  1. More artwork and wallpapers, yay...
  2. Good news indeed. I think they'll probably have to tweak the design a great deal, but I'm happy just to be getting a slice of civilian Castle again.
  3. I believe actually that the Black Seas Barracuda re-release was slightly different from the original and had a larger piece count - but I'm not familiar with the specifics.
  4. That may be, but I can't imagine LEGO selling many copies of the set at such a price point.
  5. Yes, though not in a large scale.
  6. Where is that black hair with orange parts in it from?
  7. While you could of course be correct, I really can't see them releasing a piano set for 200 dollars...
  8. I think this is the most important reason why it's not a really feasible idea to straight out re-release sets from the 80's and 90's. They could try to get the best of both worlds by doing faithful re-makes with new techniques and parts instead, thus catering to new and old fans alike.
  9. EDIT: Nevermind.
  10. I agree with the above, they dropped the ball a bit with the protagonists being unlikeable and weirdly out of sync with the rest of the characters. I hope the third wave is significantly better than the second wave we just got. If not, I won't mind the theme ending. I bought 4 sets from the first wave (and made sure to get the juice bar GWP), but haven't bought a single set from the second wave (instead opting to just get some of the figs from Pick a Brick). A significant drop in quality of the sets.
  11. What do you want to do with that many owls?
  12. A Creator pirate ship is better than nothing, but... not what I was hoping for.
  13. Considering that LEGO hasn't given us an actual Castle theme in 7 years (with the last one being quite poor as well), I think this forum has a remarkably high participance. But even with another Castle theme, I don't think Classic Castle will ever blossom into something huge again.
  14. I placed an order on January 19th that wasn't shipped untill today.
  15. I'm not sure which set was my first Pirates set - but the one I remember the most vividly getting was 6257 LegoCastaway's Raft: The set I had the absolutely most fun/playtime with as a kid though was, without a doubt, 6267 LegoLagoon Lock-Up:
  16. I don't follow your logic. If I like 10 Castle projects, why not show LEGO that instead of just showing them that I like 1? The more votes Castle projects get, the more attention the theme will get and the more likely LEGO will be to revive it. That said... most of the Castle stuff on Ideas isn't really suitable to become an actual set, either because they're too big/complicated or too plain and unimaginative.
  17. They should have kept more stock, but okay - fair enough to run out of stock. What is NOT fair enough, however, is still advertising it long after they're run out. That's just tasteless.
  18. I still see adds for the Year of The Rat GWP when browsing facebook and other sites. Pretty poor taste, when it's not actually available.
  19. Thanks for the pictures - there were some items in there that I was not aware of, and added to my order.
  20. To each his own. I like that many of the Hidden Side sets can - with little or no modifications - go straight into a city/town setup. The Monster Fighters sets... not so much. I'm not into trains at all, so it wouldn't be fair of me to pass judgement on either of those - but I see good and bad in both of those sets.
  21. Hidden Side has better sets overall but Monster Fighters had better monster minifigures overall. Though I do appreciate that Hidden Side's civilian figures can be used for town/city seamlessly. And Monster Fighters Haunted House is the best set of both themes by far, and one of my favorite LEGO sets of all time.
  22. Yeah a Hidden Side GWP is coming on January 24th or something like that. But yeah, I too have a policy of only buying from LEGO.com when there's a decent GWP. And I don't appreciate feeling cheated, which I do when Europe is (once again) shafted like that.
  23. As I put the new Old Trafford set into the basket, I expected both the Holy Trinity GWP as well as the Year of The Rat GWP to be put into my basket as well - but neither of them appeared. Can it really be that Europe gets neither of these GWPs while other parts of the world gets both?
  24. I completely agree with this. I too am quite disappointed with the offerings the last many months. They started out with a bang, but we've seen nothing of interest since then.
