'm not a fan of the pink/turquoise combination myself, and will definately switch things up on my own diner once build. I never considered doing anything in black, but it looks really good and classy.

After seeing Mister Phes frontpage this thread more than a year after it was created...
